I have a question regarding warrants and privatization.  If a company goes private, and pays off all its stock holders the worth of the stock, what happens to the warrant holders?

Do they get paid the value of the warrants after conversion to stock price as well?
*
They will offer a price on the warrant as well.
But only applicable to ordinary warrant, or WA, WB, WC etc.

Call warrant is issued by third party and has nothing to do with the privatisation offer, but being settled by issuing bank according to the CW clause set in the first place.

Hi. Can anyone pls tell me how i can find out whether a company has a policy to share its profit with shareholders in the form of dividend and its ratio? Thinking of moving some funds into such companies. Thanks!

I usually will read up their annual report or more specifically their chairman's statement regarding their dividend policy.

The policy is not written nor promised.

Just some company do maintain the dividend throughout years after years at specific rate, or amount according to the profit, although there is no fixed rate being set and promised.

Only reit has specific ratio of must >90% of its earning, as if not, they will not able to enjoy tax exempted benefit.

Additional shares being issued.
Similar to right issue, just it is being issued to specific identified investors, instead to shareholders across.

There are good and bad for it.

Good: The company can have more $ as working capital (got more $ to do project or pay their liabilities).

Bad: The initial shareholder % of ownership will be diluted. (i.e. The EPS and dividend may be lesser).

Good or bad still depends on the situation and how do the company use the $. Means it can be good and it can also be bad.

It depends on individual credit limit give by the broker house.

It is all about trust between.
Just like doing business, whether you insist your client to pay you first before delivery or give how much credit for the client.

For technical analysis education, one of the best free sites in my opinion with a good beginner tutorial is Babypips. Take their "School" tutorial from beginner all to the end. Although it is a Forex site, the essential basics of technical analysis will be covered fully.

Another great link and considered the dictionary of investing is Investopedia where every article, tutorial and term is explained. You can use their 'search' function as a guide or 'investing' dictionary if you're aren't sure about certain terms when reading financial articles.

And obviously, GOOGLE is always your best friend to search for online material.

FA is easy to pick up.
read the balance sheet, cash flow statements, and P&L statements. as long as you understand every single term in there, incl. topline/btmline growth, margins, operating ratios, cash flow, gearing, financial ratios you'll be good.

i learnt TA by myself first by downloading chartnexus (n occasionally attending talks by benny @ nextview) , then googling/investopediaing every single indicator, learning how its used and backtesting it to see its suitability in msia. my personal preference is trends and momentum.

From how frequently I use them (most -> least). SMAs, Fibo Retracements, Bollinger Bands, MACD, Stochastic, ATR, Parabolic SAR, ADX, OBV and CCI, if u ask other ppl they might say candlesticks are important also, but my experience was they give a lot of false signals. how you use TA (to speculate/predict, or complement FA, or timing, etc) is very important also.

anyway, just sharing my experience.. peace be with you. icon_rolleyes.gif

my opinion: u need FA to study the stock of choice, then use TA for timing of entry. True enuff like many ppl said TA gave false signal, but use to analyse the movement/momentum. i mostly look for price/volume movement, the best indicator..

my 2 sen..

I know that the purpose of a private company to go public is to expand it's capital by selling the company share to public. It can be done via the assistance of an underwriter and the underwriter has an option to buy all of the shares 1st then only sell to public OR just act as a mediate between public and the particular company. So, my question is who are the underwriter in Malaysia? Is it Bursa?

Thanks. I have another few questions regarding ipo. Let say a X company wanted to issue 1000 lots for it's first IPO. Does it mean , the company needs to sell all the 1000 lots through its ipo first before to get listed in bursa? Btw, is there any requirement stated the minimum profit for a company to get listed?

Thanks again.

IPO just mean distributed existing company share to public only.
Let say the company origin has 1 mil shares on the owner. Now do IPO for listing, the owner can distribute 500K to public, and keep remaining 500k. As long as the listing requirement is met, public spread more than 25%, then it is fulfilling the listing requirement.

Yes, can check the KLSE faq section, I believe the info can be found there.

What if the public shares is less than 25%? how much % indicates privatisation?

I am using Public bank online trading... The General Info shows the total shares issued by a company... When the company announces additional listing of shares or bonus issues or rights issue, would the "Total shares issued" in the "General Info" page increased? Or would it only change after that financial year?
