i'm almost confirmed be leaving for australia end of next year. bringing my gliders there is not possible. how sad

Ecah already bonded with me..
but too manja..
always barking went me sleep, want to play until morning..
make me crazy laa..
so buy another joey, so Ecah got a friend to play with..
but the new joey only 7 and haft week..
Ecah take care of the joey already, groom it after ate and carry it on her back..
really like a big sis..

I also suppose to go Aussie to study... but then decided to finish my degree here. No one jaga my gliders heheheh.... and also my other pets.

Aussie is strict, they even have no hamsters and gerbils, illegal pets to have LOL.

Sometimes we also have to see the size of the joey than rely on the age given by the breeder. Like yesterday at the expo, someone brought a 2 month old joey that he bought near my home, goodness.... so tiny, fur sparse also... like that 2 months.

Pet Safari selling 3 week old joeys, but they tell customers 2 months old.

So ah.... must know bout size and age as well. 7 weeks is still alright, better than 6 weeks old but then the best age is always 8 weeks onwards.

Names ah.... I name my gliders after Aboriginal terms.... I got Kiah, Kapi, Kimba.... used to have a male called Jarrah but then he was killed by my cat.

Their names and meanings:

Kiah = from a beautiful place
Kapi = Moon
Kimba = bush fire
Jarrah = Eucalyptus tree

My breeding pair is named:
Naya = mother
Pama = man

Also, that young would need high protein milk in order to grow well. If can't poo itself, I think it is not even 7 weeks OOP.... maybe younger. Could be just OOP only.

Tail start to kembang at around 4 weeks old.... 2 months old is very kembang.... but I just worried when you said slightly bigger than thumb and still need milk. Coz my 2 month old joeys never climb on their mother's back anymore and never drink milk anymore. Fully independent and eat solid food.... so..... could be the seller is not giving you correct info lah.

Although many sellers may appear trustworthy, but they know how to talk you into believing them coz you are a new glider owner. It's like how many fell for our gliders yesterday at the pet expo. If I told them sugar gliders are easy pets, can live in hamster cages and drink milk, they would believe me coz they are all new towards gliders.

Well, you sudah beli.... if the guy is trusted, you can always exchange or return till it gets older.... but if you still nak jaga, then you better head to Pet Shack, they are selling sugar glider joey milk that is imported from Aussie and is for joeys, contains high protein.

if cant poo itself, i bet that's no 6 weeks joey..

Can come over my place to see how a 3 weeks joey looks like and yes it's just a little big than my thumb..

If the seller was reliable/ethical/educated, he shouldnt have been selling it in the first place rather than teaching you how to take care of the underaged joey.

No offend, but you yourself from this forum should have known better.

Some tips: Feed the joey with small amount of pets own milk or wat ever milk that is suitable. Then provide with Hun's slurp + fresh fruits. You'll need to teach them how to take the milk and slurp. Use a syringe as a start if they refuse to lick it..

i thought laa, my Nyra really 7 weeks, not 7 weeks oop..

A joey would spend 8 weeks in pouch since birth, then another 8 weeks out of pouch. So the joey would be 4 months old lah during this time.

But many sellers are taking the easy way by just saying 8 weeks, 7 weeks, 2 months.... coz if a mass breeder, you think he/she got record all the dates of when each breeding pair's joeys come out of pouch? So alot just agak agak, once they see the joey eat or try solid food, they automatically think 2 months OOP already.

usually we start counting it's age after OOP...
