yeah..do agree about the less prejudiced/racist part. It all goes back to the upbringing and environment... i prefer eng ed guy. Easier to communicate, more open minded, their mindset is different.

well... as u know... education may affect 1's culture but it doesn't affect 100%... i believe people around us affect us more... for example: our neighbours, our cousins, relatives and so on...

i got an eng edu guy fren who learn chinese by listening to chinese songs, reading their lyrics in pin yin and compare them wifthe words... and in 1 year time he is chinese literate already... he can talk and mix well with the chinese ed people and can understand their ways of things... but he doesn't live like 1 though... he's more to the open type... can talk and joke anything... won emo so easily... speaks english most of the time or cantonese... as for me i loose out to him in term of chinese literacy...

as for myself... a lot of my secondary school buddies come from chinese primary school and sux at english... i mix around anyway...

laugh.gif I don't think you get what silverhawk meant. laugh.gif

You should understand what silverhawk meant by 'culture a form of education' rather than how education affect culture. And education is not 100% related just to school or any form of education institution.

I think you really messed up in your points above. laugh.gif

I think is best for silverhawk to explain in details biggrin.gif

Well, i think at first, you used the wrong analogy laugh.gif

The dye hair COULD be a better example. But the food analogy, is really a poor example biggrin.gif

Hmmm, depends also... My gf is Chinese-ed (like i mentioned above) but she is quite humble and very down-to-earth, even to my family...

In contrast, one of my ex, who was educated in the SMK-type schools, is a true-blue kiasu type... Really beh-ta-han when i'm with her sometimes! laugh.gif

Hahahahaha, u and I are in the same boat eh, bro YungYung... I am hopeless in learning Chinese characters but thanks to my gf, she is encouraging me to do so via listening to Chinese songs and reading the lyrics, in pinyin!

And we both are together with our respective gf for several years already... Great! biggrin.gif
