Year Ending/Period Ending/Ended Date: 31/03/2011
EX Date: 01/11/2010
Payment Date: 18/11/2010
Stock Par Value:"

How do you calculate the dividend you would gain for announcement (2)? Assuming the par value as 1. And would this dividend affects the opening price of the stock on 1/11/2010? Would the opening price be set to a decrement of 3%? Please advise. Thank you.

if 1000 share, then
50c*1000*0.75=375
4c*1000=40
total = 415.
tax can claim back if you are not paying the top tax bracket.

Hmm... Where do you get the 0.75 from? What does top tax bracket mean? And how does a person claim the tax back? Thank you.

haha there seems to be too much to ask, are they any online tutorial/user guide/documentation to explain them? I think maybe a bit tedious to ask in forum...

Added on November 11, 2010, 9:03 pmHi please help to explain these few term/data

user posted image

1) What is B-Q and S-Q?

2) What is T-B%?

3) We only charge (Brokerage Fee, Clearing Fee, Stamp Duty) when the buy/sell is matched? Or when we submit the buy/sell (include unmatched, Odd Lots)?

Thanks a lot icon_question.gif
*
Hi!

1) B-Q is the Buy Queue. When you buy a share, your order will be queued in the Buy Queue. If someone sells you his shares, then B-Q amount will reduce and the S-Vol amount will increase in equal proportion. S-Q is the Sell Queue. When you sell a share, your order will be queued in the Sell Queue. If someone buys your shares, then the S-Q amount will reduce and the B-Vol amount will increase. (B-Vol and S-Vol mean successfully traded volume for Buy and Sell respectively)

2) I am not sure about T-B%

3) Yes. You will only be charged if your orders are matched. You will not be charged when your orders are still in queue. These charges are only for DONE trade.

Hi fellow trader, I'm new to stock trading so need some advice

I'm frequently going into the trade detail page to check the trade transaction, but i'm not 100% understand them
This is the trade list i'm using, i'm not sure whether you guy using them same

So my question is, are there any user manual/guide to explain meaning of each field/value on this trading system?
I'm asking my trading firm as well on this whether they have detail explaination course on this, so just checking how you guy learn those interface. icon_question.gif

Hi!
I don't think there is any user manual/guide four your queries. However, some or most of the fields are understandable. What you don't understand, you can post it here. I believe many people would be kind enough to explain to you. Anyway, I think you are using Public Bank share trading?

1. Clear off residual unmatched intended transacted stocks, this especially during a down market day.
2. Influence the closing price so that it will be higher/lower.
*
I think what cherroy means is that:

1. A person wants to sell his stocks at a price (a high price and maybe you can't see the price in the queue list), but the trade is not matched or maybe partially matched only. Then, when the bourse is closing soon, he will quickly change the selling price to a price that you can see in your queue list or maybe the LAST price so that they would be matched immediately. This would happen especially during a down market day where a lot of people are trying to get rid of their shares or when bad announcement/financial report is released by the company.

2. Since the bourse is closing soon, thus the LAST or CLOSING price of today would be the REF or OPENING price of tomorrow. So, some people just want to influence tomorrow's OPENING price. If today's CLOSING price is high, then people might think that the shares for that particular counter would raise tomorrow. If the CLOSING price is low, then people might think that the shares for the counter would drop tomorrow. So, the person who tries to influence the CLOSING price may get some benefit from it.

Hi!

Anyone knows what "Public Shareholding Spread" means?

This is the announcement:

i) the public shareholding spread as at 23 November 2010 stood at 24.999% and hence is not in compliance with the Required Public Shareholding Spread (as defined under the ACE Market Listing Requirements);
(ii) the Company has yet to formulate any rectification plans to comply with the Required Public Shareholding Spread. However, the Company is still working towards formulating plans and exploring steps to increase the liquidity of its shares and will make the appropriate announcements in relation to the status of its efforts to comply with the Required Public Shareholding Spread;
(iii) the Company will submit an application of extension of time to rectify its public shareholding spread to Bursa Securities in due time.

What does it mean?

Hi there! Can anyone explain to me what a Call warrant is? I realise that company warrant or right issues have time limit, but why isn't there a time limit for Call warrant? And what is a Put warrant?

If I buy a Call warrant, can I sell it immediately just like normal shares? Or is there any rule to follow?

Thank you.

if settlement price is RM5.00, then you value of CW is Rm5.00-Rm3.00 = RM2.00 / 10 (ratio) Rm0.20.

Issuing bank will return Rm0.20  per warrant to you. (they will deduct out some minor processing fee, it is minimal only so normally being excluded in calculation for simple illustration)

You bought Rm0.19, so gain is Rm0.01 (excluded the processing fee)
*
Is this applied to both company and call warrants? Or just company warrants?

I have another question... In what situation can a financial report has higher Profit than its Revenue?

For example, the Revenue is only 15mil ringgit but the Profit is 77mil ringgit. Is this something to do with "PROFESSIONAL VALUATION OF THE GROUP'S INVESTMENT PROPERTIES"? If yes, then what does this mean?

Thank you.

Thanks for the explanations!

My new questions:

1) If a company is giving out free bonus shares and free warrants, the amount of warrants I would receive is based on my current shares? Or my current shares + bonus shares?

2) If I sell my shares after the EX-date of the bonus issues, then will I still get my bonus shares in a specified date later? Or do I need to hold all my shares till the lodgement date of my bonus shares?

Hi!

If a company has profit after tax of RM11.5mil and net profit for the period of RM20mil. How can it have higher net profit than the profit after tax? Where does the RM8.5mil come from? For example, refer to SAAG 3rd quarter financial report.

"For example, if Mr. X purchases 300 GUANCHG shares on cum basis on 9 February
2011, Mr. X should receive 300 shares on 14 February 2011. As a result of the
bonus issue, a total of 400 GUANCHG shares will be credited into Mr. X's CDS
account on the night of 14 February 2011 being the Book Closing Date.
Therefore, Mr. X can sell the bonus issue shares of 400 on or after the Ex-Date
ie from 10 February 2011 onwards."

One (1) Bonus Share for every three (3) existing GCB Shares held ("Bonus Issue").
The Ex-Date = 10th February
The last date of lodgement = 14th February

Shouldn't the last sentence be "Therefore, Mr. X can sell the bonus issue shares of 100 on or after the LODGEMENT DATE ie from 14TH FEBRUARY 2011 onwards." ? If after the Ex-Date and before the lodgement date, the only amount of shares you can sell is 300, right?

No, once approved dividend payment then no change.
IPO just mean distributed existing company share to public only.
Let say the company origin has 1 mil shares on the owner. Now do IPO for listing, the owner can distribute 500K to public, and keep remaining 500k. As long as the listing requirement is met, public spread more than 25%, then it is fulfilling the listing requirement.

Yes, can check the KLSE faq section, I believe the info can be found there.
*
What if the public shares is less than 25%? how much % indicates privatisation?

I am using Public bank online trading... The General Info shows the total shares issued by a company... When the company announces additional listing of shares or bonus issues or rights issue, would the "Total shares issued" in the "General Info" page increased? Or would it only change after that financial year?

It basically just means that someone wants to buy at RM3.99 (buyer) and the seller wants to sell at RM4.10... The transaction is not matched yet... So, they are queing at the buy and sell queues...
