QUOTE(future80 @ Apr 2 2010, 03:25 PM) yes all modem can unlock, as the firmware/software inside the device is a program. if u r powerful programmer, u should able to do it. ok, very good point and very educational...very informative too...u see iphone also can be unloacked. as well as got people do it and publish/share, we r able to get unlocked thingy. of couse unlocked thing is not fair to those original device owner/company. NOW...how to do it?...dun mind to share?... |

QUOTE(dyaf @ Apr 4 2010, 10:29 AM) Ok, i called the customer service yesterday, from what i understand is that when you exceed your volume limit, your speed would throttle, for e.g. you start off with 7.2 Mbps, once you reach 1.5GB, it would cut down, may be half (may be 3.6 Mbps). oic..phase by phase lah...hmmm..tats fair too i tink...otherwise no point to pay more.. And if you continue to utilize more, it would cut down more (may be now 1.8 Mbps) and so on up to the point it is very slow but it would not stop entirely lar i heard, just probably not useful for video streaming and gaming anymore. The throttle happen phase by phase. Maxis reserve the right to decide how much they would cut down the speed stated in the contract. So, the cut by half is just my theory. It could be that they would immediate cut to 128kbps or lower, who knows. The customer service agent also mentioned that if your speed has become too slow, you can always go to maxis broadband website to increase the FUP, it would be billed later to your monthly fee. Not quite sure what is the amount, can check yourself. Basically, you can increase or restore your volume allowance when you want it if the speed is too slow for you. So basically, I would say, you pay what you get. The less you pay, the less you get. which is fair lar IMHO. but at least it is phase by phase, not like Digi i heard is IMMEDIATELT 128kbps...i tink i will give maxis a shot for 2 months.. |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Apr 4 2010, 06:16 PM) Ok, I get the rough idea. I just want to make sure that it won't become RM78 after certain promotional period. the modem from Maxis is locked i tink...and u needa unlock it if u want to switch to other telco. With the great deal, who wouldn't want the package with modem? There seems to be no extra charges after all. There's also Advanced Lite Youth for RM48/month. The difference I see is only no free modem and larger quota per month. Assuming I'm a very casual user, it feels that the normal RM48/month with modem package is more worth. |

maxis i notice they got the 7-day satisfaction guarantees...
how does it work?... let's say if i subscribe the Rm 48.00 package, pay Rm78.00 upfront (will be adjusted in the 2nd month, meaning 2nd month i only pay Rm18), THEN if within 7 days i cancel and use the 7-day guarantees, would they refund all the Rm78.00?... anyone?..Sifu game333, pls advise...
