Hi all. I just wanna ask. Last week I called public bank to ask about my interview status on 24th of january. on their side they said that they already give feedbacks and replied to all applicants but in my case I havent receive any emails (inbox/junks) from their side. They noted on that and they said they will get back to me later. I asked then either I were being accepted or not but they sticked to their answer that they will get back to me later to give me the interview feedback.

Is there anyone here has the same situation with me before? Why it seems so complicated for HR people to just tell me the results? I have the feelings that I didnt get the offer but still hoping..

PBB normally will send emails if the applicant was not successful. Anyway, if they are interested in hiring you, you will normally get calls from HR on and off asking some questions. So if you don't, chances would be quite low for you.

Analysis is required more on commercial / corporate loans I guess. Consumer loans probably yes, system does most of the analysis.

I just want to share my exp on the interview sesaion.

I got a call from pb on 20th feb, she said she got my resume from Graduan.com. Then arranged for interview the next day, 21st. She sent an email of the documents that i need to bring during the iv. Make aure you have all the docs, or else GG.

Arrived at pb, in front of klcc. Then go 11th floor, submit the documents at the front desk. Then, there were about 30-40 people waiting to be interviewed. They will give you a form, with quesstionaire and you need to answer while waiting for your turn. Easy question, can google la if you want.

Interview was scheduled on 230, but i waited for 2 hours. Nothing to complain la, now graduan cannot be choosy.

2 interviewers, both were super friendly. Nothing technical, as i am an engineering graduate. Make sure you know which side do you want, sales or non sales. I chose non sales, specifically on, risk management and cred analyst. They briefly explained on few other positions. But for engineers, generally thats what they will offer(that was what they said). Few questions that i still remember, they ask what i understand about cred analyst, my strength and few other general questions. Easy la, just be honest.

Overall experience was good. But the waiting is long so be prepared. I am still waiting for the email. They said it will need 2-3 weeks. So, yeah. Thats all from me folks!

Wah after 7 years, this thread still alive? I remembered I did applied for PBB at HQ near KLCC 7 years ago after I graduated. Basically, I applied almost all banks to be honest. As a naive boy, I eagerly hope that I'll be selected as the starting salary was RM 2.8k. I'm shock till today the offer is still the same. The post was Management Trainee. Sadly, turn up to be a sales job.

I remembered there were about 40-50 people attended the interview. All dressed very smart. Very competitive. PBB kot~ Haha.. There were 3 interviewers as I remembered. Ask me introduce myself and basic banking questions. Maybe my results were bad, so I didn't get selected sweat.gif

Anyhow, past is past. Got a stable job now and stable salary hehe. To those who didn't get it no worries, its not the end of the world. There are still many jobs outside the market. Don't be so choosy. You need good attitude and working quality if you want to survive in corporate ladder. Banking line is not an easy industry. You may need to work your ass off or even weekends as per told by my friends in banking line.

All the best guys~

Hello. I got a call from the HR of PB regarding my application and they said I will be placed at one of the branches in my hometown as a credit analyst, yet they added that I need to contribute around 30-40% of the sales. Has anyone received such kind of offer?

On a side note, I have been waiting for a week now after I did my medical checkup. How long will it take normally for the HR to contact regarding our application process? They said that I can start around next week but until now, there is no word from them.

Anyone?

Thank you.

Yeah during my interview also they mention that 30% of my job would be sales, but it's mainly cross-selling la so it's not that bad. Usually how it works is that each branch will have their own set of targets to achieve, even for the credit department. So, branch manager usually will assign each of the "credit analyst" a target to help the branch to reach the target la. Target if don't achieve then gg lo during meeting. They don't scold you kaw kaw la/fire you la if you don't meet the assigned target but the BM will ask la why didn't meet sales target? So kena jawab la...

First job cannot be picky mah.. hahahah biggrin.gif

But ya lor 2.8k for the first year, no OT, no bonus (this one not sure, but most probably no lo), always stay back until 8pm everyday haizz.. sometimes staff also don't want to help new trainee because they all know the trainee will cabut after few months..so it's like wasting time teaching them.

BTW what you said is true for consumer loans..just use CCRIS to generate score. But once you move up to commercial got analysis to do la.

Management trainee for Public Bank will not rotate you. You will be asked on which department you want to be in and then you’ll be there until you retire or resign la haha..

There’s only a week or two during your first year that you’ll be put in a different department (at Jalan Sultan Sulaiman) under the COD I think and that’s it.

Depends on your qualifications as well. I was asked which department I wanted to be in and I answered credit. Then one week later they offered me the position.

Should be able to, but it depends how quick you'll get your computer access la coz you need to apply through the system.

Working in HQ? Quite difficult la. I'm second upper from one of the "atas" university also they only offer branch level trainee credit analyst.
