If its really a FS good lar can fight with Mindstorm or my FS.

Ok, today after work reach LRT station ard 6.30pm. While waiting for my Sister there, i go look for FS nearby a small shortcut lane behind where ppl use to walk to lrt station from shops nearby. There got some bushes and leaves which looks suitable for FS to make nest. Woila after search for abt 5 mins, saw 1 male FS! This type of leaf.

I din bring any scissor to cut, so i use my penknife to cut the rear leaves.. abit worried the FS will jump/ran away. After carefully cut off the leaves, i bundle the FS into a plastic bag.
The FS seems not scared/panic when i cut the leaf.. saw me but jut went underneath the leaf only. Lucky me managed to catch 1 FS before go back home with my sister.

After i reach home, i check the new FS.. looks quite average size. Same size like Xinan and Xonan. I name the new FS as Scorpio.
It got the same colour like Xonan/Archilles/Spartan! Light pale green colour.

After dinner.. time to test whether Scorpio is a good FS onot. Scorpio seems like confident and strong type FS to me.
After some consideration.. i decided let it fight with Xinan coz Xonan yesterday injured, HOPE/Crossfire still not confident to fight well yet.

Wow.. Scorpio really can fight well!
1st round- Scorpio lost
2nd round fight till went underneath fighting ring . (Scorpio won! Xinan fell off from ring and climb up its web to continue fight back twice before i stop the fight !)
3rd round - Scorpio lost !

Good fight. Both FS not even kecut after 3 rounds of fight. Too bad the fighting ring quite small.. the FS fight till out from the ring.

I also let Kaizer vs Nexus. Nexus try to ambush Kaizer from behind but failed, Kaizer chop at Nexus left arm!

I found a fighting spider length 3cm at least!!!!! in Redang Island, dam huge and shining! unluckily i cant take it back. I wonder how big is the biggest fighting spider on earth?

3cm??! Sure same species or not? Why can't u take back?

There are many spiders that look like the fighting spiders we have here but may not be the same species. 3 cm is really huge for a jumping spider.

Walao, viper, LRT station there also u can find. Damn geng man u. People can see u ah? So many people around.
Scorpio looks like a young healthy male. Twice it was able to push Xinan off the stage in the second round. Pretty good fight.

Today i wanted to look for FS in the evening but drizzling. I went to the Puchong Leech land, but now... a lot of the wayside trees chopped away and the area where the ditch is all replaced by brick wall. That very place used to have a lot of females. Now gone. Anyway i just jalan jalan there and took one pic. Then i went back cuz i came out quite late also.

My guess is sooner or later u'll get a good camcord huh? I bought mine for about 2k. Panasonic VDR-D250. I took long time to decide, researching months ahead and then finally trying it again and again at the shop with my sister and compare with other brand camcord. I bought it becuz of my wedding but when i test it, i'm thinking of shooting FS fighting!! haha! I found the Sony/JVC models focusing not as fast as the model i bought, there is a lag time before the sony/JVC camcord can focus when u move closer. I was thinking, "Walau, by the time it focus, spider fight already over leow." Also the Panasonic 3CCD technology, the colors are more natural. But most importantly it can shoot really close up(almost touching) and still can focus. I test it by trying to shoot small words or objects the size of a spider in the shop. haha! Some other models cannot. The HD Panasonic range cost 3K - 5K...too expensive. In the end, found this model to be best suited for FS filming and not too ex. Under good lighting, the close up is pretty good. Here's an example.

But when shooting spider fighting cannot be so close la... chop one time and the spiders would be out of screen.

I saw Spider Bandar like 50 cents size at Tasik Titiwangsa last time.
Damn big!, i saw oso got big shock! Spider Bandar is jumping spider species oso.. the normal one i saw at my house is only like 10 cents size or slight bigger. Saw oso Spider BESI like 20 cent !

I think FS oso got big ones... just tat we havent find yet.

Its a small lane near setiawang LRT .. got some ppl walk there.
Actually i just wanna survey tat place only yesterday but saw overlapping leaves,.. check check got 1 male FS inside.
When i see no ppl coming, i go cut the leaves fast ..lol. Got some ppl saw la.. but i dun bother them.. hahahah.. catch FS is more important.

Ya.. i got think want 2 buy a better camera or camcoder to record but think too expensive la.
Have to wait for u to record the FS fight better.. lol.

Scorpio got good fighting skill coz can continuously fight 3 round against Xinan.

Xinan ate alot good food now become quite big n strong FS. Can fight very well.

Next time i'll let Scorpio fight with Xonan.

HOPE and Crossfire seems more confident to fight already.
Short fight only..but got improvement from previous fight. In 2nd round, HOPE managed to throw/flip Crossfire away n won !.

Kaizer vs Nexus (Kaizer won)
I feel Kaizer is a partial chop FS. It likes to chop alot at the start n during fight. When Kaizer chops, it will grab its opponent tightly and doesn't want to let them ran away!
Nexus kena chop n have to struggle hard to break away from Kaizer in 2nd round!

I got strong feeling Kaizer going to become a fearsome FS when it gets bigger.
Its fierce fighting attack style really impressive.

I adgree...They really have the passion....Now I think kids like me also dun like to play already lor....They all professional also like to play FS....Nowadays really hard to see this type of ppl...Really really admired them....Especially Mindstorm and Viper....still take video and all that.....Go through the jungle dun care how dangerous to only finding FS....Thats why I always share this 2guyz to my frens....And they will go youtube and see....Remember...When last time Bighead lost to Achiles?My fren all seems like so disapointed.....Coz bighead seems to be very big and always the king....Still remember got 1video keeping the foods for FS....That was amazing....I am wondering how they catch it.....U guyz keep it up!Dun ever give up ur hobby!

I like 2 play FS coz amaze with its fighting skill ability. Last time when young i got play other normal spider oso.. but the spider just bite n kill direct.
Also got play fighting fish vs fighting fish, fighting fish vs toman fish, fight red ants with black ant (semut ipoh) etcs, grasshopper vs praying mantis.. etcs..lol I find FS is still the best.

I alwys wanted to play FS but bz with daily life activities, no kaki and its not easy to catch FS. Its when Mindstorm post his FS hunt experience, find challenger to fight his BigHead and his effort to get the FS hobby known to people here in LYN tat make me decided to play FS again.
I got experience catch FS and i feel can catch a stronger FS to fight with him I also wanted to share this amazing FS fight with people who haven't see or know abt FS

Ya.. the video fight for BigHead vs Archillies is really clear. It can show how FS fight clearly.

There are still strong FS out there.. just need to put some effort and search at the right place.
If train the strong FS well, the FS can become a fearsome fighter and win alot of fights!

Some of the FS i caught are already excellent in fights. If i really train the FS hard i worry its opponent will badly injured in fight or die.
Mindstorm FS like Jack, SmallChops, KelapaSawit also already very fierce type.

I'm sure there are also more fiercer FS out there. Those really strong and fierce FS when fight will not let its opponent ran easily. It will lock its opponent arms during fight, push/carry, continuous launch strong chops to weaken its opponent and can injured them badly/kill them off in fights

I think only people who play FS have seen these type of fight before and know how to train their FS become a fearsome fighter.

Strong fighters normally have the desire to search/wanted to fight with other good opponent to improve their fighting skill and know who is the best fighter. Whether win or lose, its an honour to have the opportunity to fight with great fighters.

I think FS oso have the same fighting desire.. fight to become a better fighter beside just defending themself and teritory.

Tonight fight is special coz i use a new fighting ring for the FS. It much bigger space, better grip coz its its Rat Padz gaming mouse pad.
The surface is black but wat the heck.. as long the FS can have a proper grip during fight in a spacious fighting ring, they can fight much better!

Kaizer vs Nexus (Kaizer won)
Kaizer won with strong chops. Nexus try to fight back with some chops but still lost!

Xonan vs Scorpio (Xonan won)
Xonan won easily.. just arm pushing and few chops. Scorpio seems not interested to fight tonight.

HOPE vs Xinan (HOPE won!)

The best fight for tonight!! Damn fierce and awesome fighting skill display by HOPE and Xinan
Both FS attack with strong arm pushing, arm locks follow by chops swap position and push each other back.
Xinan attack with strong chops but HOPE defend well and managed to flip Xinan upside down twice!! but Xinan able to get back into proper footing and counter attack back with tight locks and chops!
At the 2nd time when HOPE managed to flip Xinan upside down again, Xinan do a surpise counter attack!!
Xinan swing while kena flip upside down to the side/behind HOPE and chop HOPE's left ARM!!!

Xinan bite hard on HOPE's arm and don't want to let it go. Xinan attack is so fierce making HOPE unable to breakfree for quite some time
HOPE was caught in a very dangerous situation tat might caused its left arm to break! After some time tat seems endless and hopeless for HOPE, HOPE mustered all its strength managed to turn abit , lift its body and Xinan up, uses its right arm to attack and bite back at Xinan arm hard to breakfree. Xinan got panic, immediately attck with a strong chop and push HOPE away before retreat!

Both FS arm was injured but HOPE's left arm seems injured more. After both FS break free, Xinan and Hope still want to continue their fight but i decided to block/stop them from cont to fight.
I don't want my FS to get bad injury. After awhile, both FS seem ok already and their arm oso looks fine w/o bengkok or break.

I feel if both of the FS cont fight maybe Xinan got better chance to win but HOPE also might win coz Xinan got injured and exhausted as well after the fierce fight!

Damn fierce man.. Xinan and HOPE both are excellent FS.

Viper, in the earlier fight, Kaizer really looks like half chop. Very fierce. But he doesn't have the size to match Hope or Xinan huh?

In your today's fight, Kaizer and Nexus seems like good match but in the end, Kaizer consistently toppled Nexus. Kaizer certainly look like good fighter and in its prime too.

Walao! Incredible fight between Hope and Xinan! Lasted 30 seconds with the stall at arm bite lasting 18 seconds, more than half the time of the whole contact time. Damn, Hope could have lost its arm. With that strong arm bite and long hold, Xinan could have won if it was a bit more determined. Hope was already damaged badly while Xinan looks ok. Again another fight with the winner being more injured than the loser. If in the wild, maybe Xinan may encounter back Hope a short while later and finish him off, man! 18seconds is a long time... allowing a lot of Xinan's venom to be injected in. It's mighty lucky Hope's arm were strong enough to withstand that kind of wicked assault. Hope itself could have opt to break it off to save its own life. Wat a comeback. A..MA..ZING.

Crab. Your spiders fighting stamina is unmatched man. Taking the top 3 spots for time length of fight.

Haha! Thanks for your support. Nice to know others can enjoy our passion. About giving up our hobby...hehe..hard to say. Sometimes may take a break, who knows, sometimes even a dog lover may give up keeping dog when their dog die or something more important in their life comes along.... That is why I decided to share this hobby on the net. Although i have no plans to stop keeping spiders now or future(but lots of weird plans to expand it actually), but just in case i or viper do for watever reason, hopefully someone can pick up where we left off. Otherwise, just enjoy our experience.

Btw - Bighead won Archilles. No chance for rematch. Bighead did lose to 6leg and Jack.

Food for FS..Drosophila/Vinegar Fly/Fruit Fly. I didn't catch most of them. Only a few of them. The rest were brought up! Children of the first few ones.

Holy shit... Jack rip Smallchops left arm apart!
Smallchop try to attack from behind but Jack was fast enuf 2 back off and immediately chop at SmallChop's left arm from the side!.

I don't agree you should let these 2 chop fS fight coz its size different and not fighting facing each other direct.
Smallchop is quite small if compare to Jack. Eventhough Smallchop is a fierce chop FS but Jack size is much bigger.
If smallchop and Jack fight face to face, maybe smallchop will not lost its left arm..

Actually i do like Smallchop fighting skill.. its fighting arm stance is very different and its brave enough to fight other bigger FS.
It can launch powerful chop and fight fiercely for short time. SmallChop attack is powerful and force its opponent fell off from the fighting ring and sometimes even both turn upside down. From previous fight Smallchop vs my other average young size non chop fs face to face, its still able to ran away easily when its opponent fight back. Most of the time, its my FS are at risk coz ur smallchop alwys aim its opponent arm when it chop.

For me, if want to fight FS, its better to give them a fair fight in terms of their size, fighting skill chop/fierce/non chop, good grip fighting surface
and most important the FS is not handicap or injured from other fights earlier.

Yesterday HOPE vs Xinan, when HOPE arm got chop, Hope also got bite back Xinan right arm and uses its right arm to push/attack Xinan few times.
The fight was too fast and cant really see well in the captured video.

After the fight Xinan right arm also injured, it become straight unable to bend for sometime. Can see in the video, Xinan arm also injured after the fight over. I didn't focus record in the video Xinan condition tat much coz i'm more worried about HOPE arm injury. Theres no liquid coming out from both FS arms. After sometime both FS arms back to normal position without any permanent or badly dmg.

From the fight, I feel Hope is much stronger coz able to flip Xinan upside down 2x and can push Xinan far backwards. HOPE also don't gave up even when its left arm got lock and bitten by Xinan. HOPE oso bite Xinan tightly and also uses it right arm to poke hit Xinan few times.

HOPE has regain its fighting confident after i release the female FS from its case. Really weird..
Crossfire also seems recover abit already.. yesterday i didn't let it fight coz want it to rest n recover faster.

Kaizer and Kaizen both quite small size like SmallChops.
Nexus is only slightly bigger abit than Kaizer and Kaizen. I only let them fight each other especially Nexus and Kaizer coz both can fight well.
Kaizen seems kecut most of the time.. just short arm push and ran alwys.

Actually i plan want to let Kaizer vs ur SmallChop in direct face 2 face fight coz Kaizer got good fighting skill. Too bad ur SmallChop already lost 1 of its arm n injured badly Not sure ur KelapaSawit FS size.. if its about small chop size maybe can fight.

My FS can fight long coz, i alwys let the same lvl/strong FS to fight each other on a good surface fighting ring.
Both FS can have a fair fight to show their superb fighting skill and fight to their maximum ability.
From FS fight also, i'll be able to know which FS is really stronger and good in fights.

For Archilles vs BigHead fight, I feel Archilles is a better fighter coz Archilles is in control and launch alot attacks on Bighead pushing it to bottom and top up back. Bighead was in defensive most of the time unable to hold Archilles strong push attacks and only able to do strong counter attack when being push to a higher position at top. Fighting at higher position give alot advantages to attack better and for me its quite unfair for the FS tat fight from lower position. Bighead was injured and exhauted after the fight but Archilles still in good fighting condition.
If continue to 2nd or round 3 fight, i feel Archilles will have much chance to finish off Bighead.

Eventhough Archilles lost in the one round fight, for me Archilles actually won coz it already display superb fighting skill and dominated the fight. Well tats my personal view la. maybe some other FS fan also share the same view like mine.

From Archilles vs Spartan fight also shows both FS are very strong and can launch alot attacks.
Arm locking, strong pushing and strong defend/hold from both FS also much better than most other FS.

Too bad my large FS cant have rematch n fight with BigHead before both died. If got chance to fight, i'll bet my FS will win.

Caught 2 new young male FS this morning and let them fight with Kaizer
Kaizer chop and lock tight its opponent. There is one fight where kaizer chop so hard till its opponent flipped upside down! Kaizer continue to lock its opponent tight and drag it backwards. The opponent is still in upside down position when kena dragged! Wow.. too bad i'm not fast enought to record the begining of the strong chop, can see abit middle and end part only. Kaizer is really a fierce n strong chop FS. Kaizer alwys start its attack with strong chop at its opponent face and try to do a tight arm lock before fight using normal arm pushing.

Crossfire vs Scorpio
Round 1 - Scorpio won
Round 2 - Crossfire won
Round 3 - Scorpio won
Round 4 - Crossfire won. (Scorpio retreat after step on different fighting surface rough to smooth )

Crossfire is slightly bigger than Scorpio. Crossfire seems can fight much better today.
Fight till both oso flip upside down
Good fight!

So you get to see a glimpse of what usually happen in the wild mah. Fair fighting is man-made. In the wild, FS may get chop from back, from side, from top(jump from another leave), inside nest, they may fight on vertical leave, upside down, may have third spider coming to chop after kena chop by first spider etc etc. Haha!
I'm also surprise arm get bit off, i was about to blow them seeing that jack like going to bite small chop body, where suddenly smallchop twist and its arm came off. Jack is still living up to its name... as the ripper.

Well, i agree with you that Archilles and Spartan were better fighters than Bighead, Bighead never showed much chopping or manuveuring skills. He had size as its advantage, and probably a bit of stubborness for that one fight with Archie. When it was going backwards i thot it had already lost and getting ready to cabut. But somehow it used its last bit of strength for teeth grinding and got lucky.

Since we started documenting our FSs, to date here is, IN MY OPINION, the top fighters by rank and with reasons.
1. Spartan(viper) - Engaged in the longest fight, fought with a bigger opponent(Archilles) and Won!
2. Xinan(viper) - Engaged in 2nd and 3rd longest fight, although lost but quite badly injuring a bigger opponent(Hope)
3. Quietman(mindstorm) - Engaged in long fight(about 10s) - defending & chopping style, fought twice with bigger opponent(TooBig) and also won. Also win a lot of other fights.
4. Archilles(viper)- Lasted in longest fight and also lasted long with Bighead and showed great skill, but take 4rd place cuz did not win in both fights and also lost to slightly smaller Spartan.
5. Scareycat(mangrovejumper) - Engaged in exciting fast fighting 17s match with Pippy, and also making a comeback to fight again after dropping from stage in the fight with bigger Quietman.
6. Bighead(mangrovejumper/mindstorm) - Pretty good stats throughout its life but unfortunately did not show enough determination in a couple of fights against 6legs. Also not much impressive style. Pretty old school - push and direct chop.
7. Jack(mindstorm) - (chop) Unseen before fighting style i) jump over to bite abdomen tip with serious consequenses ii) chop until knock opponent upside down(twice). Unfortunately inconsistent.

Round 1 was a good fight. There goes a double flip. Ding dong ranking between cross and scrop.. pretty equal. Kaizer is a chop after all. Fierce fighter, and another unique fight... drag opponent upside down!

Today i half day. Caught some new spiders today and some interesting photos. Later tonite i post up. Now i want to play ping pong.

For me Archilles actually is as strong as Spartan in my FS list. Archilles is good at tight arm lock and chop push attacks.
There was only 1 fight 4 this 2 FS, if there's rematch.. i still think Archilles have higher chances to beat Spartan.
If Archilles vs Xinan? Xinan is way much smaller .. even smaller than Spartan.. dun think Xinan have high chances to beat Archilles.
Xinan arm is way much shorter sure kena grab lock tight.. like Jack vs Smallchop.. arm might just break if try run away by force when kena lock n chop..

You didn't list my other FS which i think also strong fighters
Crossfire - defeated Jack in fierce fight.
Hope - defeated Jack and even try to stop JAck from running away
Xonan - able to give a very good fight against Xinan.

I feel Jack only good for short fights, it just try to chop hard to injured its opponent n defeat them fast. If its oppponent managed to block Jack attack and lock its arm tight.. Jack will
ran away. Crossfire and Hope able to block Jack jump chop abdomen attack easily and i feel other strong FS will also able to do the same.
Jack have same fighting exit like Smallchop.. don't seem have the stamina or strenght to fight long.
So far, i feel Jack don't have any right fighting partners to have good fights, its opponent from your other spiders are way below its fighting level.. sure kena thrash badly.
If ur Bighead is still active and fast.. it sure can beat Jack.

For me to rank my FS, it will be based on
1) Size - arm width, bigger body abdomen, long legs, sharper big teeth..
2) Fighting techniques : fierce strong chop, good defend, flip, arm lock, push/swap position,
3) Stamina : can fight long and not exhausted easily or ran away fast, can lift n push hard,
4) Strong fighting will - can counter attack back even at a losing position.

From most of your FS fight video, i can see most of it attack using strong arm pushing and chops . Only few of the FS do arm lock, defend well and push..
Without arm lock, the FS will open itself for kena hit by strong chops and after kena chops hard few time sure ran away already.

From my FS fights video, most of the good fights are from same fighting level FS. The FS can have a proper good fight and cant just simply beat each other easily.

Good to know u have caught new FS today, hope there are some good FS tat can fight well.

Added on March 18, 2008, 12:45 amI let Crossfire fight Scorpio 2 round of fights in the morning and another 2 more round fights in the afternoon.
I feel this way is better coz the FS wont be too exhausted.

Ya, kaizer is a chop, but have the same fighting stance when see its opponent.
So far only Nexus able to give some good fight. I fed Kaizer everyday and its getting fatter abit but its chop attack is stll fast and arm lock is excellent.
Kaizer alway attck with chop and lock its opponent.. only Nexus able to def and force kaizer to fight with arm pushing sometimes.

Yeah, after reviewing their fights i think Crossfire and Hope deserve a place too, possessing good counter moves against Jack. But Jack comes to mind first simply because of another spider...Bighead. Jack executed a technique that allows it to possible win a much bigger spider in an efficient time. With old school technique, Crossfire and Hope simply have no way of winning a big FS like Bighead. Their fights with Bighead was only pushing.

I guess our ranking criteria differ in one very obvious point. Size. As i have mentioned early in this tread, size difference is something to be eliminated when matching spiders. Of cuz, we cannot always have 100% same size spiders fighting. While you seem to see size as a plus point, i take size as a minus point! Not to say minus...but if a big spider loses to a smaller spider, the big spider's credit drops and the smaller spider's credit increases. However if a big spider wins a smaller spider, well...nothing to shout about cuz it is more or less expected. The rest of the points i agree with you. But obviously i have placed them in this order
1)Stamina
2)Strong fighting will
3)Fighting techniques
That's why those FS engaging in record time fights come out tops on my list. A long fight is an amazing show to watch simply because most fights are short ones. Even plakat(fighting fish) over generation has been bred for their stamina. The ones we buy can fight for 2 hours but wild fighting fish even in Thailand usually fight only about 15min. Of cuz in the wild, it is not advantages to fight that long...increases the chance of death...either by being preyed upon while fighting or easily preyed upon after fight because of injury or exhaustion.
And as in the fights between Hope/Crossfire with Jack, it can be seen stamina fighters can win simply by outlasting a technical fighter. In both fights, Jack manages to flip Hope/Crossfire and even carried Hope but Hope/Crossfire still flip back and carried on fighting to win! Having stamina is certainly a major factor in FS fighting.
