Singapore, June 19: GCT Semiconductor, a leading supplier of mobile WiMAX solutions to the global market, and Green Packet Berhad (Green Packet), a leading developer of next generation mobile broadband and networking solutions, today announced collaboration to bring the world's first intelligent connection management solution that delivers seamless connectivity and handover between WiMAX and WiFi. The Green Packet "Intouch Connectivity Manager" integrates Green Packet's Mobile IP solution with GCT's GDM7215, the industry's first single-chip solution supporting both mobile WiMAX IEEE 802.16e Wave 2 and WiFi 802.11 b/g.

Green Packet's "Intouch Connection Manager" also supports multiple connection modes such as WAN and LAN in addition to WiMAX and WiFi. This unique combination is aimed at providing WiMAX operators with service differentiation factors allowing them to gain revenue not only from network access but from value-added services as well.

Yes, if not mistaken, there are 4 companies with Wimax licenses. Unfortunately seems like only P1 is committed, at least they appear to be before. No news from the other companies.

How do you know they won't block BT?

I'm not so sure about the coverage of Wimax in JB in June. But they said they will cover 25% of population by year end.

Really ?. any source or link to backup your statement. I highly doubt they test BitTorrent traffic too.
