Swift - a GREAT long distance car for driver + passenger. The seat is so wide, comfortable and hold you well. Compare it with other H/T brand car in the same category, you will appreciate the comfort.

Handling and road holding on highway, nothing of segment B cars from the H and T brand can compete. Simply excellent! Handling is on par with my bigger >2-tonne car at 160km/h. The car's weight is not the problem because of its very well designed aerodynamic.

The only problem is the car build quality, rattles on the first day which can't be solved by Suzuki Malaysia. I really don't bother because it's one great little car to drive.
Pickup from 0km/h is slower than same segment H or T car, but once your speedo hits above 60km/h, try to floor it and feel the push, quite effortlessly.
Sound insulation is not as good, but not bad either. The engine doesn't have any fierce roaring like the T car.

If I am not ferrying any passenger behind, I will pick my Swift for outstation and leave my elephant (which is an excellent cruiser by the way) behind without giving a second thought!

Question is, will Malaysia be getting the same variants available abroad? I think there's a 1.3L engine for current Swift too but this is not sold in Malaysia.

i guess so too. it has just recently launched in UK? even if suzuki brings it to malaysia, it will be in a form of CBU first, follow by CKD maybe a year later?
from the UK spec, i notice only 1.2L available.

if you check out 2nd hand market, swift command quite a good price, even higher than toyota! i'm surprised.

i'm like you, considering of getting a 2nd one, but the new swift really looks refreshing to my eyes.

2 years?! That would mean 2012, eh? Which also mean the current Swift is on Malaysian road for 7 years by then. IMO, the Swift design is still quite contemporary and may not look outdated 2 years down the road.
