yeah, planning for LED downlight.
so can be done under 150mm with light box? thanks..!

150mm is about 6" even with the old skool halogen downlight can fit. If your ceiling is low and you wanna maximise your height, 4" or 101mm will do also...nowadays LED downlight is very slim....

For L-box lighting, what's the maximum length or maximum number of lights can be connected in series to a single switch?
My house is under construction and I plan to renovate the plaster ceiling after VP.
Most probably will just add L-Box at all the halls and rooms.
So now I plan to get the electrical contractor to lay the wiring first.
Need to plan how many point need to lay for the lighting.
Is one point enough for each room?

Assume u have fan, aircond, t5 and downlight. U need at least 1 switch for aircond. The rest for fan and lights can combine. It is entirely up to you. For t5 max is around 20 lights per switch using sirim endorsed wire.

To be sure have to look first. Aspects like your db box, lighting design have to take into account

L-box is without light... the one can put light in is called light box...
normal light wiring 1.5 diameter can support up to 6A of light...
normal 4ft T8 36W produce 0.15A and 4ft T5 28W produce 0.117A...
u can put up to 40 set of T8 lamp for each point...
ur contractor charge how much for a lighting point?

The developer charge RM55 per lighting point.
Can I just ask him to lay 1 point for each room and hall for future light box?
The existing ceiling is flat plaster ceiling.
Will add L-box with light box after get the key.
Then will do looping from the point.
So, 1 point is sufficient for each room/hall?

I am doing L Box (without T5 longkang) but wonder if it is not bright enough to cover 13' x 15' and 11' x 10' space and 9' x 16'

Hi guys. Smthg slightly out of the topic here. I bought this apartment 5years ago and the ceiling's paint started peeling off since 3 years back and it can been seen that there are many tiny holes. Many told me that it's due to humidity and the upper floor is a penthouse with opened balcony at the peeling and holes area. They (ang mo) refused to do anything with it as they said that it's not leaking. I have been wanting to install plaster ceiling to solve this problem but I first need to know is this leakage or just really humid. I am worried that the plaster ceiling will fall if it's really leaking.

Does any contractor do only small works? I have 2 bedrooms need to dismantle existing water-damaged plaster ceiling and install new ones. Total about 200 sq feet. Already called many but rejected due to small area involved.

I think it is not inclusive of downlight opening yet and fan. Wow, i think your contractor charge u RM 2.50 psf is cheaper than RM 3.50psf mentioned by other forumers. Somemore include downlight opening.

How is his workmanship?

I need to do flat plaster ceiling with about 8 downlight openings & 1 fan.
Location: Klang

Can u pm me the contractor's contact?

Thanks
