just back from my holiday at penang...i've been to 3 hotel below

1. YMCA - jln. macalister....booked online from cari.com.my this is very clean & cheap hostel, only rm75/night, but location not strategic...there is no food stall within walking distance, and find public transport also difficult.

2. Mingood Hotel - jln. argyl....booked online from airasia go holiday with price rm78/night...but when u walk-in they will charge u rm120/night . this hotel not recommended at all, furniture looks very old, bath room smelly, towel looks old & dirty, location ok lah near penang road, but at night jln.argyl very dark and scary.

3. Continental Hotel - penang road, RM108/night for king size bed + breakfast
highly recommended for this hotel, its cheap, very strategic location, room are clean & service is good

hey,next week i akan pergi sna...so i nak tanya berapa tambang taxi from airport to tanjung bungah beach hotel?
and harga room per nite?
please..

It's much depends on the location of Hotel TS want:

Bayan Lepas area:
B suite
Krystal suite (Rm150 for 1bedroom suite)
Hotel Equatorial Penang


Town:
Trader Hotel
Continental Hotel(cheaper than Trader and quite nice for the service)

i plan to go to penang this weekend with my friends. there are around 4 of us. can someone suggest which place to stay? we plan only to use 1 room only. staying for 3D/2N

I know it's bit too late here but only today i realized i can ask help from here
my gf n i wanna go to penang tomorrow (sunday 15th feb 2009) but we got no close frens there to entertain us
no transport as well as both of us got no car
any suggestion guys?
our main purpose of the tour is to eat

penang is nice place to visit

Batu Feringghi, Gurney Drive, Jlan Macalister

here are a few streets u must visit for the best food

chulia street (day and night)
penang road
mcallister road (day and night)
swatow lane (day and night)
lorong selamat

Cititel in Georgetown http://www.cititelpenang.com/ ....... I think same comp as the one at midV.......RM120 per nite(but this was price for december 2007, was fully booked when i entered to hotel that time , end up finding hotels at feringgi area) im not sure why the rates have skyrocket but i find that calling them will always get better and more accurate rates compared to those published in websites.....

I planning May to go penang for 3d2n...but i dunno anyhting in penang....

i plan to stay at TUNES HOTEL, any1 can giv me suggestion where to visit and eat?

any bus that direct to penang?without goin perak or other places~

Melak KL = 2.5 hr by bus KL Penang 4.5hr by bus so total = 7hr . No idea on any direct bus, but u can try Melaka >KL thereafter take a connecting bus to Penang. More buses this way..& probably u can google for Melaka Penang?

From the address of the yet to be opened Tunes Hotel & also the location as in the latest Malfreemaps, it's actually located nxt to New World park food court/bistro/starbucks area. It's in the middle of Georgetown...But it's far from Bt Feringgi...

The taxi rate to Georgetown area should be ~RM30. On rapidPenang..no idea..should be the same as rapidKL kua

ehhh bro, It's IN the middle of Geogetown. Lotsa expensive hawker fair there too..such as the Famous Char Keow teow at Lorong Selamat.....~RM6/ tiny plate!!

Bt Feringgi is located on the North Western side of George town or ~13km away..For me Bt feringgi is good for the nite market. Go there for the souvenir nite market..pretty similar to those in Phuket...(Lotsa cheap DVD there too)

Other than that the water surrounding the whole area is polluted...so u dun expect even Langkawi quality..it's just like PD!!
