after my new psu arrive on friday i'll fix all the creepy wire and then try oc it abit.

ya.. coz the intel push pins will giv u a nightmare.. makes u feel like unsecured n hard to fix it in.. and will bend ur mobo after long time usage..

I find it generates similar amounts of heat on E21XX procs, but definitely gives a stability report faster than orthos/prime. And no, that voltage isnt too high, but I think you should be able to get it stable at 3ghz using near stock volts, like 1.325v, unless your proc is a poor clocker

well i can only get it stable at that vcore.
and i use intelburntest to test it.lower than that the test result is full of error.

No choice la then. Are you still using stock cooling? that could play a part too

Ensure you have :

1. good PSU, HSF, OCable mobo
2. readups on OCing, and u'll know what u fiddle around
3. lastly, or maybe u just had a luck on a 'lousy' batch of cpu

on cooling for below rm150, go for hyper 212... super cooler

I tried a stock vcore 1.325v chip and went to 3.51ghz,wall at more or less 390fsb

well that is what i have in mind but have to letgo a few ram 1st.
and what is considered stable oc???

Well new proc is down to luck once you ald check the stepping

find the G0 stepping of the e2160. Its a very good processor.

E7200 are good but you need to find gems to be able to overclock it to the level you want.

2140s are rare enough, I've yet to see any other 2160 apart from the 1 dblooi pushed real high on LN2

add RM20 and u can get one of d best cooler in d market..
