Yammy new V-X65 series is now available in Desa, prices are:-

V365 - RM1490 (entry level 5.1 channel with 4 HDMI)
V465 - RM1990 (entry level 5.1 channel with DD TrueHD and DTS-MA, 4 HDMI, YPAO)
V565 - RM2390 (entry level 5.1 channel with DD TrueHD and DTS-MA, 4 HDMI upscaling 1080p, YPAO)
V665 - RM2890 (mid level 7.1 channel with DD TrueHD and DTS-MA, 4 HDMI upscaling 1080p, YPAO)

For the specs, go check Yammy's site.

The AVRs are in sweet black, but prices are high as they are new models. Desa will feature them in AV Fest in July, but as they have stock now, they are selling them to the early adopters.

The 663 has 2 HDMI only, while 665 has 4..... the rest is too technical for me. At RM2890, it became mid level due to price... mad.gif mad.gif

At Desa, the Onkyo SR606 is going for RM2300 now, in black and silver. Pioneer 1018 is at RM2700 now, both seems to be better spec-ed than the V665.

Anyone can get ur paws on 663 at RM1599 at Desa, go for it.

But according to my sources, the 663 have been out of stock in Desa since 1 month ago and last selling price was RM1699, so mayb someone has better info than me.

if they r selling at those prices...it's a rip off and they're plying the Denon/Onkyo way....

for RM2,890....I'll op for Denon 1909 or marantz SR5003 which is ard RM2k+ now and can ask Yammy chiack sai.....

Sad but I agree with mpyw. An entry level AVR should not breach the RM2K mark. 665 is a total rip-off

Those with the v663, have u ever got the receiver to display Dolby True-HD or DTS-MA?

The reason I'm asking is because I've gotten myself a Dvico 6500A and when I play a file with HD audio, all the receiver ever shows is "STRAIGHT" with either the DTS-MA or Dolby True-HD logo lit up on the left.

A simple search on Google seems to confirm the fact that the 663 will always display "STRAIGHT" when decoding HD audio.. I know its frivolous but displaying STRAIGHT sucks donkey a$$!
