100kbps is definitely the capped speed. Try this afternoon and get the same thing.

Do you get SMS for the data volume runs out?

I get 2 SMS.

1. You are nearing your subscribed package's volume quota. Your speed will be reduced once you reach the quota

2. You have reached your volume quota. Once you are directed to the portal, your speed will be reduced. Buy more data volume to enjoy uncapped speeds.

I don't get directed to portal thou cause am not using maxis modem.

100kbps per month. Sigh~ Lets hope they would not get any lower. If it does, definitely need to terminate already.

Which one should it be for 3G and Maxis BB? HSPA? HSUPA? HSDPA?
*
The network protocol used by Maxis BB in my area is WCDMA and not HSDPA. However, for Celcom and U-Mobile. It is HSDPA.

Anyone here gotten the HSDPA network coverage at your area? If so, what is the speed like?

For maxis BB, I can get 3.6Mbps during off peak hours before my speed get capped.. (my modem can't get higher than 3.6 cause it does not support HSPA+ 7.2 Mbps but it is ok. I would get capped anyway.)

I suppose , you might be able to get higher with WCDMA network too.

WCDMA = 3G = 384kbps

HSDPA/HSPA = 3.5G = 1.8mbps, 3.6mbps, 7.2mbps, 14.4mbps

HSPA+ = 3.75G = 42mbps, 84mbps

4G = more than 100mbps

currently indonesia launching 42mbps HSPA.. laugh.gif

Using Win7 Home Premium. Real plug and play, no need of any software whatsoever. Plug it in and I'm connected.

Not sure.. but mine is unlocked. When I click connect, it will connect me to HSPDA rather than HSPA. For HSPDA I could not get any download data, but there was upload data sent. If I don't use the Huawei E1762 software, (By manually connecting via Network Options), it will be connected to HSPA. The signal for HSPA is quite weak, but WMCDA is strong.

I have no idea what connection I'm connected to, since Win7 don't provide much details, just the connection name and signal bars only. I'm only looking for the cyan light.

I didn't use that dashboard. Win7 connects using the modem automatically whenever I plug it in. It indicates similar to WiFi, name, signal and nothing else.

That is what i think too but I can get 3.6Mbps. So, it is definitely 3.5G.

After much digging, this is what i found

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Speed_Packet_Access

QUOTE
High Speed Packet Access (HSPA)[1]  is a collection of two mobile telephony protocols, High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA), that extends and improves the performance of existing WCDMA protocols

For some strange reason, my modem is still detecting WCDMA but running on HSDPA speed. Guess that is the problem when am not using Maxis modem.

got a question here...

let's say i wanna terminate my package, no contract....

my billing date is 28 of every month...

Q1: Do i have to go to Maxis center a few days earlier to inform them that i wanna cancel my account and ask them not to bill?..say like 5-6 days before billing date?..

Q2: or can i just go on the 27th and ask them to cancel my account immediately?..which my billing date is the next day, 28 of every month...

pls advise...
