I have price list from Nokavo

1. plaster ceiling flat area = $ 2/sf
2. L box for living+ dining + curtain area = $ 10/ft run
3. Fan hole + $ 50/ NOS
4.Painting = ceiling and wall ( inside condo) $ 900 ( the paint buy by owner)
( we not just paint, we will touch up your wall before painting.)
5. Wiring point ( with conceal wire)= $150/point
6. Cutting plaster ceiling for downlight=$10/nos( together with installed =$15/nos)
* donwlight buy by owner*
7. Ceiling mainhole = $60/nos.

Please advise will the price for 4,5,6,7 side high???

As i found some member here just mention only RM5 for downlight hole cutting
*
I don't know how my contractor calculated (5). Although he quoted me $45 per wiring point, I end up 2/3 of my downlights need wiring, so end up a hefty big bill close to $2 k for the wiring alone sad.gif May I kenna chop but he mentioned that he will install wiring pipe on the ceiling concrete and run wires inside them. My item (6) is the same as yours but mine is square LED so requires more skills. I didn't ask for quote for manhole but maybe I should as I think I need to change the LED drivers in future.

hi all,

it is a bit of a personal choice, but i recommend to do away with the false ceiling and down lights that will require multiple lighting points.
all these cost money!

we used either
1. wall lights
2. under ceiling fan lights
3. simple ceiling mounted lights
4. table/floor standing lights for the mood
overall cheaper and easier maintenance

take a look here if you like.

I agree. If the house doesn't come with false ceiling, better to leave it as it is. Cheaper and easier maintenance for lighting and fans, plus higher ceiling height for loft effect.

May i know LED T5 how much in market? Normally i saw lighting shop selling LED or normal T5?
*
I was told by a lighting vendor that if there is a chance of rain splashes, then it is better to avoid LED lights as humidity reduces the lifespan of LED lights. My T5 outdoors are CFL.

I have go Philips shop survey before. He quote me T5 4 feet RM22.

T5 is very bright. Purchase price is very good compared to LED. So I think outdoor use like car-porch if you don't need to switch on for several hours is very good value for money. Also less worry if they are stolen.

is the LED downlight is brighter than CFL downlight? how about energy consuming?
*
I estimate a factor of 1.5 for LED light. E.g. I equate 12 W LED to 18 W CFL.

This is my first floor LED light along the corridor:

Wah! really bright. Warm or day?
*
I selected LED lights with temperature 4100k (similar to rice grain color), as lower temperature is too yellowish and higher temperature is too glaring for me.

owh byk terang! this at night or siang? do u think 2 LED downlight is enough for 10x10ft room?
*
That photo was taken in the afternoon.

Two LED downlights of 12 W each is just sufficient for a small bedroom. For master room that is larger, it is advisable to install 4 downlights of 12 W. You can adjust the number of downlights according to the layout of your room and the power of the LED. The lower the power, the more you need to install, but the more uniform lighting you will get and the better the effect. The downside is the huge cost for lighting renovation and higher chance of cataract for over brightness.

For my case, I installed four 12 W downlights with one at each corner for all my small bedrooms. They are connected to 2 switches, with each switch controlling 2 downlights. I installed five 12 W downlights for my master room. Below is a photo for my dry kitchen, which is about the size of a small bedroom, with four 12 W downlights. You can judge yourself whether it is sufficiently bright.

Can share more photo? I planning install whole house LED downlight.
*
That is all I have. My whole house interior is LED, even the toilets (actually not advisable since humidity is high but I just want to standardise 12 W LED so that I just need to stock up one type of spare LED lights):

The living room lights are different as it is not plaster ceiling

The staircase lighting is also LED

What is the Watt for each LED lightbulbs? I have to calculate this also, can let me know the model or name or something else?
I like this design, i have the same situation like urs, concrete roof no plaster ceiling.
Maybe we also need to figure out how much to change each light bulbs inside the holder. smile.gif
*
I used 6 W (4100 K) per bulb x 4 bulbs per ceiling lighting, so total is 24 W. The two ceiling lights are sufficient for the living room and I like them very much. There are many designs that can accommodate more or less bulbs. I threw away the boxes already so I'm not sure of the brand. Have fun chosing.

Seriously 6W x 4 x 2 set = 48W, equivalent to philips sphere bulbs 24W x 2 already.
Maybe philips sphere bulbs 24W x 2 also cant brighten the living like the LED did.

How bout the heat? I heard the LED got 0% heat.

Yes, quite cool. I can hold e LED light bulb at e shop despite being switched on for 1 he.
