@Acecombat, Why not pair with E8600 or E8400 E0 stepping later? I heard this E0 helps GTL Voltage Reference.

wah....i know D9 is great with new chipset due to enhance memory performance in the chipset.
but still i using 2x2GB DDR1000mhz. cry.gif

Actually what is the difference between the P5Q series

P5Q
P5Q-E
P5Q-Pro
P5Q-Premium
P5Q-Deluxe

Maxiumus 2

From what i see it's just the difference between the phase of the power supply? And the number of lan ports/sata ?

The maximus looks different though

Judging from the mobo, other than the maximus, they are quite similar

P5Q has no vdrop but it makes my processor hotter than usual since it gives higher voltage on auto.

About VDroop, it depends on the Voltage that you set. For my case (Rampage formula), when I set the voltage to 1.5125, I didn't see any vdroop at all. However, when I set voltage to 1.5000, it will has 0.01 to 0.005 vdroop.

loadline calibration doesnt work that way
use a vmm to check

on load.. voltage increase instead of decrease

Mind to let us know what is VMM you mean?

I am using CPU-Z or Asus Probe II to check the voltage.

Different phases for each series. And number of SATA and LAN ports too. The P5Q Premium is almost the same as Deluxe but it has 4 Gigabit LAN ports instead of 2 on the Deluxe (Challenging Giga's board I suppose). The Premium also has a slight improve on the SATA/IDE layout compared to Deluxe. Next, ROG board does not have Express Gate feature IINM.

Added on July 7, 2008, 8:26 pmOh yeah is this possible with air cooling ?

not going to make everything easy for u..
kekek sorry nothing personal

but i spoon fed a few ppl in lyn .. and they turn out to be idiots..
so stopped doing that already

yes u can do this with air..

the clocks above was done with gigabyte 3d mercury galaxy case which has a inbuilt watercooling kit
i would say the performance is about the same as IFX 14 air cooler but not as noisy

just use the nb and fsb voltage

the pll voltage.. hmm thats a debate.. actually 1.5v stable..
but once like in a blue moon .. my ram bandwidths like flutters
found that changing that stablize is somewhat..

also the vcore i increased it a bit around 0.03v...
reason cause of loadline...

again for my proc is stable at 1.28v.. but because of loadline.. i increase it for stability for idle.. since the temps were low already

have fun guys..
i still find the striker formula 2 a fantastic overclocking board even compared to my maximus 2 formula
this is a really good board..

Yeah i agree the only problem is the video corruption thingy. You didn't update to 1305 bios any reason? You enable loadline? I reading a lot of debate on whether loadline is good or harm the cpu?

loadline doesnt harm ure cpu...
raja.. anandtech fella.. first oppose of it..
and then guess what on all the other boards after that he was clocking with it...

sishh
no corruption problem at all..
actually never had it from the beginning..maybe cause every setting i entered manually??
