mostly if u have a letter from ur college saying that you've underwent a course which was conducted in English, the university won't ask you to sit for any external english exams already

idk but i think i won't need to take IELTS in order to go aussie for my degree. Since my diploma is conducted in English ^^
*
i wish i could use the "my diploma is conducted entirely in English" excuse to bypass the IELTS test when i applied for a place in uni. not all unis agree to this. double check

and my take on whether to take IELTS or not if it isn't compulsory, is that its some sort of a wake up call to work on your English. get too low a score or worse, you can't even meet the requirements means you ought to start brushing up your English. i know its really expensive at RM 520 but compared to what you're gonna be spending here in terms of tuition fees, its a good investment in terms of being an indicator of where your standard of English is at

To do list for KVReninem, since he is the thread starter:
1)Port over the guides
2)Update the guides, if needed
3)Update member list
4)Set some ground rules for people wanting to participate in this thread
5)Link to this v2 and the original (v1) thread, just for future reference

Man, it seems like the 2500 limit is hit in 8 months or so. A bit worrying.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And on another matter, anyone in Brisbane looking for a place in late October/early November?

Are you a guy or a girl? This matters a lot. tongue.gif

For guys who don't really give a shit about fancy hairstyles, the cheapest you can find is along Elizabeth St, there's a hair dressing academy there where students cut your hair for 7AUD. Dirt cheap, but don't expect super good quality... it's bearable lah haha... For girls it's better to stay away from there. My sister goes to one Korean owned place along La Trobe St (Or maybe Lonsdale, not sure)... usually 25-30AUD, but most of them can't converse well in English so sign language is kinda vital tongue.gif

I used to go to the 7AUD one... need to jimat lah, AUD-RM very expensive wei... then I found one small one owned by a Chinese lady along Melrose St. near North Melb. Around 12AUD and it's not too bad too. Again, don't expect supermodel haircuts and it'll suffice. You'll probably need some transport to get there though, unless you're willing to walk 30 mins, that is if you walk as fast as I do.
