Thank you for the recommendation btother teoh. I doubt that I will be letting go the MS1 below RM328 or below as you are fully aware of my next purchase. Anyway, local disty is out of stock and their Singapore counter part sharing the same situation too.

For sure I didn't think it will be below RM328 with the goodies that are on it but if I were on the lookout for a pair of cans in that range, surely your MS1 is the safest bet. At least it is for me. Even if it means paying more for it. They look really awesome though I have to say

No problem bro. Good stuff must and will always be recommended
Yes, let's meet up when your gears arrive. We can exchange some thoughts too and I cannot wait to let my fingers slither around your new baby The Darkvoice 332 and my GS1000 definitely has synergy. Even right out of the box, the 332 exhibits drive and energy that is to die for. At least my ears tell me. It can only get better once they are fully run in and when the tube rolling fun starts |

I messaged Arremie about his MS1 as well.
Shall PM outdoorexplorer about his price. Since it's recabled I don't think it'll go any lower than RM400? But... errr... yea, I'm thinking of opting for the MS1 cause SR-60s out of stock in MBD. And getting a RM480 pair of headphones @ 400 is definitely more alluring than getting new SR-60s at RM328. XD @ MBD SR-80s are RM 428... 325i are at 1.1k plus. >_< This post has been edited by Yuki Ijuin: May 29 2008, 12:16 AM |

I know his recabled cans are definitely worth it so I have to echo your sentiments on it being better (both in value and performance) over a new SR60. Oh the gear's actually sitting in the hall. It has this little beddie thingy from Ikea beside it so I make use of that
The DV332 was purchased from Davis. I'd hate to bring one in from China myself. The shipping charges and customs declaration is just too much a hassle for me. I have been toying around with different combo and this setup works best for me. The CDP really bangs for its price and importantly it suits my listening tastes - and wallet |

Contrary to the popular belief that the DV332 suits Senns HD650 best (and Grados simply die on them), I am inclined to say it does a marvelous job driving my GS1000. Ok, the Grados are known to have a slight edge on the highs (slight depending on model and tastes) but the DV332 tames what needs taming and gives you back that sheer musical enjoyment you are looking for with your cans. Bass goes deep and tight. This is one of the most noticable improvements the DV332 has brought. Soundstage (or headstage if you will) is a lot wider and details GALORE!
What the DV332 is particular about (at least my ears tells me) are the the types of interconnects you put between itself and the source. It makes no effort to hide the fact that it knows you are changing cables. I've had four different interconnects at my disposal - vDH The First, DH Labs Silver Sonic BL-1 SII, a Cardas Quadlink 5C and a Wireworld Solstice - and you can tell they all sound different! VDH - clean and almost dead-flat neutral presentation, slight hum audible - a sonic trait of The First on tubes. BL-1 SII - best synergy among the four - dead quiet, fluid, good tonal balance (surprising isn't it for silver) - VALUE FOR MONEY! Quadlink 5C - a bit bass heavy but otherwise equal to that of the BL-1 SII in every way but a lot more expensive Wireworld Solstice - good with most recordings, soundstage narrows down if ever so slightly - it's a typical all-rounder with no specialization (some people like this) The DV332 has done let's see, 35-40 hours and 332 gurus say they really open up to a new level when they hit the 200 hour mark. I'm waiting anxiously because as it is with stock tubes, they sound fantabulous to my ears. |

Of course I'd like to own say a RSA RAPTOR II or a Rudistor RPX-33 and I am sure they sound better than the DV332 but they are in a different league, carrying price tags that are very account damaging. I still feel the DV332 is the best compromise and has the most bang for the buck. It's like the Grado line - after the SR225 or SR325i, the differences are probably minimal but what you pay to buy those small differences is HUGE.
By the way, I own a modified Musical Fidelity X-Can V2 also (it has a very nice pair of Mullards E88CC in it too) and the stock DV332 trumps it hard out of the box. That tells you so much about the DV332's potential |

Xcan is not a good pair with grados as it pushes the area what grado is strong at, which is bad. Too much is always bad... I can't say I wholly agree because the X-Can worked wonders on my SR325i, which is notoriously known for being Grado's brightest. I would say the GS1000 are a lot more picky and demanding with what you pair it with. The DV332 seems to be able to give it what it needs to perform so I am pleased with the synergy that exists between the two.

No luck getting the MS-1s from Outdoor. Someone is offering a waaaay higher price than I can afford. XD
So my fate lies with arremie's Stock MS-1s... Then I'd have to buy some SR-60 pads cause I like those better. XD |

Sorry about that
Outdoorxplorer's cans are really worth the money. You mentioned MBD is now selling the SR60 for RM328 is that right? If you go to Lelong, Davis is still selling the SR60 for RM292.50 while the SR80 is going for RM388.80. Apart from MBD, Davis is also a reseller for Grados because I bought my SR325i from him. MBD focuses on walk in sales while Davis do the online ones... Here's the link: http://list.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/List.as...MyAuctionType=1 Good luck. |

Does anyone here know the current price of a replacement bowl pad from MBD? I remember it was RM50 two years back when I bought my headphones.
