did any other buddy change their headlamp to projector??..review on it..tq
*
several of my fren's have projector lights with CCFL (angel eyes) instsalled into their perdana.
all except one use HID, using HID is very nice as they use projector lense from GTR32 and retro-fit it into the perdana headlamp.
one that uses normal halogen, the light is so-so only la. like waja or satria neo light.

QUOTE(pursepal @ Feb 26 2010, 04:00 AM)
mivec md v6 into my perdana v6..is it ok? for daily use..and i need power also la.. any ideas friends?
*
mivec or mivec-md is nice.
2.0 NA engine with 197hp.
auto or manual?

actually, normal v6 engine is quite nice already, if u change to manual la.
power response is instant.

u can also check out 6a12t @ v6 twinturbo, or 4g63t @ evo1, evo2, evo3, rvr, eclipse, vr-4 etc..

QUOTE(daijoubu @ Feb 26 2010, 05:15 PM)

*

perdana v6 auto gb after mid-2005 is considered ok already.
proton has installed specific atf cooler for the gb.

before mid-2005, the cooling of the gb was connected to the radiator and it is a small cooling coil inside the bottom part of the radiator.
so the cooling was not efficient.

but like any auto gb, don't thrash it.

u did top overhaul or general overhaul (full)?

they need to adjust tappet?
why? and can adjust? i don't think so..

i think u need a re-tune of ur engine using MUT.

MUT is the small computer thingy (mitsubishi something...) that proton uses to tune our ECU to tune our engine to optimum performance.
it costs about rm50-80 for a re-tune.

and for the adjust tappet thingy, maybe they need to adjust valve clearance or something..
maybe bcoz using new seats or seals, need to running-in first..

*
i do have 2 favorite workshops, 1 in putrajaya and 1 in pandan indah
but both don't have MUT or any computer to do tuning

u can go to any proton or eon service centre

i have done tuning before at an EON certified service centre in puchong
workshop name if not mistaken Trisilco Auto sdn bhd

hey bro..my car is 2002..but the previous owner already install the ATF..so i very lucky on tis..smile.gif

bout the tapped sound..my car also have..but i dun mind of repair it..coz repair it also cost bout 1k+..sum more it just create sound nothing will b serious on tat..

ooh ya..any body clean up their headlamp yellowish???..coz my headlamp 1side very yellowish..any solution on it??
*
tappet sound on v6 iss normal
if using fully synthetic engine oil, the sound is louder as the oil is light/thin
use semi-synthetic oil or mineral oil to reduce the sound as it is heavier/thicker
but yeah, just the sound, no serious prob..

ur headlamp is yellowish on the outside or inside?
if outside, u can polish it using normal polish or some specialist liquid
try search on this forum, i think got some discussion on it

perdana tank is 64 liters.
i have managed to empty (nearly la) my tank and filled 63.5 liters.
drive around town with traffic jam and all, RM0.21 per km. ron95.
hiway all the way, RM0.16 per km. ron95.
that's my calculation on my usage.

as for the auto gb, the prob was from mitsubishi.
anyways, just install ATF cooler and it can help prolong the life span of your gb.

i heard that older SEi model can convert to 4wd, just plug n play.

izzit true?

damn tempting la : P
*
true. even v6 can.
look for eterna complete 4wd set such as gb, long shaft, axle, rear drive shaft, rear knuckle etc
SEi plug and play, v6 hv to do a bit mod only..

im considering getting a perdana & convert E3.  smile.gif

since SEi body is plug n play, maybe go with the SEi
*
conversion to evo3 ~ Rm10K.
or maybe u can search for 2nd hand perdana with evo3 engine.

those items i wrote may cost at least Rm1K (axle, long shaft, rear knuckle, rear driveshaft, 4wd tank, etc).
not including 4wd gb.

QUOTE(lewatmalam @ Apr 18 2010, 06:10 PM)
hey guys, i need some advice. I'm wanting to get a PV6 and i know the problems about the GB and i know they can be fix. What i'm concerned is the few questions i have below :

1. Maintenance Cost & Frequency (I travel about 4,000km monthly)
2. How's the FC based on 50/50 city and highway ?
3. Are the parts reasonably priced ?
4. I have a budget of around 40k, which year should i get ?

Thanks
*
1. maintenance is just as any normal car. change oil + oil filter every 5K km if using mineral oil, 7K km = semi synthetic, 10K km = fully synthetic oil. major service at 100K km. ATF change every 20K km, ATF + ATF filter kit every 40K km.
2. FC is about RM0.22 per km in town and RM0.16 per km in hiway for auto, manual maybe less about 20%.
3. yes. and got many parts from halfcut shops.
4. RM40K will get 2004 or 2005 V6.

QUOTE(KAWAII GIFT @ Apr 21 2010, 05:49 PM)
may i know is it good to have a MIVEC  MD  MANUAL?rather than 6a12 tt?
or 4g63t?
*
u prefer NA or turbo?
mivec is good, tt is good and 4g63t is good. even the normal v6 is also good.
but be aware that v6 mivec parts are hard to find.
tt parts quite hard.
4g63t parts easy..

had just paid deposite for a Mivex MD manual 97,outlook have to repaint, had try on Mivec MD ,not so power, but smooth, maybe it because of 17 rim and HWL spring too soft,
when compare with my current b14 sr20ve,
*
sr20ve 20v?
maybe becoz u hv powerful car before makes u not feeling it. hehe..
also must remember that mitsubishi created V6s for hiway cruising.
