I have order 900 from S'pore and it comes with 30GB & XP installed.
Price around S$700.

The dealer claimed this's a special edition in order to clear stock for 900 before there starts selling 901.

The dealer will call me by next week for the collection arrangement.

Hi,

Went out and registered Maxis USB Broadband for RM118/ per month unlimited usage. Hmm look at the fine print of the contract there is a if you exceed 3GB per month they have the right to throttle you. I think that is to prevent user of using P2P. Hmm.... 3GB looks a lot but that translate to only 100MB a day. Well the good thing is that if I return within 7 days I get my RM100/= ringgint refund. If after this period and before 1 year I have to pay RM200/= fee and return the modem. The modem if lost I can be charge RM900/=

Hmm I still have 6 days to think it over smile.gif but so far the speed looks good and pretty convenient. Only problem is the size of the modem.

This just won't do  vmad.gif

Hmmm ... I have to get another Huawei 3G modem and do the internal 3G MOD

IT IS JUST TOO BIG.

Well I need input.... input....

I have check with an marketing staff in one of the 2 main distributor for Eee PC and they told me that 901 will not be released in Malaysia so soon.

They will only bring in 900......and 1000 model !!
Why 1000 and not 901 ?....cause again they said 901 shortage of stocks.

The good news is the *900* (corrected) price is unbelieveable attractive.....comes with 30GB (2.5" HD Drive) & XP.

I cannot reveal the prize at this moment but they told me that for EeePC 901...there will not be any prize control meaning those seller can sell at a higher price if they want....margin too small perhaps.

For those looking for 901....u might shift your buying to MSI Wind.....but will MSI Wind be easily available ??.

Your choice is as good as mine.

Ok...I try to make it simple for you guys to decide which to buy.

The price of a 900 and 901 is around RM300....the difference is extra 2 hours battery life and 901 has Bluetooth.

Reviews has indicated that the all new Atom 1.6 processor does not really outperformed the Celeron 900.

Raoul,

Just spoke with one of the distributor and confirm that

900, 901 XPH and 1000H all have stock but limited for this batch. I tried to order only the 1000H but cannot because of limited stock each order must be all 5 different model. So for those that want to get one unit I would suggest that you walk around tomorrow Imbi or Low Yat because the stock are here today.

I will be one of them hehe.....

jackdon.

Jackdon,

Ok...keep us update if you managed to spot any 901 XPH, 1000H or MSI Wind at Imbi/LowYat by tomorrow.

Thanks biggrin.gif

No sight of the EeePC 901 or the 1000H. So I got the MSI Wind U100 for my brother's son.

Paid RM 1,999/=
MSI Wind U100 / 80GB HDD (it is 2.5" SATA) / Build in 1GB (Free Slot for Upgrade)
10" Screen / Bluetooth / Wifi / Linux (so you what  brows.gif )

FREE: External USB DVD Writer

Not a bad deal, only that the battery is standard and the fellow says 3 hours. I will give it 2 - 2.5 hours to realistic.

So what are you waiting for.

jackdon
I am going to pick it up after this mail smile.gif then I will be lurking around MSI Wind U1000 forum...... haha
*
Bro,

Which shop did you bought the MSI Wind ?
I might need to get one by this week but the only setback is the short battery life

I assume they only have white & pink...rite ?

The 901 has 30GB? Are you sure? SSD?
*
Sorry...typo error.
The 30Gb is for the 900 model AND not 901.

The only info I got is that 900 will have a 2.5 HD drive.

@jackdon...thanks for correcting me.

For those outside of KL area....900 (30GB) *4 cells battery* will only be available anytime between tomorrow until next Tuesday.

Be patient as I believe our Jackdon or others will be posting more details as soon as 900 (30GB) being sold at any of the outlets in Imbi/LowYat.

901 only be in the next couple of weeks...no idea the exact date and no any idea if it comes with 4 or 6 cell battery.

so the price is? rm1299?
*
Suggested retail price is 1399 but dealer might be selling at a higher price cause there's no any price control for EeePC.

The pricing structure formula is that 900, 901 & 1000 will have a price gap of RM300 difference.

If you want longer a battery life...u will have to go for 901 running on Intel Atom.

hello fellas,

I'm now looking for a small and light laptop as I travel a lot, and after some survey I plan to get a 900/ 901 by next 2 weeks, after I coming back from a trip. Some question to ask. May I know:

a) what is the difference/s btw 900 and 901?
    900 = Celeron 900, 901 = Atom 1.6Ghz

b) my finger is bit rough, so may I know how many % smaller compared to a normal laptop keyboard?
I'm not sure how many percent but 900/901 keyboard slighty smaller than Wind.

c) what is the advantages over msi wind?
I think the other way around...Wind better than 900 but might lost out slighty advantages to 901 due to 901 comes with 6 cell & Wind only 3 cell. Wind comes with 10" screen compares with 9" on the 900/901.

d) how do you guys format the window, since it don't have any cd-rom and how do you boot from usb?
Not sure on this....you can google it.

e) is the performance worth the price?
We can't really compares it against the normal laptop cause you could get a decent normal laptop with better feature.....BUT the golden answer still lies in the mobility & lightness for the price of under RM2k.

thanks. smile.gif

So difficult to get the 901...so I decided to get the MSI Wind last week after some help from our forumner Jackdon...thanks smile.gif

At least MSI Wind price is accurate than EEE PC price...dealer in LowYat & Digital Mall is selling the 900 between 1399 - 1699....there's no price control being set by the Asus.

Asus Malaysia did a pre-launch at San Francisso Coffee KLCC for 901 / 1000 model early last week and announce to the media press that the 901 / 1000 will be price at 1699 / 1999 and will be in the market the very same week.....but until today no any sign of its whereabout...lol evem appear in The Star (Intech section) dated 10/07/08.

I think if u guys want to view the 901...u have to look for one of the 901 proud owner Mr Jackdon.

Will upgrade my MSI Wind to 6 cell battery once it released in market in Sept / Oct or maybe Aug.

Jackdon....maybe you can plan a gathering for all EEE Pc, Aspire One, MSI Wind & other UMPC owner for us to share our experience on it rclxms.gif .

Just for the information of you guys, Compuzone website states that Asus EEE PC 1000 (H) is already available now for Rm1,999.

http://www.compu-zone.com/index.php?option...id=3:promotions

I have a question though.
Is there any option to buy extended warranty for the EEE PC?

I called them just now & a guy said no stock for Eee PC 1000 or 901 rclxub.gif

my god, i'm just so torn between the 1000h and wind

there's a comparison on the web that says the keyboard on the asus is not as good as the wind, plus tactile feedback from the mouse buttons aren't as good as wind either

plus the horribly huge ugly hinge on the asus makes the wind look so sexy

on the other hand, 6 cell @ 7 hours is freagin awesome.
i'd appreciate any suggestions from users of 1000h and wind. cheers.

Once the 6 cell is out for Wind...it will rulez over 901 & 1000 rclxms.gif

Refer to all replies, i'm left in the middle now rclxub.gif
One of the user quoted that the weight of 1000H is noticeable, and another says that the weight is ok for those who like to carry it around.

So, anyone could help me, is 1000H is a best buy for me?  rclxms.gif

TQ

Bro...after so many opinions...it's time for u to make your decision.
It's your call now as this's down to your own personal choice.

You can't make decision just by reading & depending to forums....u have fell it, see it & test it.

Time to get out & get one to end your misery....just like me..I'm using MSI Wind now.
