ive tried overclocking, .. managed to get up to 2.36ghz. from 2.11

im using Abit NF-M2S. and AMD 64X2 4000+. Brisbane. i dont see any Vcore settings at bios. any ideas on how to further oc my poor rig?..
*
Nope, cant increase voltage, but usually brisbane core can reach arnd 2.6-2.8ghz before needing vcore increase. Either way you can increase voltage in windows itself by using applications like crystalcpuID

there are many reason why....

-the vcore
-the ram OC ability
-the ram vdimm
-the ram timing
-the heat
-the mobo

so u need to check it one by one.... icon_rolleyes.gif

i've read some reviews to say that just need to increase the multiplier
for 5000+ black edition. dun need to overclock the ram.
i'm using cooler master hyper 212 for the proc, idle: 22c load: 35c,
so heat is not a problem.

yes, it supposed to easy.
i can hit 3.3Ghz by adjusting the vcore, but when i run orthos....
it will fail for running a few min only.

1.2v? hmm.gif
pump more vcore icon_rolleyes.gif
nothing to do with ram, still default speed and he is using small FFTs test

p/s: how come you use 3x1GB? hmm.gif
become single channel already , buy 1 more stick mar laugh.gif

Not really,
depend on the SPD of ram and default settings in bios
anyway, tighten up Trc won't affect much in stability, but it boosts memory performance a lot. icon_rolleyes.gif

yea, i did the same thing to my new 5000+ BE. set multiplier a little higher and i went for 3.1ghz. ran orthos for 33 seconds sweat.gif figure i have to up the voltage but i'm a bit lazy and no time. so it ran at 3.0ghz, idle 20c and load 39 max at room temp. better luck with orthos,it ran for an hour, did a 3dmark06 run and played some cod4. stress testing till tomorrow morning using orthos later.

stress 1st then observe icon_rolleyes.gif
if it's stable then just stay there,
if it's not , pump vcore again
btw, what's your cpu cooler?
make sure that the load temp is under 65C all the time icon_rolleyes.gif

edited: maybe you need to test the temp by using your hand , brisbane DTS cacat laugh.gif
