Hello guys, I'm newbie here...just accidently found this site while searching info about my engine, CPS...i'm now riding on Gen2 cps 1.6 Auto..

ok, this is my info
--------------------------

Gen2 CPS 1.6 - iridescent white - Perak's plate number 7478 - 10,000++ km already - this week will be my 3rd service..

I have questions guys..actually from what i know, CPS is what proton said while others called it VVTi, VTEC, bla bla..etc etc...
so, is this true ?

another question is, while i'm riding my Gen2, from 2600 rpm increase to 3000 rpm, there is a 'unique' sound coming from my engine..
i'm wondering if this the sound coming from my 'CPS technology'..? those valves started to play, injecting in more fuel to feed their horses..??

I need explanation from experts...

(p/s: sorry, lazy to scroll back 116 pages) blush.gif

and about my FC, on my instrument says 6.1 L/100km...hhmmm, i don't think that one is accurate.
from my experience, my 'horses' drinks about 7L of petrol per hundred..

Welcome to the club smile.gif

CPS kicks in at 3.8K RPM, what unique sound did you hear from 2.6k to 3k ?

There is a known resonance point around 2.8K for Campro/CPS engine...., where the engine tend to vibrate.

so, this means, if i drove below 3.8k, i'm not pushing my engine?

(i think 3.8k is about 130km/h)

Yours is an AT, right ? Pretty good FC there..  rclxms.gif

for me, 80% city driving, daily jam..... , only managing around 9.6km/L .....  Ouuuch....
*

The problem when calculating FC is that the fuel station pump autostop function and nozzle length is not really the same. Thus, the inaccuracy.  hmm.gif

Hmm, maybe becoz I control my foot...if not, you know la brows.gif
I'm just trying to break the 600km mark...Now I know its possible...while still got a few litre of petrol left in the tank brows.gif icon_rolleyes.gif . After this back to my old driving habit rclxm9.gif

BTW, your car got this problem where I switch off the engine, the "beep-beep" sound appear becoz the key is still inside the crank. This happen with closed doors. Happen Frequently also. doh.gif

I thought the cps start to 'open' at 6K rpm. At 2.8K rpm is the IAFM. hmm.gif

VIM switch over is at 4.8K, CPS at 3.8K.

if the CPS switch over at 6K, it wil be so near to the redline , it would be useless... blush.gif

From Proton's website, and also Paultan, CPS kicks in and 2800rpm..the graph shows comparison between ordinary campro and cps..
from the graph, at 2800rpm, ordinary campro drops power and increase again above 3000rpm..while cps will maintain the profile...

wow, i never drove my Gen2 over 4,500rpm (thats about 140km/h already), and how about 4,800rpm or 6,000rpm..
wow, scary...hehehe.. drool.gif

3,800rpm is at what speed ? never concern before..only reach 4,500rpm during overtake ~ 140km/h, and decrease back to 3,400rpm ~ 120km/h. (cruise control do it for me.. blush.gif )...

Wow, been tied up for the past week and this thread has seen tips on how to pick up chicks with wajas, R3 suspension run out of stock, and new members pouring in! Good stuff! biggrin.gif

I just got my car today and my front left fender also have this noise when cornering.  sad.gif

Also, sometimes when accelerate from stationary will have a "Tak" noise below the engine.. very slight noise only, sigh.... If ask those ppl to fix it sure they don't like it because finding noise is most mechanic hate to do job, unless DIY.  doh.gif

Congrats on your new ride! rclxms.gif

I know most ppl have this problem. I have it too. But the thing I want to know is..... has anyone got it fixed yet? They did open up my fender n hammer something under it.. and the prob went away.... for a few days.. then it came back. Is it a design problem? If everyone who has it n can't even fix it at the SC, then i'll give up lor.. but if someone has got his prob fixed before, then i wanna know how.
*
Mine seems to be fixed. They adjusted the front stabilizer bar and...poof...the sound vanished just as misteriously as it appeared.

Sorry for being so long winded.... but my Waja CPS is now 2nd time admitted into hospital liao for nagging nyet-nyet problem. My 'regular' technician was looking at my Ultra Racing bars and i thought, "Oopss". But he just asked me if the handling improved with it.  tongue.gif  Lucky! Hope they can solve it this time around.
*
So adding stabilizer bars doesn't affect the warranty? Hope they solve it for you.

Same here, use to count evry drop in the beginning. Now, just splash and dash. I do keep a check occasionally just to see if anything is odd and that's bout it.

CPS open at 3.8k rpm. Try dragging in 2nd gear and feel the surge. brows.gif The sound before that must be from the VIM, but there sould not be any noticeble sound from the VIM except when over 6k rpm, where it change to short 'runner'. nod.gif

Yes, i know about this. All new car have this feature. The weird thing is the beep2 sound will appear even when all the doors are closed. In my family satria, beep2 sound will appear only if the door is open or not closed properly. Does all waja behave like this? shakehead.gif

Just got my car back from SC. Heavy rain, so couldn't hear the nyet-nyet, overpowered by the rain! Hehe. Anyway, according to them, no more sound lah. Hopefully it lasts.
I don't rev my car that much. At most 3k. Actually, I love to hear the engine rev.... especially the exhaust sound.. Damn good!!! But in Ipoh, not much chance for me to rev nice nice..... sigh.... before i can reach 5th gear, already have to press on the brakes liao. Sien only.....

Thanks for new knowledge about cps... Actually i rev till 6k rpm as i knew before that cps engage at 6k rpm. Do it as wanna 'kejar' civic v-tect. Can cucuk2 for a while then slow down because still think about my safety.. But still can't play2 with mech compressor c200, it just like drag with a jet.. Huhu... Just can hold about 10 sec, then that mech already lost from my sigh.. sweat.gif About 160km/j (5.5k rpm on 5th gear) at pasir mas 'highway'... 6k rpm at 5 gear??? Not in my mind brows.gif

Daily drive, change gear at 3- 3.5k rpm... Not really good for fc.. 9.5l/100km... sad.gif
