I have actually set my eyes on a Palit N35PV as motherboard for my target Rock Bottom OverClock system - the reason being that supposedly nVidia chipsets overclocks better than Intel ones on those budget KVR type of memories as the FSB is completely decoupled from the memory bus speed and the rest of the NB components. Unfortunately PC Zone who have listed it at RM195 told me that they are no longer stocking it, and the next cheapest nForce 7100 motherboard is RM215@TM (above the RM200 budget), so it looks like a 945G is the next best thing, unless anyone can point me to a good prices NF7100 mainboard. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I'm thinking of grabbing a E6300 (I think) from a friend and those thing have 1066MHz FSB. Anyone here have experience doing this 1066 -> 1333 FSB mod ? http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132900

QUOTE(xk2 @ Jul 26 2008, 11:27 AM) i jus change my asrock wolfdale1333 to msi 945gcm7.and change ram to this ocz ddr2 800,previously using KVR fp-y5. i found tat my e2160 can reach 299mhz on asrock, but with tis msi board,i only can go untill 295,duno is my ram's problem or wat.since there is not much adjustment to play in this mobo BIOS,so quite hard to tweak it step by step got 3.6Ghz on Intel E5400.. Uses BSEL mod and doing some bios settting just using MSI ms-7507 cheapboard.. try on E2180 got 3.1GHZ max... FSB got Max at 1.1Ghz only...

Nice way to necro 3yrs old thread, for Pentium D 805, Just change the FSB from 266 to 333FSB. This will make ur CPU run @ 3.33Ghz from 2.66Ghz. A clean 666Mhz overclock without upping voltage.
if u wish to bring it pass 3.5GHz with our kind of weather, u might need some voltage increase.

why u complain low temp on CPU? I got similar CPU pentium Dual core E5800 but 800FSB version, Stock @ 1.28v @ 3.2GHz (200FSBx16) G41 mobo Cooler Master TX-3 I manage to pull @ 3.73GHz(266x14) @ 1.29v or 3.83GHz(333x11.5) @ 1.322v So I think u can lower ur voltage down to 1.32-1.33v Not sure if mine is golden chip or not, because it can do the same 3.83(333x11.5) @ 1.322v only on Prime95 and battiefield3 beta a few days. not bad for a old CPU to play latest game.
