They do look good, and people say they're also good as a comfort upgrade. They do make a Grado look (and apparently feel) more classy and expensive.

I am considering on buying it for the SR60i and hoping that I could make it sell easier. With the new headband, and the recent recabling, I wonder if I could cover those two expenses, plus add a tiny bit more (still a bit cheaper than new). If I couldn't sell the SR60i with the new headband, then I'd actually lose a lot more money. Decisions decisions. hmm.gif

no no no no... Haha. Seriously, if that's the money u wanna spend, i think u gotta spend it after u tried it, especially comparing it with some other brands of similar pricing.

Btw, try iFi micro DSD for the start. Or get an iCan which has bass boost and 3D. I can't say it will improve, but at least somewhere to start eh? haha. Tubes, especially the ones I tried before, eg. Bravo, is more suitable for high output impedance stuffs. It has quite a power, and I don't think Grado needs moar powah. Maybe something delicate, or jazzy. Lol. whatever that means.
*
Thanks for the advice. Any repercussions if I use a Grado with something that is meant for high-output impedance stuff? hmm.gif

What about a Schiit Magni + Modi? Heard a lot of people talking about this combo also hehe. Seems to be quite affordable as well!

This is the bowl pad. They improves the soundstaging and very comfortable. I am wearing spec and I dont feel the clamp.
*
Improves the soundstaging eh? I know the soundstage will change but no one has mentioned wether it improves or worsens. Btw, is this the L-Cush or the G-Cush bowl pad?

If too high, then it could affect the tonality of the sound. Not necessary true, headphone by headphone basis.

Magni + Modi is a cheaper solution. Can't say it'll sound good, coz it's ear-to-ear basis. But definitely worth a shot. Audition it first!

Soundstage improves as in the distance between the headphone speakers and your ears widened, so the sound traveled more distance to reach your ears, and thus you feel the wider soundstage. Not necessary more precise, but perhaps wider.

Assuming you pair something that has an output-impedance amp, you risk having bass roll off as the damping factor becomes smaller, where the bass may sound looser instead of tighter.

Other issues of mismatching is clipping and distortion, especially distortion where the power delivery is mismatched.

It improves to me, because I wanted wider soundstage which you get better positioning. Normal pads sound very forward.

Will do. I'll try to get a feel for it first if possible. Thanks for the explanation on soundstage! Btw what is your music sources? Just wondering what you are feeding your ears. biggrin.gif

Thanks for your input bro. That's one more thing to keep in mind when purchasing stuff. There really is a lot for me to learn here. hmm.gif

Just had my SR60i recabled. Now the length is more manageable, and I'm having a hard time letting it go. tongue.gif
