Just came back after 3 days leave cool2.gif went to Melaka the during my leave wah.. so many CPS there liao.. tongue.gif this the first time drive using highway tried to go for >180km/h but seems the needle is hard to reach there.. speed cut, maybe ? hmm.gif the 3 days also gave me to check my car interior.. seems not that nice, I notice the center panel (air-cond vent, air-cond, radio etc..) is not appropriately assembled, notice some uneven "touched". I noticed also the safety belt plastic cover at the driver side, got jagged cut as well sad.gif . The plastic cover below the handbrake (near the center console) has some gap however not that wide but still when look at the passenger side it covers perfectly but at the drive side you'll notice different. what to do just live it for the rest of the car live as I come to the terms of the whistting sound when drive more than 120km/h shakehead.gif

During my 1k service they change engine oil (syntium 800, 15w50), proton gear oil, proton oil filter. They also did flush the gear oil. Not sure about . Cost rm146 + the 1k free service coupon.

Problems encounter on received Waja CPS
1. Front fender squeezing sound
2. Alignment not properly done + tyre balancing is out, steering will shake after 110km/h
3. Buzzing sound from dash board after rpm reach 2.5k-3k
4. Front passenger side wiper couldn't hold the wiper properly, after fix back it still came off
5. Air-con compressor when active tat time will have "klok klok klok" sounds
6. AT cars having problem on "check engine" light
7. 3 case of PW incident happened ATM... 1. glass drop and break 2. glass lift fail to operate 3. short circuit on the PW control on door panel
Hi guys,

I just bought waja cps a/t late last month. I ordered it at Proton Mutiara Damansara and after 1 month, I drove to Kuantan the following day after I received the car. I've tested it on highway and completed my running-in of 1000km in just 3 days. I went for 1st service at Proton Service Centre Puchong and cost me RM105.23.

However, I have encountered 3 problems which I complained during my 1st service.

1.) Air wind whistling (not sure from front or door) when driving 100km/h and above - Status: They fixed the door but the noise is still there
2.) One power-window button were wrongly fixed - Status: They fixed it. No further issue.
3.) When driving between 100km/h - 110km/h, the engine felt heavier, it growled/roared harder and louder. It's sounded like when shifting between gears when the engine roared at certain rpm, but at that speed its already at gear 4. When driving at lower or higher speed this problem doesn't exist - Status: They re-tune the engine but it made no difference.

I wanted to know if the problems are commonly faced by others especially no 1 & 3? Or no 3 is not a problem at all. Honestly its quite frustrating because the speed range 100km/h - 110 km/h is what I drive normally. Can anyone help?

me also ride AT waja cps. from what i read here most of us only hear the whistling sound > 120kmh. previously i also hear that sound when driving about 100kmh or less and found out due to window at front passenger side not close properly - need to push the window using hand and close using button at the same time - which may lead to possibility of your window drop which i think happen in my case. so far doesnt face your 3rd prob.

btw, this morning i saw a waja cps burgundy at traffic light in front of sandakan hospital. still new, coz plate no is 36**. i wonder if the driver is one of us.

Well, most of us choose this car because of the price. For 60k, u get a new car, that has HID, leather interior, foldable mirrors. Quite a comfortable ride too. Build quality is not so good lah... depends a lot on luck. Me? I was one of the not-so-lucky ones. Hehehe.... blush.gif Nvrmind lah.... cars from other makers in the same class also face qc problems (maybe not as much as proton).

All the problems listed should not be taken as indication that a particular car is not a good buy. There are various other factors should be taken into account should a prospective buyer want to buy a car. Unless the percentage of the owner facing problems is significantly high, I dont think the problems mentioned here should affect your decision making.

I bought my Waja CPS specifically to experience the new Campro CPS. I knew Waja have some known problems but it didn't deter me to get one for myself. The old problems gone only to be replaced with new ones. In my humble opinion, the total package offered by Waja CPS does indeed outweight the problems that I'm facing now. That is for a car under 70k.

With regard to problem no 3, I read some where in this forum it has something to do with the engine emitting odd noise (vibration) when driving in the range 2500 rpm. It occurred to me just now to check it out while driving from Seri Kembangan to Ikea. It turned out the speed range 100km/h - 110km/h does indeed fall into the 2500 - 3000 rpm range. Is it the same problem?

Most problem except the wind noise can be fixed during the 1k km service. nod.gif

For problem no.3, it never occurred to me. Maybe I'm using MT. Even if its happen, just rev until 4k rpm. brows.gif laugh.gif

I've notice that the engine run quieter/smoother at 4k rpm when traveling long distance. The only problem is the speed at that kind of RPM is 140km/h (scared speed trap sweat.gif )

I agree with you, for some reason, when I drive my waja cps past 120km/h the engine runs quieter and the ride became smoother (well except the whistling sound). It seems to me all the problem relating to the engine suddenly disappear.

I think, the VIM and CPS help solving CAMPRO problems when driving fast but LEM should now prioritise more on engine behaviour while driving at lower speed ( say under 120km/h) tongue.gif

On a different note, I really look forward if anyone here can organise a TT session for waja cps owner. We really can share information and probably some of us would like to seek clearer advice by directly showing the problem.

From the beginning, there seems to be some slight problem with my audio controls on my steering wheel. Normally the volume control will work fine. But occasionally, it will skip channels instead of increasing my volume. Weird. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

yeahh..i agree with sphiroth...i think, the best way to feel the car is by buying the MT...with that kind of performance n include everything..worth buying laugh.gif (for me)...my uncle civic 2.0 new generation is facing more problems...small2 problems like proton, like we discuss here....but bcoz of the name, honda..ppl seem to blind their eye...humm..but he didnt regret buying it bcoz the `others` factor haha... tongue.gif

Time to upgrade maybe. How about adding amplifier also.
