the NAT is just a configuration, except TMNET modem, it not easy to configure...

Belkin F5D7230-4 <--- I am using this router, able to get NAT 2 and UPNP no problems with online games such as Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Online... only facing low latency problems in tekken 6.

i'm using Belkin N Wireless Router model F5D8233-4... both wired/wireless function very well...(default fw)

previously used a Dlink ADSL Router DSL-G604T as a router (now turned into adsl modem to connect to the above router)

i also have handled Linksys WRT54G which is a hassle, wireless kept dc (probably due to fw issue)

Can play MW2 & MAG easily ?
If yes then I'll buy that.
I don't have a slightest idea which one should I get.
Saw one and liked it but the price was RM 400 rclxub.gif

I got NAT 2 pretty easily.
No dc and 3.6MB speed.

can always get nat2 with tmnet modem, unless you are under double nat (2 routers) and/or not properly configured

It takes ages for TMnet to do anything! I once reported a no dial tone and took them almost a week to get a techie to my house

finally getting screamyx installed in my house. It comes with a free wireless router. Is that good enough for online games? thinking of playing SFIV online.

I applied for a 4mb line and they coming to check my connection the next few days. I will be using direct connection from the router to my PS3 slim. Is their router good enough or do I need to buy another router. (I dont know what router that they will be giving me)

Using a RIGER DB108-WL wireless ADSL 2/2+ router. Is that good?

i cant login psn on my ps3.
but can browse the internet on the ps3.
what is the problem?

hi all, i m glad to see so many people discuss about those problems(upnp, nat),

coz i facing the same for my ps3 connection now ><

i m using zyxel P-320W router,

always shows upnp not available after connection test completed

nat type is type 2,

i can download demo from psn, can search those online players in games,

but i cant join any mp match,

i already Enable the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Feature

but still cant work, any1 can help? cry.gif

their modem router is good enuf for ps3...

since Playstation Network failed meaning its got blocked by the router, usually its the firewall.

check if u need to do portforwarding

how do u connect ps3 to the router? by wired/wireless?

also do some ps3 network test to see what's the prob. You might need to do portforwarding if needed (PSN = failed)

How do u connect ur ps3 to the router? wired/wireless?

In the past, it was router's firmware that can cause upnp failure. Workaround is to do portforwarding in the router settings.

Maybe you could try set Manual in Network Settings, giving ps3 a fixed ip address and MTU set to 1480.
