Thanks for the advice. Any repercussions if I use a Grado with something that is meant for high-output impedance stuff?  hmm.gif

What about a Schiit Magni + Modi? Heard a lot of people talking about this combo also hehe. Seems to be quite affordable as well!
Improves the soundstaging eh? I know the soundstage will change but no one has mentioned wether it improves or worsens. Btw, is this the L-Cush or the G-Cush bowl pad?

Assuming you pair something that has an output-impedance amp, you risk having bass roll off as the damping factor becomes smaller, where the bass may sound looser instead of tighter.

Other issues of mismatching is clipping and distortion, especially distortion where the power delivery is mismatched.

Tried various Grado's version over the last few years, depends really if you like their kind of sound and odd construction. Also doesn't help it is highly uncomfortable on the bowl pads for long listening periods which is kind of a turn off.

So far the RS1/RS2 tried previously couple years back have been my favourite. That can be said however that the PS1000/PS500 is an absolute piece of horribly tuned flagship with its hot treble, almost non-existant sub low end bass extension and the price they are charging is absolutely bizarre as well.

All these of course was through the non-e version which was the older version.

Either way, there has been an existing thread for Grado headphones previously.
