QUOTE(Doraemon11 @ Apr 11 2013, 05:20 PM) I have price list from Nokavo I don't know how my contractor calculated (5). Although he quoted me $45 per wiring point, I end up 2/3 of my downlights need wiring, so end up a hefty big bill close to $2 k for the wiring alone 1. plaster ceiling flat area = $ 2/sf 2. L box for living+ dining + curtain area = $ 10/ft run 3. Fan hole + $ 50/ NOS 4.Painting = ceiling and wall ( inside condo) $ 900 ( the paint buy by owner) ( we not just paint, we will touch up your wall before painting.) 5. Wiring point ( with conceal wire)= $150/point 6. Cutting plaster ceiling for downlight=$10/nos( together with installed =$15/nos) * donwlight buy by owner* 7. Ceiling mainhole = $60/nos. Please advise will the price for 4,5,6,7 side high??? As i found some member here just mention only RM5 for downlight hole cutting |

Anybody can give me rough estimate of how much is the cost for normal plaster ceiling and L box type for living area of 14 x22 and room 20x11 ( attached toilet of 5x5). An also how many downlights required for this size area. Help appreciated and tq very much.

hi all,
it is a bit of a personal choice, but i recommend to do away with the false ceiling and down lights that will require multiple lighting points. all these cost money! we used either 1. wall lights 2. under ceiling fan lights 3. simple ceiling mounted lights 4. table/floor standing lights for the mood overall cheaper and easier maintenance take a look here if you like. |

QUOTE(funnymatthew @ May 1 2013, 12:35 AM) hi all, I agree. If the house doesn't come with false ceiling, better to leave it as it is. Cheaper and easier maintenance for lighting and fans, plus higher ceiling height for loft effect.it is a bit of a personal choice, but i recommend to do away with the false ceiling and down lights that will require multiple lighting points. all these cost money! we used either 1. wall lights 2. under ceiling fan lights 3. simple ceiling mounted lights 4. table/floor standing lights for the mood overall cheaper and easier maintenance take a look here if you like. |
