is the 3gb/ month cap for real? i just got the broadband yesterday and already using up .5GB. this doesnt even make sense and i wanna return it before my 7 day free trial period ends. i use bolehvpn to download torrents but not sure if that can avoid the cap. advice?
*

highest i reached was 12GB (no screenshot as i'm using other laptop last time) .. i can assure you that 3GB bandwidth cap was a crap/myth. but i do recall in their T&C, it's stated that capping start after 20GB.

never reach 20GB tho because of their pathetic speed.

it is a retarded choice laugh.gif --- if you didn't test for maxis connection first. borrow la from someone or ask people around your neighbourhood first.

Welcome to slow broadband Malaysia.

Nice to see another forumer from Pasir Puteh, Ipoh Central

That speed is even slower then snailmix. There is no use complaining.HSDPA is highly subscribed here.
622ms response it hardly suitable for gaming and live streaming.
You can forget about voice over IP and the video conferencing.

You have 2 choices:

1) Wait for P1 WIMAX

2) Get a phoneline and use wired broadband instead.

From your speedtest result it's very likely you're just on 3G UMTS and not HSDPA.
The ping rate is unusually high which further adds to this conclusion.

What modem do you use?

If it's a HSDPA capable modem try bringing your laptop to somewhere in the middle of Ipoh and retest.
Probably where Stimix did his test near Jln Yang Kalsom.

I dont even understand why the maxis bb performance in my area (UTM Skudai) is so bad..
the network always drop down to GPRS from WCDMA and sometimes it stated HSDPA but the speed is so ridiculous.
Anyone having same problem like me? vmad.gif vmad.gif

FYI, this is my first time using the broadband service and tell me, what do you think about my 1st impression on our ISP??
all i can say is they just like a leech.keep on sucking our RM w/o benefiting us..any comment from the floor whistling.gif whistling.gif

U are staying at those blind spot area...no choice..probably upgrade your modem to hi-gain USB modem of buy ext antenna (Search in ebay or garage sale..not cheap)..Or switch to 3G instead of BB...so far less complain on those wth 3G compare to BB
