I'm actually looking forward to the RX-V565

RX-V565BL LINK

It has most of the features of the 665 and 663, FOUR (4!) HDMI in and none of that satellite radio crap that we Malaysians won't be using anyway. And it is cheaper than the 665 and 663.

The Yamaha Comparison Chart on the 663, 665 and 565... HERE

Wonder when this will come? Will it be in time for the next AV Show at JW Marriott in July? biggrin.gif

looks good but it also missing some quality points such as:
- Digital ToP-ART <- no quality component used here
- Pure direct - useful if your dvd/bd player as better onboard dac
- S-Video upconversion - astro
- multi-channel decoder
- pre-outs

if price is not much difference then by all means try to get the 6-series instead smile.gif

Hi all Sifu,

I found Yamaha having a home theater set for RM1799, it is a match for Yamaha Rx-v365 and NP110 speaker set.

My usage on 70% music 30% movie , is it a good buy ?

my budget not more than RM2000

Yamaha RX-Vx65 series could be available in May 2009 +/-

Normally when there launching that time, price could be higher than will reduce slowly, so don't expect the selling price will cheaper than RX-Vx63 series.

I still strongly suggest buy RX-V663 now.

The reason why many of us waiting for the x65 series is because it comes with 4 HDMI IN vs 663's 2 HDMI IN. Some people have more than 2 HDMI devices to plug into the receiver. For my case, I have a BD player, HDMI DVD Player and the soon-to-purchase WDTV.

And the 565 is priced cheaper than the 663. Also those that don't need 7.1 can opt for the 465 (5.1) which is even cheaper and still have 4 HDMI IN.

As the latest news, Yamaha HQ has sold out all the RX-V663 & 863 stock. And stop to bring in any more since going to wait for new x65 series.
If somebody still interested with that, must have to make move faster before retailer finish their stock.

if they not bringing in new stock, and old 863 & 663 finito liao...when the new series will be available in M'sia? desa HT listed their selling price for 863 at RM2999 + free Marantz HDMI dvd player..was very tempted but now...since got new models...hhhrrmm....new think twice...

btw, why so difficult to get a BLACK color yammy amp?? most AV shops carry the silver color unit...when ask bout black unit, they say need to special order...why ar?? majority ppl like black color right?? silver looks a bit off lerr...if anyone know local yamaha distributor very well, can u kindly pass the word??? that we prefer black color units...dun just bring silver color units in...

U.S. pricing on the new yammy x65 series AVR

Yamaha RX-V365 - $250 (RM937)
Yamaha RX-V465 - $380 (RM1425)
Yamaha RX-V565 - $480 (RM1800)
Yamaha RX-V665 - $550 (RM2062)

i'm interested in the Creative GigaWorks S750 sats. but i'm worry about the impedance.
QUOTE
The satellites of the system are equipped with two speakers: a mid-woofer (middle frequencies) with a diffuser of 3” in diameter and an input resistance of 8 Ohms, and a high-frequency 1-inch 4 Ohm tweeter. There is a crossover board inside each satellite and the volume of the case is filled with synthetic wool.

sos: xbitlabs s750 review

i'm wondering what's the total impedance of a S750 satellite?
(need to know it for proper driving from avr)

Hey dudes.. just got my RX-V663, pairing it with Monitor Audio BR2 Fronts and Mordaunt Short 905i Centre.. as for the sub, i'm currently using the Monitor Audio BW10, i have a unit of RS12 with me currently, now having a headache between both of the subs.. the BW10 is just nice for my room.. but when the bass digs deeper, the wind noise is quite audible as it's a ported sub. The RS12 is a sealed sub and the bass is just wonderful.. the problem is.. does the price justifies the difference ? it's about 80% more from the BW10 sweat.gif
