i think so. just reached 5gb today, almost 6gb now suddenly speed slowdown =.=
average 50+KB/s dl speed with idm. tried speedtest and getting 0.34-0.44MB/s. was 1.4-2.6MB/s =(
really didnt know about the cap thing until after i sign up and found out on this forum. asked the lady at umobile in pyramid about unlimited package, she said there would be no capping for unlimited package. now i dunno wtf is this. cant do anything since its written in TC. zzzzz. i seriously think the "unlimited" word written for the ub68 package is misleading.

[edit]
ok it just got worst -.- now its only 30KB/s max. average 10-15KB/s
*

UB68 "unlimited" plan has a FUP in place. That means the following:-

1) No excess charges (hence the term 'unlimited')
2) Throttled speed after reaching 5GB (not sure to what speed)

other plans like UB20/40 has the following:-

1) Excess charges applied after allocated data volume (UB20=300MB, UB30=2GB. Excess charges is RM0.01/KB data volume)
2) No throttled speed after reaching data volume, but u'll be charged at a higher cost of RM0.01/KB.

So let's say u're on UB40 plan and already exceeded 2GB volume. to save continue using it, u either *upgrade* to UB68 or wait until the next bill cycle (2GB volume for 1 bill cycle = 1 month).

The reason why u can upgrade so that u can decide which plan is suitable for you in long run.

agree wif u. it's a little misleading to the uninitiated/newbies.

possibly this is due to how all other telcos are 'marketing' their "unlimited" plan.

seems that no 1 dares to truly/honestly promote THE actual info wink.gif

to auto-reconnect, use the standard windows dialer.

actually when u create a profile in Mobile Connect, it'll also create the generic dialup profile/dialer.

so, just use that dialer to initiate a connection.

last i checked, they haven't done the auto-sms notification for balance/validity period.

but they said it'll be rolled out soon.

actually for all plans, u can check usage via *118# menu. But u would have to plug the sim on the phone to access *118# (this method is called UMB=USSD Menu Browser)

i don't get it o.O doesn't mobile connect has statistics too?
what's the difference between that one and mobile connect?
and how come im getting 95-99% signal on mobile connect and under that software, the signal area the bar is about 50-60%?
not sure of the difference, could you explain? or is there anywhere i can refer to?
*

MDMA's signal bars = Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) in dBm, measured between -113dBm and -51dBm.

Mobile Connect's signal bars = network signal.

both signal bars are different.

anyone sign U68 package?
Connection stable mah?
Any minimum subscription period?
*

u're referring to UB68 (sim-only plan?

no contract (minimum use). but there's an advance payment of RM68 (will be used consumed, so no worries here)

http://broadband.u.com.my/plan.html <-- look at the last info after the plans.

yea, but prepaid & postpaid also applicable for phone-use only or SIM-only (laptop use)

umobile's options may loooks identical, but it offers flexible options with one unified broadband plans wink.gif

prepaid/postpaid difference is just how u subscribe/payment mode.

yeah, utube works better than last time.

as usual, all depends on quality of ur connection & area.

remember that this is wireless communication; there are lots of factors affecting the performance (besides the telcos themselves).

seriously, it's all depends on your locations (where u spend ur time).

for me, i'm always in Klang Valley, therefore umobile is ok for me. I've tried others (including P1), but none offers me a better download speed (based on my areas).

btw, u're getting a new phone. u plan to subscribe mobile internet (broadband on phone)?

if i'm not mistaken, umobile UB68 broadband-only plan will also work on mobile phones (but without access to voice/sms/mms/etc.).

if still not satisfied, then try Digi's plans instead.

once compared, only then u'll know which service works best for you.

personally, a dealer fren told me that for any telco dealers, they bulk-send the registration forms to each telco's registration dept.

they do it by end of the working day (or next morning), therefore depending on the 'traffic' in the telco's reg dept, it's between 1-2 days

as mentioned many times, it is ALWAYS SAFER & FASTER to register at the official telco's service center. Doesn't matter if it's Maxis, Digi, Celcom, or U-Mobile (not sure if other MVNOs like XOX, TuneTalk, etc. have their own service center)
