I feel it doesn't really suit me as I find it difficult to bring the sound out. My teacher and duet partner were able to produce beautiful tones with it. Perhaps I need to improve on my technique. Haha...

My chinese piece is brighter and more responsive so that's why i've been playing it more lately.

It is not safe to bring a lot of cash, I have no credit card.

An average. Oh ya, thank you. tongue.gif

if im not mistaken, most stores accept debit card?that means using your atm card to charge...
average would cost you somewhere near 500++
still think that you should prepare 1k...coz an average set you would be utilizing it for a period of time right?so get a better one...and better ones cost you laugh.gif

4. Always loosen the bow after use, or else the tension will damage the wood stick and it'll lose its curve and will feel dead when playing.

5. Do not have the shoulder rest set too narrow to clamp the body too tight, it'll damped the sound and responsiveness.

6. Do not leave your violin in a hot environment! The painting of the violin will melt and worse the glue that hold the wood pieces will come off.

I think that's about it, try not to knock your violin to cause nicks and dings so you can always sell it off in the future for higher value. wink.gif
*
Lose its curve? My teacher told me it will damage the hair... hmm.gif

I accidently dropped my violin while walking down the stairs, and it fell all the way down to the ground level. I got dents all over, and the chin rest had a huge crack shocking.gif Thank God it didnt broke into 2 pieces. I was emo the whole day. Kinda makes me feel like I'm abusing my new born child...

Btw I tend to have shaking tunes when bowing. Any advises? Im still a newbie. =)

Well, maybe they will accept debit card. We will see how. Yes, it will be for a long term use. Anyway, set as you mean the violin, outfit and bow or just the outfit?

If it is just outfit for RM1k, that is madness. shocking.gif

Lose it's curve and it will damage the hair at the same time.

Well I think you can change chin rest only. You should bring it to some violin luthier to have a look on your violin since it was dropped. The materials inside your violin (such as sound post) might be lose it's position or something.

Shakings are normal to every violinist. If your bow is not good or damage, it will affect your playing such as shaking. I advise you to control your bow smoothly. Ask your teacher to help you with that, if not you should buy a new bow (only with teacher's advise).

if im not mistaken its the hair,it shortens the lifespan i think...but both is true...the bow IS wooden...it tends to bend made by the tension

Lolz! the music god must really love you...but check it properly, see if the sound is effected or not...its normal to feel emo...i remember dropping my handmade classical guitar before...brand new that time,it was kinda like a short stab to your heart sweat.gif

Yes, just the outfit. RM500, still a lot unless it is really a very good outfit and worth the money.

I expect to put 4 bows, more space for accessories and a very big sheet music pocket!

LoL! I know it is crazy and yes, some collection. brows.gif Country fiddle players need a different bow. I am hoping to put 4 bows on it but when I got I will not use up all 4. I saw some outfit can really put up to 4 bows.

Ya! I do not want to get those sheet music pocket that jutting the sides of the paper. It is annoying when I take out my music to play. doh.gif Feels it like a dead paper.

Probably.. Because I can hear there's something inside when toppling the violin...
Pieces of wood maybe?

practicing more
Yup practise makes prefect.

B]or your fingers are shaking when you play[/B]?
Hmm I don't think so. But it used to be shaking.. The first time I was holding the bow, my fingers were shaking. Hehe.
I tend to apply alot of pressure when bowing. But after playing longer, it relaxed a lil bit. Kinda feel like Im playing it stiffly. I see other violinist playing it so smoothly..

4 bows??!!
why do you need 4 bows?

Lol. Its like a pro hit man choosing the right weapon from his outfit. tongue.gif
