this is only for flat board plaster ceiling..will he charge you for downlight opening? My 1st contractor charge me RM1.90 psf..but downlight opening is RM5 per hole..new contractor charge me RM2.50psf but downlight opening inclusive already
*
Could I have the contact, my contractor quote me RM2.50 without downlight opening. what about the price for LBox-light through?

Added on May 25, 2012, 9:31 amcan i just install L Box without doing the flat ceiling in middle? coz my ceiling is just 9 feet and I plan to install ceiling fan, I dont want to lower down my ceiling...

I think because urs 163sqft is a small job, so they quote you lump sum instead. or another reason is they ain't interested in the job i guess

Added on June 12, 2012, 6:21 pmbtw, mine was done with below :

1) RM2.50 / sqft - Flat Board
2) RM14 / ft - L Box
3) RM500 - Lump sum for unlimited Man holes, Fan Hooks and Light Holes

In total I have :
Manholes : 4
Light Hole : About 40
Fan Hooks : ABout 7

------------------
some may think its on the high side for the RM500 lump sum...but I m very happy with the workmanship and quality...they use thick aluminimum 3.5 inches and 9mm boards (if i remembered correctly)

Hope it helps.

for plaster ceiling, i just wanna do side, mainly for wiring routing, is it ok?
my ceiling is about 10.5 ft, if do the L-box side and middle, would make my ceiling 9 ft.....i was thinking i can just do L-box on the side (rectangle) with downlight, middle part leave it as is it.

other alternative is to just use pvc trunking
