What is this 5%?

I heard there are alot of ASB loan technique. Mind sharing some of the best?

1 more question, which bank is better for ASB financing? Maybank or CIMB?

Loan hunting at several banks this past few days.
CIMB : 5.1%
-might get 4.8% if using family plan(loan under your name for family member account)
-insurance not compulsory
-30years period

Maybank : 5.2%
-give me false hope as they said they can give me 4.8% during consultation, later tell me they need to increase because I dont have loan with them(I specifically told them i have CIMB LASB during consultation)
-25years period
-insurance not compulsory

RHB : 5.2% for first 4 years and 4.8% afterwards (this rate 2 days before OPR reduce, not sure current rate)
-25years
-insurance compulsory

I guess now is not really a good time to take LASB, Banks are still adapting to the new OPR and give contradicting advise. I will take a wait and see approach until I find a better deal.

Yes. Same formula, get the longest tenure with minimum insurance.
Keep in mind that bank offer higher interest rate for loan below 100k

Own money and take the maximum you can. Because you only have so much time to build capital. Time passed is opportunity lost. The faster you can compound the interest, the more you can collect later...

Currently I'm having 2 ASB:

1. MBB, 50K, 25 years, since August 2012, (RM298/month)
2. CIMB, 150K, 30 years, since November 2014 (RM846.28/month)

Actually I've got some extra money from my student allowance so I just open another account.
But in future I've to use my own money which is actually not enough to support the second account.
So far everything is well return. And in case if I need to pay back the student loan I will just take out the dividend.

Hi, i need to know which one is more profitable?

1) Save own money every month into ASB (~RM1,500) per month

or

2) Take 200k asb loan, use monthly salary to pay the loan and let the divident pile up?

MBB playing tough nowadays...only give 5.0 to existing customers by credit rating. and who have PTPTN and you didn't pay well, forget about taking ASB Loan. They're linked now. (this is what my banker told me) but I think this is a good move. Pay your hutang first la then talk about other investment. biggrin.gif
