do we really need a tent to play with the sugar glider? cant we just play with them in a room with closed door and windows? anyone?
*
I think I'm the only one here who use a tent for bonding. It's cheap tent I bought from Tesco for RM35. It's a 2 men tent and I think the size is... 4x4ft. Quite big once you opened it up.

I believe it's good. I've only done tent bonding with my joeys a few times. Most of the other times I'd just keep them on my shoulders and they've never jumped off.

Later on, I will give my tents to my dogs when I move to new house.

In time, she'll be. But i see she does feel secure when she's on u.
Getting there. Like CK, i still need sumwork to do to get him bonded like KC. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jun 12 2008, 11:15 AM)
They miss you so much. CK is not so shy, would always greet me every night when I feed the night meal. KC would always be near your shirt. I'm sure when you come back, they will be happy like crazy.
*
Missing them too. Loads!!! cry.gif

CK is never shy. He was very adventurous even when he was a small joey. He'd venture everywhere.
1st day in my room he'd already went on top of my small clothing rail. 3rd day had gone on top of the curtains.
I can see nothing hardly can make him hold back. Heheh. If in a human, we wud say he'd speak his mind and when he set his mind on doing it, he'd do it . Heheh. thumbup.gif

Hehehe. Well KC is very laidback, n shy. She's the most comfortable when on me or inside of my baju. This is only during the day tho. At nite, she's a very graceful and active suggie as she'd glide and jump everywhere. smile.gif

Missing them so so so much. wub.gif wub.gif

Hi all, I need to seek for some humble advice. Judy doesn't seem to like to get into her bonding pouch these few days and sometimes refuses to do so. Even if she does, she will crab a fair bit. I have to apply some slight pressure on the pouch before she keeps quiet. Any advice on how to get her in the pouch with less crabbing or none? Thanks.

Watery poo? What have you been feeding? The poo got soft like tooth paste or is watery and like jelly?

Well, looks like she doesn't like her bonding pouch much. What you can do is do pouch feeding. When you put Judy in, feed her with some of her favourite food. I normally feed mealworms when my gliders are in my pouch. This is a training way.

Hopefully it works for you. Just needs some time. Some gliders are pouch protective, or hate their pouches. So it depends. Like my Keera, she will refuse to go into her bonding pouch when we are at home. Coz she feels comfortable and wants to explore. But once we go out the environment changes, and she would go into her bonding pouch willingly as it is her safe sanctuary.

I'm trying this with Vicky too. The problem is, she is too protective that she would attack before she even noticed the worms... sweat.gif

Right now I hold her from outside the pouch while using the other hand to offer food to avoid she launching to bite me before she sees the worms. Works so far. She crabs, see the worm, grab the worm and eat while being a little crabby. It was a funny sound actually, crabbing while eating. haha.

Hahaah... sorry lah for passing you Vicky so fast. I know you couldn't wait to get her. If not I would have trained her for a week with pouch. She was never in a bonding pouch before she went to you, so that is why pouch protective coz when she was with her breeder, she and the parents always have 1 pouch, which is the sleeping pouch.

But crab while makan memang cute. Now I train Keera as well, she is not so pouch protective anymore. It really takes time.

Will try it out. She's being in her crabby mood these few days. Hopefully she'll get out of it. As you said, it all takes time.

No problem. I'm not complaining. Having her is a great experienced for me to learn more about crabby gliders. Haha.

It wouldnt be fun if she is as laid back as Teddy because that means I have another clone, not another personal glider. thumbup.gif

Teddy is like one of my oddest joeys coz he has never crabbed before when he was under Reanne and my care. Not even hiss. Always calm and sweet. Actually, if you don't want, I would have kept him.

Emino,

lol. You are lucky to get a sweet and gentle glider as your first one. Mine was extremely crabby. Even bit Reanne's finger.

Sometimes, when left alone, she'll suddenly crab for no reason, when I run over to see her, she'll look at me like ", Uh, what?"
and start doing her own stuff.

I think she recently learn how to wake us up though. Especially on days we are supposed to get up early (I'm not an early bird) , once she'll bark like mad, another time, she escaped from her cage...and started hoping up and down on hubby, and he had no choice but to get up.

tak same la emino.
for me its not the same.
tak reti nak ckp.
taming is for me, taming sumthing that is wild. like WC glider.
bonding is to bond with the pets that are already tame.
maybe i had it wrong, but just my point of view.
