the whole body canot be hard, bcoz of the laws of physics. the harder the front, the higher the inertia n imaging the force resulted from a collision... they have a safe n strong passenger cell, tats wat important.

I think most of our dads or relatives only own volvo, seldom see forumers own a volvo unless if its an old one. My dad also used to own the 240, well its a boxy, fuel gruzzler but rock solid indeed. Once an old corolla kissed the volvo rear bumper on a collision and the front section of the corolla was badly damaged. The bumper from the volvo just got a minor starch. notworthy.gif

I would love to own the current S40 more than the 3 series.

I would like to get a used Volvo S40 if possible... I like the design, safest car in the world, 2.4L engine, but second hand also selling at RM130K like that... if RM 80k can consider lo, better than a new city and vios anytime

i'ld say volvo is one of the safest car to own in the world... if u notice all de volvo's range now obtained at least a full 5-star rating for Euro NCAP crash test... if it doesn't obtain at least a full five star, volvo wouldn't manufacture that car... i hav a fren which her dad owns a volvo 240GL, it might b an old volvo but been in an accident b4, back hit by bus and the front hit a lorry yet her dad sustain only minor injuries... her dad still kept that car till now coz that it save his life b4 thumbup.gif

First generation of S40 (pre-2004) shares the same chassis with Mitsu Carisma and Proton Waja. So, you can substitute ori Volvo chassis and suspension parts with Proton parts.

probably due to limited spareparts from sweden compared to germany.
There are merc, audi/VW, bmw, from germany while volvo alone from sweden. Even Skoda and Saab suffers the same thing

I like the C30 a lot but it only has seats for four people. The only other reason keeping people buying this car is that it will devalue as fast as a rock.
Thats why the slogan says:

Volvo Cars North America showed that basic V-8 power might not be enough for its XC90 sport wagon. A one-off concept vehicle features a 600-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

old volvo uses 3 kinds of carb
-SU (fitted in 122, 144, 244)
-zenith stromberg (144, 240)
-pierburg (240)

to adjust air/fuel ratio in zenith or pierburg carb, you have to take out the damper piston (the one screwed on top of the carb), put a long thin screwdriver through the oil hole in the carb until it reaches the needle. Twist it to adjust needle height with respect to jet.

you can browse few websites that provide some information on tuning volvo carburettors.

for carb oil, using a cheap 20W-50 mineral oil is sufficient.

IMHO, although RB has more HP compared to stock volvo engine at similar cc, the stock engine has proven to be a durable/indestructible engine, running 20-30 years continuously without a need for overhaul.

i like the S60 T5..it is very fast..tested drive twice before it officially launch, the 1st n 2nd gear is very powerful..but i think it lacks of some low-end power like what the 2.0T having, may be because of the turbo lag.

Volvo cars..no 2nd hand value one..and the parts is super expensive..

I always wondering WHY people buy Volvo?

It's a misconception that Volvo cars are the safest car in the world. Well at least not the new Volvo models. Volvos are not even known for their safety features, i.e. ABS, Traction control, brake system. Their cars are so much heavier compared to others thus takes longer to stop. A test was done to compare a BMW 5 series, Merc E Class and Volvo S60. The S60 took the longest to stop.

The perception that a car build looking like a box therefore the metal does not require bending hence the car is stronger, is not true. Furthermore, cars which goes against impact (Volvo) does not save the occupants inside the car. Cars which absorbs the impact (i.e. crumple upon a front collision like BMW and Merc) saves the occupant inside. Ever seen a BMW 7 series crash on YouTube? The car usually looks badly damaged, its was build to do that - To save the life of its occupant at the expense of the car. Of course, this does not apply to all brands of car, if you know what I mean wink.gif

Nonetheless, I agree that some Volvo models look quite good. Mainly the S40 and S80. But I wouldn't be caught dead driving one. It's just so... so "Un-Cool"

(These are merely my opinion of Volvos. Please don't quote me! I have test drove quite a number of cars and Volvos just don't cut it for me)

Volvo owner here, currently own XC90 2.5, overall it's a good car and so far don't have big problem, but always got little "STUPID" problem, like alarm module battery spoilt, but you cant just change the "NiMh" battery, you need to change the whole module. So far I still haven't change it because, not worth the money. but every time i start the engine, there will be error message and it's kind of annoying.

The car parts can be bit expensive, but if you go Independent workshop that know VOLVO you can get cheaper compare to SC. Another thing I don't like Volvo SC, they tend to replace rather than repair. shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

Though I like the XC90, But the biggest turn off to me, is that the engine use timing belt instead of timing chain. (even my 18 year old w124 use timing chain, double summore)

Other than that it's a good car, the interior reminds me of an IKEA furniture tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

I am more inclined on the VW DSG problem and also both VW and Volvo are under Federal Auto which is not really reputable for their after sales services.

Not sure if there are any Volvo users who are willing to shed some light on this issue?

Not sure what you are implying but the newer volvo's are using ford ecoboost engines and powershift gearbox. Judgeing from how well the car is selling - i dont think you got a reason to be worried about smile.gif

The cost of ownership (spare parts and maintenance) and quality of service centre is a worry for me. I don't want to end up waiting for my car in garage for weeks if there is any problem due to spare parts not available smile.gif

most chasis parts are from ford.

ford isnt cheap as well but there's always EBAY.

to be honest - those expensive parts - will need replacement but the replacement last for a long time. bushing, mounting, etc is very durable.

the only problem with newer cars is electrical and sensory

to be honest - those expensive parts - will need replacement but the replacement last for a long time. bushing, mounting, etc is very durable.

the only problem with newer cars is electrical and sensory
*
Now I am not sure if I were to wait for the s60 facelift due next year or just get the current model. V40 is just at the sweet spot but the lack of space (legroom for rear passenger ) is a turn off as it shares the same platform as ford focus and Mazda 3

I am actually looking at v50 2.4 at the moment. May I know if there is any owner who can tell me whether its worth to buy? I'm lookin at 2 nd hand actually. Is the performance good as well as fuel efficiency? Is the airbag 6 as claimed?

quite some feedback on transmission problem for XC90 T6 circa 2004 (google it)

I would say check the car properly before buying. send it to a mechanic who is experienced in Volvo cars.

Dear Sifus,

I am interested to getting a Volvo 2.4i S40 (2005).

The budget I would have is around 5K per year for maintenance - is it too high or too low ?

I own a E39 528i - it cause me around 3K per year - since no experience with Volvo - hope someone can help to answer.

Thanks in advance.

95% driving around town still gets 400km fulltank? That is awesome for a 2.5 litre car

Not sure if you are going to service the car in Federal Auto or outside. Though I would think it may be around RM5k+/- or more. When under the maintenance package(for XC60), the 1st year's service is a low RM1.3k+ but the 2nd service in the 2nd year comes up to about RM2.3k. Not too sure about the S40 but if servicing in Federal Auto I think you might need to get ready a sum of RM2k+ for normal services, excluding wear and tear parts.

Maintenance of a Volvo is certainly not cheap.

If the new ones, you can get the T5 is best among all, else if budget is an issue, T4 also can.

But once you start to drive a S60, i affraid your brother wont want to come out of the car. Keep on driving. Cause it is damm nice.

Now ALL the new volvo come with free services for 5 years. Great deal, imagine only parts wear and tear, all other thing under 5 year you dont have to pay a cent, not even engine oil etc.

Btw, my xc60 services cost RM1k, it is 20k km or 1 year. Compare to other brand, 10k km or 6 mth, RM400++ more or less the same.

great family with volvo cars around. Mines also power shift as well, hate the jams especially, cause it jerks. But otherwise its fine for me.

Dream is to get a XC 60, and hope to get a XC 90 soon as well, well the old one.

Cause the new one, i think its a bit far for me.

I plan to get a new Volvo.

May I know how much the price for normal service and maintenance?
And the service interval? I heard it's every 20K KM. Not really sure.
What about the price for parts? i.e. shock absorber, break pad, engine mounting?

Any input is welcome. Thanks.

Please let me know parts that you've changed.

none yet, cause it is a 3 year old car. Mostly maintenance. But only the battery RM 780.00 per piece.

Any other item is fuse RM20.00. V40 T5 probably maybe better. For regular maintenance expect about 950.00 to 2500 per 20K KM service.

Anyway if you are getting the V40 T5, you dont need to worry about service cause it is free. So Why bother, plus any issue with breakpad, engine mounting and absorbers are all in the warranty.

Yes, I'm getting a new car.

The 555 package that you mentioned is the standard warranty or it's an extended warranty?
If it's an extended warranty, I'd presume it will cost additional.
If I need to pay for the additional, do you have any idea how much it costs?

no, all new volvo cars sold in Malaysia now comes with a 555 package. So if you getting new, no issue, but to double check, you can always go to glenmarie to find out, else call up and get a salesperson to bring the V40 T5 to you at your home to test drive.

Yes you can do that. if you are really keen in the car. But i must say, getting a V40, you will never regret it. its a bloody nice looking car.

Noted. Thanks for your advice.

The "555" seems good.
I'd consider S60 if I'm not "haunted" by the part replacement cost. laugh.gif

Will call the local salesperson to find out more details.

respect you choices. They are all great cars. But as you know s60 is coming out with new model, and make sure you get the T5 with ACC, else its just another car.

Heard from SA estimated launch time is sometime this year. hopefully ith Drive E like XC60 (which is delayed from april till now...)

wonder why VM SA says only launching/selling mid next year? Trying to dump off all the old stock first? I also heard there are alot of 2012/2013 various models in their inventory.

That's where the confusion is!
wonder why VM SA says only launching/selling mid next year? Trying to dump off all the old stock first? I also heard there are alot of 2012/2013 various models in their inventory.
*
Yes that's the reason, sell old s60 first. Xc 60 can launch because all old stock almost finish.

Saw plenty of Volvo S/V60 and even S80 facelifts when passing by the Volvo assembly plant.

here is the S60 facelift (not really clear pic but you get to see the grill is bigger)

Since the new FL S/V 60 is already here at the assembly plant therefore the only logical reason why I was told by SA that VM will only start selling them middle of 2015 could be VM are to trying to dispose the current old stock. doh.gif

And dun forget Plotong hv juz recently appointed a psychopath in their Mgmt, this ars****e will blardy hell raise all cars prices in Malaysia by next year just to keep on protecting that specific junk.

So basically we are forced to buy the old model to enjoy the present 'low' price or wait next year for the new FL model to be sold at a 'human rights violation' higher price.... mad.gif

Ohhhh...Malaysia...endless possibilities.... cry.gif

It's for Thai market. All the Volvo ckd here are for South East Asia (except Singapore) market. Even Philippines also got the facelift already.

none yet, cause it is a 3 year old car.

Wow, Rm950 is engine lubricant change only right?
Major service cost you RM2.5k?

Since i haven't done even first service yet, so i don't know much on the price. tongue.gif

anyone of you have seen the new XC 60? i think all in all it is a good package. if you dont care so much of the power boot and also ACC i think its a perfect price, with a new better engine and gearbox.

Else add about 2600 to get the digital display that be enough for it. The rest are just extra with no function.

i also wonder why, and wonder how, Cheaper price is advantage, but taking out special features like power boot and ACC i think, hmmm...

Maybe volvo Malaysia did a survey and study that malaysians don't use ACC or dont know how to use ACC. And other malaysian drivers always cut into your lane without signaling you thats why the ACC is utter crap. Just my assumption. Probably all in all is to see the market feedback if we really need a power boot and ACC. if we complain, maybe they put in back again next year.

That's why they take it out.

As for the power boot, they probably found that, Malaysians are always rushing, so waiting for the boot to close is just too long. So they remove it and plus most Malaysians are obese. Probably they feel that we need more exercise. Hehe.

Else the rest, new engine, new gear box, yup, its great to have new things at a slightly lower price.

The car will even have what Volvo calls “Swedish air,” a system that closes external ducts when it detects outside pollution.

go back to SC bro like that, my experience with these 'so called' specialists aren't any cheaper than SC, especially when it comes to problems they aren't familiar with. They are trial and error and ruin a lot more than they fix.

should be can lah, no more under warranty what they want to make noise about.

i mean it's my experience last time with a volvo 940, those outside fellas not say much better, a lot trial and error ending up changing parts which do not require changing to solve a problem

Haven't seen the new XC60 yet, but from what I read, VM removed quite a bit of features compared to the previous version. ACC is very useful for highway driving, but not good for traffic congestions where other cars can easily cut in front of the your car because of the big gap. I think the LDW and RSI has been removed too. The power tailgate feature is actually very nice to use, adds a touch of luxury to the model because only high-end SUVs and sedans have that feature. RSI isn't very useful and LDW is also useful for highway driving because it alerts you if you drift out of your lane. I use it only when I'm on the highway; normal city roads, I de-activate it.

Based on paper specs, the new Drive-e engine and 8-spd GB is damn good... more Hp and torque, faster acceleration and lower fuel consumption. I'm averaging 7.5km/ltr with 60% city and 40% highway driving. The digital display will be useful to see the speed because the short, thin floating needle in my XC60 is hard to see when I'm going fast.

Other than the fuel consumption, all in all, the XC60 is still a good SUV to have; made even better now with the improvement in the engine and GB at a lower price.

I wish they bring in ACC for V40 and upgrade it to Drive-E engine for T5... You can adjust the distance between the front cars with ACC. Think it can go as near as possible but still malaysian cars will be able to "cut in" tongue.gif

Bro, you also have REP. I bought the XC60 under my SIL REP quota, cost 212k and I added 30k worth of accessories like the RSE, front and rear cameras, body kits and internal storage parts.

The shortest distance for ACC is around 1.5-2 cars' length; can't go nearer than that. I tried it with low speed and high speed; all the same. But I have to admit the Powershift GB is quite smooth too; hardly feel the down/up shift when changing gears.

Is your V40 using the 6-spd Powershift or 8-spd Aisin GB? And how well does the cross traffic alert work?

its using 6 speed auto geartronic. not powershift (dual clutch) nor aisin sad.gif just booked it last week. havent gotten the car yet. test drove it that time feel the acceleration is slightly sluggish but bearable. power delivery is very good with 5 cylinder 2.0 turbo engine. wish it was drive-E tho. heard this 5 pot is fuel guzzler sad.gif

dont have money to splurge on the XC60 so have to settle with V40.

there is a caveat tho. only CKD cars, and no, i am not earning 6 digits income despite coming back form overseas. was forced to come back due to work visa expired sad.gif

AMG A45 and 911 are both CBU cars.

Tho they recently changed the rules you can get 1 CBU car tax free (whilst my entitlement is 2 CKD cars)

Thanks. You must have a look at the rolling test, not a scratch on the car man.

there is a caveat tho. only CKD cars, and no, i am not earning 6 digits income despite coming back form overseas. was forced to come back due to work visa expired sad.gif

AMG A45 and 911 are both CBU cars.

Tho they recently changed the rules you can get 1 CBU car tax free (whilst my entitlement is 2 CKD cars)

it is only for the ones who applied after 1st April this year when the rules has changed

XC60 is a good car. but if you can wait till next year, there will be the T6 model launch with better equipment. otherwise, the current ones good enough.

The current REP Price for the new XC60 is around 190k++ if i remember correctly. it is over my budget tho. tongue.gif

you can refer the price at http://www.volvocars.com/my/sales-services...pages/xc60.aspx

Hi Volvo fans,

Im a 2013 S60 owner and I'm looking for spare parts suppliers.  Anyone knows where I can get a windscreen Wiper for my S60?

I could always go to Federal Auto, but they are charging a bomb for a pair of wipers!

Thanks.

Hi bro, I normally go and buy volvo stuff (but never bought wiper) at V Super Auto, near pandan jaya. since it's near to mrr2, and also they usually reserve 1 or two parking bay in front of their kedai for their customer, so it's easier. No need to pusing2 looking for parking. Do call them first, to check the price and stock.

since you just buying a wiper, why not just search at car parts shop near your house, save time and petrol biggrin.gif

hi dude;

I'm a volvo owner ( old model 240 91' injection B200E / 740 92' turbo B230FT still under restore ) normally we look for certain parts shop like VAUTO/VSUPER/ and others for such thing.. my Bosch wiper just cost me around rm30++ a pair.. timing belt original rm67, oil filter original rm25/30 and so on..

FA is official and all charges yeah.. expensive haha..

for mechanic and repairs, u may look for some of our recommended workshop+mechanics.. not expensive of course.. he do 240/740/940 RWD and also s40/s60/s80/xc90 and other volvos.. Mercedes also can.. in Jln Bukit Kuda Klang.. Pm me for more details, and i"ll post some pics here later.. even today I'll go there to replace my long shaft coupling full set ( also called U JOINT ).. my car is already 23 years old, previous owner not care musch of maintenance, so after buy, i need to maintain and replace all worn out parts, oil/seal etc.. just done replace timing belt, alternator ( kaput ), alternator belt, engine oil ( cheap mineral SAE40 is ok for 240 ), oil filter, gearbox oil, light relays and few more..

It's good to see that long lasting parts, just need to replace after 10/15/20/25 years!! thats volvo.. legendary bricks, safety and smooth to drive smile.gif

VOLVO FOR LIFE!

Guys, I'm planning to get a secondhand XC60. Whats the difference between 3.0 & 2.0 in term of specs, maintenances & problems? Any common issues wt the XC60 that I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am driving xc60 3.0 year 2009, CBU. I never drive 2.0, so I not sure the difference. Power wise for 3.0 , it is more than enough for me. I hardly need to tekan pedal to max. but drink petrol quite a lot la. when the petrol price was rm2.1/L, drive below 3000rpm most of the time (start moving from stop) , around RM0.285/km

Maintenance cost, because it is 20k km/1 year, so if you compare to other brand's 10k/15k services, it is reasonable for a conti car.
IINM 3.0 use more engine oil. Cause there was once after services, the signal shows engine oil critically low, at the end they come to my house and top up. And said they made a mistake, thought mine is 2.0, so add in 2.0's engine oil.
As for the problem, never really had any major problem (already 150k km running).
Minor problem that I faced, or issues you should check for the car
1) both my headlight clip are broken a bit after 5 years, still usable but if you really push the headlight, it will move a bit, change a new one cost RM5000, as long when driving I dont feel the light is goyang-goyang so I dont bother (to change).
2) Engine mounting, there are total 5 engine mountings for my car, 1 was broken, 2 were nearly broke, so I change all 5 of them, cost me RM2000 plus.
3) Wiper, RM269 (ya I know expensive), but that is after 4 years plus using the original wiper.
Thats all the thing I change other than that just normal services every 20k km in between having major services according to schedule. I did all services in federal auto, so if you decide to source from outside, might be cheaper.

A very useful info indeed. Thanks for the experience sharing bro. Currently secondhand price for 3.0 & 2.0 is not much difference. Of coz in term of power the 3.0 is better. I'm just worried on the maintenance parts. Any other issues that I should concerns when shop for one?
Thanks a lot.

Hi bro,

Do you require AWD ? IINM in Malaysia only the 3.0 T6 have AWD. The 2.0 are FWD, I discover this when surveying to buy new volvo. I'm Quite dissapointed and endup not buying it. Dont think currently Volvo Malaysia are selling any new AWD XC60. Only pre-owned 3.0 t6 have AWD.

Again IINM, the only AWD Volvo car that Volvo Malaysia selling are XC90. Others like V40 or V40 cross country, V60 and XC60 all FWD. It SAD sad.gif

however do correct me if any of my post are incorrect.

Is 2.0 RWD T5 engine sufficient enough for normal city driving? Will it be underpower to carry a 2300++kg body weight? I'm a bit confuse as all these while my experience only driving sedan. Any 2.0 XC60 owners care to share their experience?

I believe it's sufficient(but I did not test drive it), The engine are 2.0 turbocharge 4 inline (not T5) and it's front wheeled drive. Still produced 200hp. They are using engine based on ford ecoboost 2.0 . Some volvo tend to share parts with ford. For my volvo s40 water expansion tank literally got "Ford Motor Corp" written under it. but not sure with my XC90 though (never change it).

If you want to be sure, why not go for a test drive.

My noob knowledge, 2.0+turbo producing 200hp is common, like japs cars.. yeah body is 2.3 tonnes but it can carry it.. maybe u not plan to race the car with it. Old model like 240 with 1.8 tonnes body weight, got much lower hp, N/A around below 130hp but still can have a safe and fun ride.. latest model have better power of course.. but so far I'm stick to old models, it's cheap to own for a poor man like me smile.gif

Is it better to own a hassle-free brand new XC60 wt 555 package & new engine technology or opt for pre-reg older model but save more than rm100k++...
hhmmm, tough decision...

@lamir_loco, I think you are right.  I understand that all current local models in Volvo are all FWD... Ive not seen AWD?

But with FWD, my volvo tend to have back sway, especially when taking corners and the sway is much more obvious when going on any roundabouts with small bumps.  When hitting these small bumps, Me and my passengers can feel the behind of the car floating and swaying sideways at around 50kmh.  I dunno if its a defect in design or something's wrong with my S60.

Any Sifu's can advice?

@lamir_loco, I think you are right.  I understand that all current local models in Volvo are all FWD... Ive not seen AWD?

But with FWD, my volvo tend to have back sway, especially when taking corners and the sway is much more obvious when going on any roundabouts with small bumps.  When hitting these small bumps, Me and my passengers can feel the behind of the car floating and swaying sideways at around 50kmh.  I dunno if its a defect in design or something's wrong with my S60.

Any Sifu's can advice?

I suggest check the undercarriage, might be something wrong, my s40 (also fwd) don't have that problem.

S60 is a good and sporty car, shouldn't have this issue, need to check on your rear suspension ( shock absorbers / spring ), all bush and also sway/anti-roll bar condition..

my experience on my previous 240, it's because of worn out rear shock absorbers, replace it and problem solved!

Volvo cuts complexity to stand out from German rivals

Volvo CEO Samuelsson is proud that the XC90 touchscreen control panel has helped reduce the number of buttons in the crossover.

June 11, 2015 06:01 CET
BIRMINGHAM, England -- Volvo will make less complexity a selling point against its German premium rivals, CEO Hakan Samuelsson said.

He used three numbers -- 55, 37 and eight -- to make his point. The numerals 55 and the 37 represent the number of buttons available in recently launched models from the two of the three German luxury brands BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Eight represents the number of buttons needed to control the main functions in the new Volvo XC90.

“No one wants buttons hidden down in the dark areas around the seats,” Samuelsson told the Automotive News Europe Congress here on Wednesday.

His point was that Volvo would not try to match its rivals because it has a newfound confidence in itself and what it has to offer. “No one wants to buy a copy. They buy the original,” he said.

Another original idea Samuelsson mentioned during his presentation was an app-based service that allows a Volvo owner to get groceries or dry cleaning delivered to their parked vehicle. The delivery person is given one-time access to the car to drop off the items. They then shut and lock the car and send the Volvo owner a text message informing them the items have been delivered.

The examples are part of Volvo's efforts to re-invent the brand, which was bought from Ford Motor Co. by billionaire China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. in 2010.

At that time Volvo had very little new product and was reliant on Ford for its platforms and engines. Starting with the new-generation XC90, which is arriving at dealerships in Europe this month, and will be in U.S. showrooms in July, the automaker's engines and platforms will be 100 percent Volvo.

Samuelsson said that in four years the XC90 will be the oldest model in the brand's lineup as the result of its aggressive product offensive that Volvo hopes will increase global sales to 800,000 by 2020 from 465,866 last year and a targeted 500,000 this year.

When asked whether Volvo's chief target was Audi, BMW or Mercedes as it chases its 2020 goal Samuelsson said that the focus was on reaching customers who are less interested in horsepower and more focused on showing that they take responsibility for the environment and their family.

Volvo car safety tech cut accident by 28%.

Volvo Cars’ City Safety technology also delivers more immediate benefits to Volvo drivers, with insurance companies offering discounts of between 20-25% on insurance premiums on several markets, thanks to this innovative technology.

For pupil who does not know about coasting function:

Coasting function will automatically disengages engine and transmission when release the accelerator pedal and begin to coast in neutral until the driver depress the accelerator or brake pedal.

Hi volvo sifus , newbie here, I got a quite old volvo s60, but still new enough to have all the features and stuff. One question, mine is a 2.0 litre with a T beside it, and I'm assuming the T stands for Turbocharged, so it means my car comes with a in-built turbo? How does that works? And how do I know if my turbo is actually working ?

yes i think it comes with a turbocharged engines, even very old volvos have turbos. most modern engines have intelligent programming to make sure that turbolag is non-existent. basically, if u have driven naturally aspirated (no turbos or supercharger) all your life, u have to rev the engine to quite a high rpm before the full horses kick in. with turbos, engines can achieve maximum power at lower rpm. with old turbo engines with noticeable turbolag, u can experience it in such a way....basically when u floor the throttle, the car goes slow, slow, slow until it reaches the rpm where the turbo will kick in and u feel a sudden rush of power.

Mine was an older 2013 FL model with 6sp GB and 240Hp; my gear knob has lighting and my seats are black leather. After 2.5 years, I still love driving it specially on long distance trips. It drinks petrol for short drives, but can be quite fuel-efficient on the highway, provided you don't step on the pedal too hard. I read that the newer Drive-e models are more fuel-efficient with the new engines and 8-sp GB.

Space-wise, I've yet to find another SUV with the same amount of boot space; all the others that I've seen has smaller boot space (I haven't check the Q5 yet). My battery died in the first year and I called VOC; they came within 1 hour and I was charged RM700 for a new battery.

What specific things do you want to know?

I think the older version of XC60 does not come with the LCD display? the new facelift ones should come with the LCD display. An easy way to differentiate is the old model meter cluster is the 2 round dial i think. The new ones are adaptive digital display

The facelift just launched this year so maybe no second hand ones in mudah yet.
but they are giving discounts on brand new xc60.

Seen this bad boy in flesh the first time. OMG it's fxxxxxg stunningly build. It's definitely worth every penny. But its a CBU R-Design direct from Sweden so might feel different when they turn it to CKD in Malaysia. Can't wait to test drive it.

It looks like the new XC90 to me. The round knob seat control located near the end/front of the seat has a small lever to change the control function. This driver's seat has 14 ways to adjust the seat.
