Hello all. I need some help with choosing a laptop. Details are as below.
1) What is your budget?Up to RM3000 (preferably less).
2) What size notebook would you prefer?15" or so.
3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?I don't want a Mac. That's about it. Would prefer if it was a bigger brand that has international support since I'll be bringing it to Canada in a couple of months. And I'll be studying there for 4 years.
4) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?Microsoft Office stuff. Standard web browsing. Torrents. A bit of audio recording, editing and mixing. Video converting. Hardly any gaming, though.
5) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? It'll mostly be left on my desk/in my cupboard. But I'll probably carry it around too if I have an important project/assignment to complete.
6) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?Other than CS, probably not.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?At least 2 to 3 hours. Longer battery life would be best, of course.
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person? No, but only if it's a big brand. Dell etc.
9) What OS do you prefer?I want to use Vista.
10) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?Either one. I prefer matte though.
11) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?Not really, but I don't want one that looks like it's an ancient artifact.
12) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?Next week. It has to last at least 4 years.
13) How much hard drive space do you want?250GB would be the minimum. Would prefer 320GB. Also, I would prefer 7,200rpm.
14) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD drive?A DVD burner.
15) Other specifications?3GB RAM or more would be good.
