Bought the Grado-Alessandro from Jaben during the KLIAV show recently. Superb headphones. Running it via MF X-CANV3 amp. Very airy and open sound. However, having problem with the right can. It keeps coming off from the slim metal stick. A bit dissapointed on the build quality though.

Easy. Use superglue to glue the black cap thing in place.

Mine is not the black cap thingy nor the slim metal is loose. Mine is the whole right can came off. Dont like superglue too. Point is, at that price, i would expect a better and sturdy built.

you think i can re-cap only, but i think you can re-cable only
re-cable is so easy. just solder the cable only. easier than re-capping. if use audio jack can hide all the ugly solder job inside the plug head. if people want to see your DIY they will go to your own thread.

so stop harassing me wink.gif

It only goes to show how little you know about audio by your statement above, and how immature of you, arguing for the sake of argue, without even thinking much. You really sound like a kid by all your posts today.

You sir are really disgusting. wink.gif

Eh. My SR60s right side slipped off the metal thingy too.

Here's what I did. I heated up the metal thingy and wobbled it back into the slot melting a little bit of plastic to keep it in place, works like a charm. :3

i think theres a huge difference between the righteousness of his post here and yours in the recommendation thread and i believe you should rethink what u just said about re-cable

yeah.. can do like that
but.. if more than 1 times. don't do this methods. as it will makes the holes bigger and bigger.
usually i will ask people to get CLEAR EPOXY (usually i use Bostik Brand) available in most jusco.
comes in small tubes, and very cheap.
take the one with 5 tonnes capability.
then put a bit in the holes
wait for 24 hours until it's totaly dry.
i do fix quite a numbers of grado headphone with that.
even those sending in for recable and has potential of loosen.. i oso help apply a bit on it. =)

I was thinking of Epoxy too but then the hole seems a little bit too small for me to squeeze something into so I used the hotrod method. XD

Dear beggermaster bro, I hope ur tone in the replies and posting should be not so offensive. I sometimes wants to bash ur posting but I resisted due to the idea I kept in mind that offending someone is not always u want in ur life, why makes ur life so hard? U might need their help someday when u r in trouble.

I personally thinks this is the best thread showing how u can mod your grado/alessandro for further improvement. Don't see any appropriateness in the post.

Pcwork's recabling is one of the best I found and it is not flimsy and "cin cai do" type. The cable is quite sturdy even and last very long on the connecting. The cable he try one by one to do matching. Not like someone simply find a cable and do it and post it here.

I have to agree with what walabies and the others had said regarding PcWork's recabling product. It is not just taking any cable as he pleases and just solder them, he makes sure that each of them sounds how he expects them to sound that its best. He tests each of them based on quality and sound reproduction as well, and I have no doubt in his quality of work. nod.gif

So, why the attack on another people? Is your credibility is on the line? Or you just wanna tick someone off because of jealousy? wink.gif
