why when i test drive i wont feel so underpower?  but now heard a lot owner said it is underpower, make me feel regret to book that car
*
I heard Mitsubishi Lancer also underpower but I didn't test drive yet except Inspira that for me it's good car in term of responsive.

Definition "underpower" depends on person, if you feel ok then it should be ok.

Spend a little bit of money for good engine oil for every service. smile.gif

Thanks guys for the reply. If then I wil go for 16'. Now just looking for the design.

What brand is good? Normally how much they will take for trading in standard swift rims + tyre? I am very2 new to the car world. Any advice is much appreciated.

One more thing, which one all of u prefer? I just use my standard swift rims until the tyre is out then changing to new 16' rims at least I can feels the difference or I just change the 16' rims with no time?
*
The quicker you change the higher value you will get but it's depend on you if you feel your tyre is not good enough then you should change quickly.

I change my tyre after 5 months, luckly I got for RM1k. whistling.gif laugh.gif

I don't understand why people say it is under-power. What type of car you are comparing against? I have two Swift under the roof Y2007/8 and Y2010 respectively are serving me quite well. I am comparing it against Y2004 1.5L Vios, Y2007 City and New City, which I drove all for at least 10k KM each. All these cars have different characteristic, you need to get familiar with them. For the Vios, super ECT is no doubt super efficient, light tap will feel the urge and speed off. Y2007 City not too bad, but a tad behind Vios during pickup, the New City, gear-change not smooth and need to rev quite high to get the car speed off. For the Swift, power comes at High RPM as well. Floor it after 70km/h and tell me if it is still under-power. Even maintaining at 2500rpm for greater fuel efficiency, from stand-still to 70km/h will pull it off easily. If you still feel your Swift is under-power, have it checked or you will need to define "under-power". smile.gif

Suzuki swift sport is awesome

I went for a test drive yesterday and it was awesome

I was able to drift on a U-turn traffic light.

But the car is still so dam expensive.

i have not tested the Vios, heard it's king of traffic light sprinting due to its light body...

i have a City VTEC 08, quite ok lar, power is there when you need it just not that use to the rubber band CVT effect tongue.gif

New City is one of the worst new cars i've driven... sluggish... damn hard suspension... the only that's nice about this car is the outlooks and spaciousness...

as for the Swift... didn't have chance to go on the highway cos the Jalan 222 SA for some reason brought me to those winding roads behind the showroom... but memang syok lar... handling is surprisingly superb for such a tall car... shocking.gif
maybe you are right, its a high revving engine... power comes after 3k rpm, anything lower than that is doh.gif
but any time better than New City...

The underpower feeling is very subjective. It depends on what other cars you drive. For me, at the beginning it felt a little underpower because i drive higher cc cars and the power is almost instantaneous.

Swift may be slow when it's from standstill but if you press a little harder, look at the speedometer, it increases quite fast to 60km/h but you don't feel it (could be because of the weight/handling). If the rpm is high, no issue about the power.

Another thing i experienced few days ago, the cars feels like no power if there isn't enough air in the tyres ( or may be in my head tongue.gif)

Throttle response and engine produce lower torque at lower rpm thus most people will feel its under powered for start and go situation.

Head on to swift club malaysia to learn more about the pros and cons of this car smile.gif

Yup I did test drive New City I can say Swift is far better in handling and give full of confidence when drive at Town or congested roads

For acceleration Swift is fine and New City is better.

Fuel consumption merely same but it all depends on driver handle the car.

The interior looks cheap and plasticky just exterior looks aggressive.

I said New City is overpriced for RM90k. sweat.gif

Use BHP petrol it really suitable for Swift. I tested between Shell and BHP for 3 months using same route 80% City 20% highway and the conclusion

Shell 97 has great power but not wise in mileage (400km-420km)

BhP 97 has good power and great mileage (450km-470km)

Now I'm trying Caltex...Will update result later. smile.gif

Great info sharing. I just try with Shell 97 and I got around 430km for RM80. I will try to use it for a few times more. Try to get the statistic more accurate. smile.gif

BhP is quite hard to find now. Looking forward with ur Caltex result. biggrin.gif

How long is the waiting list for the swift ?
I checked on Mudah, why is it some swifts have double exhaust pipes and a spoiler when it is brand new? Is it the premier model?

once your loan approved, around 1 week can get.

mine almost a month because i ask for WUS no. so have to wait until 21 dec for the number to start running.

on Mudah, that is Hikari or Sport bodykit which u can ask if you want to add. Premier model got extra leather seat & vkool tint if im not mistaken.
