A picture would help. That definitely sounds too young.

Hi Cukin, welcome yah. Nice to meet you yesterday.
Yes, most gliders like dried fruits. Good as treats for them during play and bonding. Anyway, we mostly count their age when they start to OOP like what Bonai just replied. The joey may be stunted in growth if the breeder did not give proper healthy food to the adults, or the joey was separated too early, maybe earlier than 6 weeks OOP.... so the body size is small and fragile. But then like what Reanne and the others would say, pictures are better. This post has been edited by crazymouse_yyh: Mar 31 2008, 01:15 AM |

Is the tail fluffy or smooth?
2 weeks oop is still underaged. A week to 10 days oop their eyes will start to open. So we can estimate your joey is around more than 10 days oop. This post has been edited by Reanne: Mar 31 2008, 01:29 AM |

yes, yours probably not 2 weeks since it has already opened it's eyes.. but still 4-6 weeks is considered underaged lor..

Their tails only fluff after 40+ days oop. If it's not fluffly can say your joey may be in between a week oop to 40 days oop since we don't have pictures. Can estimate more accurately after viewing the pics.
Also, if the breeder had not given enough nutrition to the parents, it can result in smaller and malnourished offspring, hence could explain the size. Fluffy like this? http://www.glideruniversity.org/images/articles/fluff.jpg This post has been edited by Reanne: Mar 31 2008, 01:34 AM |

This is very young and you can see that the tail is very slick and smooth.
http://www.glideruniversity.org/images/art...s/toosmall2.jpg This is also considered smooth, but this one is older. http://www.glideruniversity.org/images/art...s/toosmall3.jpg This post has been edited by Reanne: Mar 31 2008, 02:19 AM |

QUOTE(thisiskj @ Mar 30 2008, 05:57 PM) so it would be better to get a bird cage? but it's exp.. sob.. it's not really nylon rite? but it's soft ler.. Underage? aiks.. no wonder.. sob.. but can we train them if they are underage? the staffs there also can't really handle them properly.. let the joey jump.. and fall flat on ground.. piek.. kesian i see them this morning.. sob..can't really glide that well yet.. apple aint that superb fresh also.. sob.. who took them away from their mom.. Bird cage can be cheaper and sturdier than Flexarium, plus a cage is easier to handle as in to open for feeding or taking out the suggie cuz a Flexarium you need to zip open and zip close a huge part just for feeding time. YES, the joeys at PS are seriously under aged. Young ones can seem tame because they don't have much knowledge or energy to wonder about. Joeys at that age cannot glide yet. All joeys will only learn how to glide after 7-8 weeks WITH guidance from their parents. Without parents they will need to learn by themselves or with help by humans and that will take time. They fall out of jumping, not gliding cuz they don't know how to glide yet. Who took them away at such young tender age? HEARTLESS MONEY MINDED BREEDERS AND SELLERS! QUOTE(ayiesz @ Mar 30 2008, 11:07 PM) dont worry i cannot speak chinese also but since i look a bit chinese, some ppl will start talking in canto/mandarin to me if they dont know me where's KP she's not been here lately. missed her super long quoting reply I'm here, but been very busy, cannot reply super long wor... Furthermore if I reply super long sure got kena tembak one cuz there are still people asking question without reading or researching some parts of this forum... QUOTE(thejamz @ Mar 30 2008, 11:50 PM) yup.. it only a bit big from my tumb.. but he already told me how to take care a small joey.. i already make a research about small joey.. so can trust him.. he told me the joey cant poo her self, need to help it.. feed free or low lactose milk and fruit.. not yet mealworm and honey... It's super small and super under aged = PERIOD! There's no other way of saying that your new joey is a bit bigger or the breeder told you this, told you that. Under aged is Under aged. Do you know that all joeys will only learn how to poo after 6 weeks OUT OF POUCH? That is with the teaching/guidance from their parent. Do you know a joey can open its eyes as early as 1 week Out Of Pouch? On average it's after 2 weeks Out Of Pouch, but some as young as 1 week. Under aged joeys CAN survive with proper care from humans, BUT they will not survive as long as their average lifespan should be. Research has shown that most under aged joeys will survive up to 2 -3 years only. This is because they did not get the sufficient nutrient and antibody they require from their mother's milk when they are young. QUOTE(thejamz @ Mar 31 2008, 12:00 AM) really?? alamak, buy already coz not so small like underage photo at the 1st page.. and it tail already kembang.. just now she poo and pee on my hand by her self.. but still worried if she really underage joey.. i trust the seller coz oso got Ecah from him... if i have camera or phone i will post their photo.. but not have yet, later la... 1 question, underage joey know how to crab or not.. coz Nyra always crab to me and to anyone else la... As mentioned, it's under aged. Get a photo quick and share it here. As soon as Out Of Pouch, all joeys can crab already, it's a method of defense in the wild, just the crabbing won't be as loud as adults ones. QUOTE(siokjinlim @ Mar 31 2008, 12:51 AM) guys i'm getting confused... is it 7 weeks old, or 7 weeks oop ?? is it the same or different?? i thought 7 weeks oop means the total age is around 4 months old right?? Hun has answered you. Most breeder will never tell you the Out Of Pouch age, they will just say 8 weeks, 2 months, and so on, one is they don't know the difference or the right age another it is also a way of deceiving people. QUOTE(Reanne @ Mar 31 2008, 01:26 AM) 2 weeks oop is still underaged. A week to 10 days oop their eyes will start to open. So we can estimate your joey is around more than 10 days oop. Yes, as early as 1 week they can open eyes already. ----- Emino, Ayiesz, will update you guys as soon as possible about neutering okay. Currently really busy with work and taking care of Micah. KP |

Hows Micah doing? You neuter him on Sunday right? Was suprised when I see Kiah try to 'shave' Teddy's head on Saturday lol. I guess Teddy is not manly enough ROFL. |
