Hi guys. I plan to install plaster ceiling in my renovations.

Price quoted (the RM2.30/sq feet) from what I understand from here does not include painting.
Need painting ah?? I thought all "kaw thim," need further process after installation??

What is the minimum distance allowed between fan blade and down light to avoid the flickering light effect?

My ceiling is low so I was wondering,

What is the minimum distance between ceiling and plaster ceiling (no lights installed, only fan hook)?

What is the distance required between ceiling and plaster ceiling for different types of plaster ceiling lights?

Any indication of the different types of plaster lighting cost?

1) Normally the quoted price didn't included Painting and you will see the jointed between two board, hence that the reason it need to paint.
2) if possiable 2.5 feet away
3) I guess you meant No downlight instead of No Light. Fan Hook will require at least 3 inch (wood 1"x 2") except you want to use more think wood
4) It depend on what light you using... If you use downlight than 6 inch or 4 inch, bulk is vertical or horizotal type, or you light is hang type...
5) Plaster lighting cost? What you meant? wire / light point / downlight ???
*
Thanks Jo_da48 notworthy.gif

1) Hee Hee-I thought they cement another layer of plaster over the board.
2) Then my small ceiling area not suitable for fan and down lights.
3) Yes, you are right.
4) Oh you mean if I use down light then the distance between the ceiling and the plaster board is 4" or 6" depending on downlight type. "bulk is vertical or horizontal type" - what is this??
5) Diffrent downlight type cost.- round type 4", 6", square type, small 2 inch round type ..... Need to know cost diffrence to plan what to use and what to avoid.

This is Light box

and this is L box

*
2]L.Box Long Kang 1set=150.00 is the manhole access (usually for a pipe hidden by the plaster ceiling needs access for possible repairs.)

Usually they give a breakdown for L box foot run, Light Box foot run, plaster ceiling sq feet. Down light hole per cut.
You have to share the details to get accurate estimate on wheather its expensive or not.
You say simple but got all these item wor. blink.gif

Yeah, the living is kinda long. Ok, I will re-evaluation the number of fan required. Besides, I am firmed on putting in downlight in my living room. Instead of putting 8 of them, I will put 10 down lights: P. I am sure it should be bright enough this time.

Just curious, is there any calculation of positioning the ceiling fan distance away from the down light to avoid flickering?
*
The general answer seems to be
"at least more than 2 feet away from the blade edge,",
This is the answer I got so far either from shop assistant, my contractor or forum members. blush.gif
Nobody has given any more specific answer at the moment.

Normally what are the dimensions of the L-box?

I.e. How wide is the box and how thick is it? And normally what is the distance of the gap between the L-box and your ceiling?
*
Mine is approx

Width - Lbox to wall 18" (10" for downlight + 8" for Light Box)
Height- Lbox to Ceiling 8"
Lbox Light window opening 5"
Lbox Length - As long as you want it biggrin.gif

Has anyone heard of this Queen Ceiling board? Does it work as they listed out?

The cost is almost double than the normal plaster. Wondering if its really worth it.

Dunno forum members who has used this other than you. Supposed to be the healthier alternative.
If you install. You will be the best person to review it.
