Hong Kong Student VISA application question.
Do i need to fill in the " Financial Situation Of Applicant" column stated in the VISA application form. I am still a student, is it necessary to declare my bank statement and income. Advise appreciated.
You need to be able to prove that you are able to support yourself throughout your period of studies. If you are coming over for undergrad without a scholarship, it is very likely that you will need a letter from your parents stating that they will support you and of course they will have to show that they are capable of supporting you. If you are here with a scholarship, then any letter that proves that you will receiving a sum of money would be sufficient. If you are here for postgraduate studies, your offer letter would state the amount of stipend you will be receiving and it should do the work as well.
It would be best if you could let me know the course you would be studying in HKU before I give any form of "advice"

Hi all,
I am thinking of going to any of the following 3 universities as a fee-paying/study-abroad student for fall 2012.
1. Chinese University of Hong Kong
2. City University of Hong Kong
3. Tsinghua University
I am currently enrolled in NTU's Accountancy.
There are conflicting information on the ranking of these universities and should I rely on the overall or the business school ranking?
Is there a difference between going for an education in HK as compared to China?
Are there any difference between the 3 universities (in terms of environment, classmates, course matching etc)?
CUHK and Tsinghua seem to have lesser courses as compared to City Uni. City Uni offers interesting courses like forensic science etc.
Is there any way that I can obtain the courses offered for Fall 2012? I can only find the planned course offering for CUHK but not for City Uni and Tsinghua.
Weighing the cost, tsinghua is relatively cheaper than CUHK and City Uni.
Thanks for your help!

Is it something like an exchange program? If so, I believe you should pick one that you would enjoy exploring. I think Tsinghua and CUHK are both highly regarded but not City Uni. Why limit yourself to only these 3 universities? Also, check on the medium of instruction for Tsinghua. Not sure whether they are still using mandarin which I doubt so.
Your decision between Tsinghua and CUHK would probably be based on your proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese. Pick the uni based on the language which you are more comfortable with.
