I have a good friend. 2 years ago he started dating this chinese ed girl. She's pretty la, but I CANNOT TALK TO HER.

I've tried, and I know he's also tried to "change" her. Somehow it just doesn't work, and unfortunately I have to always compare her with my friend's ex who was very professional but funny at the same time sad.gif

eng ed is good to fark around, chinese ed wan can keep at home in the kitchen, yes i'm generalizing tongue.gif

You think they'll happily stay at home and just sit in kitchen?
They will want to go shopping and yum cha more than anything.
They just want to be rich "tai-tai" lah, if you don't have the money to keep one, just go for an English ed.
At least they got a job and able to finance their own lifestyle.

Sigh, Chinese ed girls are so boring and predictable.

You mean they suck at English even though they are English Ed. So what are they good at?

I think he's referring to the pure "kebangsaan" stream - those who go to National Schools but are still very much attached to their communities, both in mentality and in language.

Before this conversation veers off into a hardcore discussion about education, let's determine the course we are heading.

I believe that the object of contention in this thread is not so much education it is about MENTALITY. When we say Eng-Ed or Chi-Ed, what we are talking about is actually the MINDSET of the person. So lets stop all this talk about language per se.

As for me, I was raised to speak English and am greatly influenced by Western values. When I entered university, I began mixing around with people with a very Chinese background. I think both Eng-Ed and Chi-Ed girls have their own charm. blush.gif Having said that though, i still find Eng-Ed girls to be generally more attractive.

Eng-ed girls are usually more fun to be around, more open-minded, and more outspoken. In relationships, they treat themselves as equals to their male countersparts. Chi-Ed girls on the other hand tend to be more quiet, more submissive and less independant. They are more comfortable with letting their boyfriends lead the way most of the time.

However, Eng-Ed girls tend to be more difficult to please, as in they tend to be higher maintenance and have higher "requirements" as to which guys they would consider as boyfriends. They are also more likely to be the ones who end a relationship when things turn sour.

Most Chi-ed girls I know place great importance on their relationships. Many would try their very best to keep a relationship going even the going gets tough. One girl i know was unwilling to initiate a break-up from her bf even though it was obvious to everyone that their relationship had been downhill for months. She decided to wait for him to break up with her.

As to who's more pretty, I guess to each man his own. In my experience, well-mannered Eng-Ed girls tend to dress in more classy and lady-like clothes while Chi-Ed girls tend to dress in more cute and somewhat chldish clothing. Given a choice I would prefer a girl with classy clothing. Looks aren't that important to me though, so both would be fine by me.

In conclusion, I think that if you're an English-ed guy looking for a soulmate, a Eng-ed girl would be your best bet. However, if you would like someone who would welcome you home with a piping hot dinner and stand by you through thick and thin a Chi-Ed girl would suit you better. Bear in mind these are just my opinions, and if anyone disagrees I would love to know your take on things! sweat.gif

this point varies... can't say eng-cult gal higher maintainance... but higher requirements yes... this i agree... initiating break up also circumstances dependant... usually depend on their experience, knowledge and perception in relationships... hmm.gif

this 1 also depend on their experience and perception about relationships... can't exactly categorize... icon_rolleyes.gif

From my experience, I will make it simple.. smile.gif

English ed
-more open towards things
-fun and would usually more like able among your friends
-sporting and friendly
-likes touches and public affection
-usually they tend to spend a bit more
-if they are angry or sad, they show it very obviously

Chinese ed
-conservative
-prefers holding hands
-more careful with their spendings
-more clingy but they might do sweet things that might surprise you
-quiet with your friends usually
-don't show their emotions much

This is just from my experience. It might not apply for all girls of course. smile.gif

I only dated 2 other girls other than my current. (2 chinese ed and current english ed)
