Hope u get an offer soon too!
Anyway, I need to get my docs to be translated into english to apply for visa, need to find a not so expensive one, wonder who knows anywhere?
I found one that translate RM120 per page, is that price consider expensive or normal?
*
This depends on how many pages you have... If you have like 20 pages, that's very expensive!
I suggest translating only documents that must be sent.
Can you translate the documents yourself and then send for approval ? hmm.gif This method may save you some costs.

It is cheaper if you translate them yourself and get the documents approved by your Principle of former secondary school, dean of college etc. That would save you loads of cash.

But of course, you can always do it the easier way. =)

-Cheers!

Studying abroad in Hong Kong taught me that our assumptions about foreign cities are usually wrong — and that they can be changed by spending time letting the city change you.....

Hi, may I know when should we apply to University of Hong Kong for 2012 intake? Is the deadline at the end of the year 2011? And what are the grades requirement for A-Levels? The university website is not helpful at all. wink.gif

I see the website still say they having information day soon. So perhaps application will start after that, best if just keep checking on the website. Is always good to apply earlier.

Its great to find ppl frm HKU writing here. Im currently doing my Alevels and I intend to apply HKU for either engineering or Medicine. Can someone tell me how competitive the entry is for this two fields? And also how about the tuition fees is it standard for all courses for international students? If not how much are the tuition fees for Engineering and Medicine?

I am not in the best position to answer your questions because I didn't obtain my Bachelor degree in HK. I believe it is indeed very competitive to get into HKU to read medicine because there are only 2 universities in HK which offers Medicine. They do have a certain quota for international students and on top of that, you will have to compete with students from Mainland.

Chances of being offered a place to study Engineering would be higher. Although I am in the faculty of Engineering, I have yet spoken to any undergraduates because the academic semester has not started and I have just arrived at HKU a week ago.

Fees!

Well, I applied for dentistry(Sept 2011 intake) under local entry. I got the interview, flew all the way to Prince Phillip Dental Hospital where the interview was conducted. However, didn't get the offer because basically I said something I shouldn't have. It was a great experience nonetheless smile.gif Medicine and Law are extremely competitive. I heard the number of students is really small for medicine..for dentistry it's just a total of 50 students.

Anyway, don't be intimidated. Give it your best shot so you can look back with no regrets. All the best to you smile.gif

I would like to know more about HKU on campus accommodation. Can anyone recommend the best hall of residence for non locals.
I am looking for possible air conditional room, walking distance to campus and dining hall or restaurant.

Feedback appreciated.
