i agree with omnipotent's comments.
and wanna add a bit.. if u don't mind on doing illegal mods, HID is the way to go, but u will surely get surat saman from JPJ. also, during heavy rain or fog, HID is useless. i have heard that changing the headlmap wiring (more like upgrading it) will make it brighter. or u can try adding headlamp booster. this will brighten your headlamp but your bulb's lifespan will be reduced to half. as for absorber, are u maintaining the comfort setup or would like to change to a sportier setup? QUOTE(Omnipotent @ Apr 28 2010, 04:00 PM) frankly i prefer comfort setup...the car is not powerful enough for sporty setup anyway (mine is stock 6A12). what i mean by sportier setup is changing to adjustable suspension which has harder spring and absorber.I'll be upsizing my tires to 60 series as well in my next change. My only issue with the car now is the vibrating brakes and squeaky noise on my driver's seat. I've changed to Boash discs but the problem comes back after 10,000 kms. Any other suggestions? Will changing to Waja OEM brake discs solve the problem? My previous Waja brakes had no such problem at all. and u can lower ur car as u please. and with sportier setup, u may take corners with more speed and confidence. my car is stock also, on straights, i can't catch my frens but on the corners i can close the gap.. vibrating brakes indicate that the disc is bengkok. try skimming or maybe change to twinpot brakes from galant for more braking power. |

QUOTE(Omnipotent @ Apr 30 2010, 05:07 PM) no la...old already...balls not big enough to take corners fast fast...after all, too many "unforseen" circumstances on public roads...we can never be too confident disc bengkok is common la, i think. i also skimmed my previous disc many times.ya, disc is bengkok, my previous stock brake disc also bengkok, so i skimmed it but it came back after 10,000kms also...that's why i changed to Bosch (thinking it will be better quality) but still same problem... any recommendations where to get twinpot brakes (i got no exp shopping for halfcuts) and is it plug and play (ABS not affected)? furthermore, are they 5 holes (meaning i need to change rims as well)? after change to mitsubishi single pot disc also have to skim. now change to twinpot, no problem for now... twinpot brake will cost u around rm500 to rm600 for the brake set (front only, caliper + disc) without labour. look for front set only also ok. i change front and rear. if install front set from galant or eterna, it's plug and play, ABS not affected cos u put the caliper + disc to your original knuckle. some disc have 4 holes, but if it's 5 holes, u can ask the workshop to drill 4 holes to your disc. but find reliable workshop to drill it. have to do exact measurements. QUOTE(koh_424 @ Apr 30 2010, 07:40 PM) just trying to ask. currently using D2s socket at headlamp. if wanna change to H7 socket wat should i do on it? your headlamp is ori or modded? already put HID?QUOTE(ReXeR @ May 3 2010, 11:45 PM) hi, new perdana owner reporting in... have u done the intercooler piping?i just converted to RVR turbo auto but havent done piping and exhaust. how much it costs for 2.5" S flow piping and 3" mufler with labour? got TT event here? hehe... 2.5" exhaust piping may cost : rm300 piping, rm150 centre bullet. for muffler, better look for japan JASMA approved s-flow muffler. such as Tanabe Hyper Medallion, Tanabe G-Power Medallion, Fujitsubo Giken, etc.. look for 2nd hand la. price around rm300-450. Added on May 4, 2010, 12:11 am anyway. your guys wanna TT? come to NZ curry house, wangsa maju this wednesday nite @ 10pm above look opposite KFC, there will be a bunch of proton perdanas parked there. QUOTE(soohing @ May 4 2010, 04:14 PM) maybe you should service your brakes.. perhaps it can solve your problem.. it's not about the brakes not functioning well.try to contact maddriver. i let him service my car and usually he is able to solve my problems without changing parts unnessarily. it's becoz the disc warps after 10K km and after hard braking during hi-speed. |

QUOTE(nabelon @ May 13 2010, 10:38 PM) do checks basically like any other used car.ask for test drive. then drive it kaw kaw. v6 engine is sturdy but the auto gb is weak. so pick up kaw kaw and feel if there's any jerking or late gear change. listen for any weird engine noise, weird noise during cornering, braking, etc. check power window and other electronics etc.. what's ur budget? better get v6 2005 and above. got ATF cooler already. mileage average is about 25K km per year, so if May 2005 car, mileage now will be around 125K km. |

QUOTE(alyg @ May 24 2010, 01:45 PM) comfort wise;falken 912, yokohama c-drive, continental comfortcontact, michelin premacy, goodyear excellence. i have tried 912 and c-drive, both really nice. performance wise; goodyear f1 assymmetric, michelin pilotsport3, continental sportcontact3, falken 452, yoko s-drive, yoko advan neova, federal 595 evo, dunlop dz101, bridgestone adrenalin, pirelli zero. i have tried dz101, s-drive and 595 evo. all 3 really nice but 595evo gets my vote for excellent overall performance and cheap too (compared to those other tyres mentioned above) |

QUOTE(Omnipotent @ Jun 14 2010, 10:18 AM) hi bro, what problems did it give u? latest atf change was my 4th time since i switch from proton atf to diaqueen...i think it's slightly better than proton atf...but have not experienced how good is toyota type IV or synthetic atf....anybody can share more on this? before this, i always use Proton ATF SP3. i have never change brand.would love to give type IV a try....anyone can recommend where to get genuine stuff (besides toyota sc)? i hear it's cheaper than diaqueen... then, a fren recommend to use Mitsubishi Diaqueen. so, i change la, to see if it's better than Proton SP3. at that time, my gb was only sometimes jerking and only a little bit. after changing to diaqueen, the jerking gets worse and sometimes my gb stuck at 3rd gear (TCU engage the "crawl-home mode") after that, i overhaul the gb la... Added on June 14, 2010, 11:57 am QUOTE(KAWAII GIFT @ Jun 13 2010, 10:00 PM) black very hot ne, if black very hot, change to white or silver color la. using mivec-md manual trans muffler straight just change my car battery myself dunno what happend my car cant start now, when i try to turn the key,all the meter off like no power, half to pull out the key and wait for awhile then only plug in the key back but still cant start the engine, dunnow whats the problem., i using century MF12 NS 70 oh, u also ask in ZTH rite? mivec-md manual, piping 2.5", of coz la use straight flow muffler. baru la power... and depending on straight flow muffler, sometimes the growl is too loud. but i like. if u don't like it too loud, u can add centre bullet in the piping to reduce the sound. so, no power altogether? try switching light? ON or not? if can ON lights, maybe ur starter has problem. battery old or new? if new, maybe wiring prob. This post has been edited by NeuroOne: Jun 14 2010, 11:58 AM |

QUOTE(Omnipotent @ Jun 14 2010, 12:01 PM) i see...sorry for you bro that diaqueen didn't work out for you...i'm sure u have phobia of it now...heheh that i don't know la.just curious, did you somehow get a ciplak/recycled diaqueen? it's funny that it can cause such damage since it is made with the same spec as proton atf and i'm not surprised if proton atf has the same formula as well but manufactured in diff country coz i bought it from a reliable supplier/fren. anyway, it already happen.. now i use Pennzoil synthetic ATF, cheaper and quality is good if not better than Proton SP3 and Mitsu Diaqueen. and i buy it from factory, so no ciplak.. |
