currently 3300km. u sure i gotta rev it more? my dad advising me not to as it will damage the pistone?
*
engine won't damage that easily unless u keep rev it to the red zone, ie >6000rpm

break-in engine is a must to train your engine when it is young, the best time to do it is after the 1st service, between 1000km-5000km. I dunno much of the details, you can open a thread to ask about that

CKD swift is pre-run in already, no need to have a run-in period after you purchase the car

hey bro! i've got that stupid problem too. have you encountered overheating yet? careful bro. mine overheated badly, had to stop the car for half an hour before moving on. suxx like sh1t for a 2 month old ride. forget about going back to your dealer. they'll only kick you back to Suzuki Malaysia at Glenmarie. that's what happened to me. 2 service centres couldnt find out what the problem was, i had them re-do all the damn wiring in the car but i've still got the problem. got this sh1tty sound coming out when the car is idling or not moving. suspect it's the radiator fan, but i dont have time to go get it checked out properly. regret buying a new swift, shoulda gone with the 2nd hand x-trail instead, one of my friends driving a 2 year old CBU has no problems at all.

what's your mileage like (km/l)? when i started having problems with the damn car, the fc went up alot. i started with 12.6 to 12.8km/l. now it's only 10+km/l!

after driving for a month. i started to get bored with this car. noo acceleration!! everyday driving only 80-90kph. previosly driving my mom's honda odyssey, use to drive at lease 100kph to 140kph. can easily reach 160, but with this car, 110 also susah to reach!

handling wise its superb.

as for FC,
first full tank 520km

and each time i pump 80 got 335km , 385km, 375km and 355km .

driving for a person like me living in kota kemuning and studying in subang. average meter got 12.6km/l
*
u gotta b kidding man ... my 3rd gear go all the way to 110km/h ... D goes all the way to 175km/h

overdrive? swift got OD function???
*
It does... the Swift runs on a 4-speed automatic transmission, that means 3 forward gears and 1 overdrive gear... To turn off OD, just slip it down to "3" from "D"...

Hi guys.. biggrin.gif
There seems to be some unatisfied swift owners here.

I really love my Swift. Yeah, I too felt it was underpowered especially before 5K milage.

I just did my 1st service at 10K using Mobil 1 5w30 and change my splugs to iridium.

Now.. my car is swift as the name given... easy to overtake and no need to press the pedal hard to make it move. My average FC is about 15 - 16 km /l with a 60%city+ 40%highway driving.. (it's OK i guess)

Oh well.. i think buying a car is more of a luck.. and it is the way you drive what's important. As long as you know how to handle ur Swift.. it should be OK. Sometime I do rev it high at the highway just to test its swiftness. So far i have no problem with my swift performance. I drove a corolla and sometimes drives a 2005 VIOS and a FIT.. but I like the fun driving of a SWift more.

.. just my 2 cent

this is a very good alternative to big P and small P, and for people who cannot afford Jazz, Polo, Latio...
