Lolz yaya i agree that should have a thread regarding men's hairstyle and haircare here. I juz went to a saloon near the carefour inside midvalle (if u knw where it is). Washing and cutting cost me rm35. Btw can recommend some shampoo or haircare product tat can make hair softer? Coz my hair is quite hard one and hard to make hairstyle. Even can make also the style wont stay long.

There's some Japanese hairstyling magazine for women and men in Kinokuniya near the manga section. I found them when I am looking for female ones.

If you want a meticulous delicate stylist for a reasonable price, I can recommend a place in Sungei Wang.

The place is Rizz. His name is Danny. You have to call for an appointment. Be ready to sit down for a haircut for no shorter than 90 minutes. He is immensely particular and would take ages to your demands, but no doubt, excellent in what he does.

It's on the same floor as Esquire Kitchen. Walk along Esquire Kitchen on your left. Rizz is located on the rear side of Sungei Wang (behind the front shop lots)

Call 03-21481596 and ask for Danny. There's no way you're gonna get a haircut from this genius if you don't make an appointment beforehand.

Rizz is at Lot 140, 1st Floor, Sg. Wang Plaza.

guy/gal shud only go do hair treatment if there is really any problem of ur hair to be treated lor..

just keep hair natural is best, i found that use baby shampoo make my hair straight.. u shud wash ur hair everyday especially 4 those who have longer hair but only use shampoo like once in 3 days becoz it will really dry ur hair... n dont use hair dryer

if can dont put anything like gel or whateva to ur hair too... it will spoil ur hair... just keep ur hair long if u want to have a not dumb hairstyle

I had done my hair at Wenawave on 14JAN.What i really satisfied is the colors.YEN LIM,my hairstylist ,she is really damn PRO in matching color...Btw,actually the haircut is nice, but mayb i still cant totally accept it yet..However,IMO Guy's short/medium length hair actually will really look unique when only u STYLING UP.Cut doesn't make much diffferent on it.Agree? It costed me RM220 in COLORING and RM65 in CUT.(Took 4 and half hours there)

*IMO , I felt that she is more PRO in managing GAL's hair.
However,i still feel quite satisfied with my hair....

using gatsby rubber and loreal hair spray <--perfect match for me if i want my hair to stay longer in the air =P...Used to cut my hair in sungeiwang but due to some reasons i have stopped going there =P...The hairstylists there are mostly semi-pro or pro depends on the price ure willing to pay...for me spending rm25 or above in any of the saloon in sungeiwang can already get a pro hairstylist to cut ur hair....but now i have stopped going there because its inconvenience for me and 1 more thing...if u guys got go to sungeiwang to cut hair, do u all realized that the hairstylists there like to use blade instead of scissors to trim ur hair ? as in they don't really use scissors...The outcome of the trimming by blade will be nicer if compared to trimming made by scissors but for my hair, it will slowly damage my hair and my hair will always split into half or fall cause of dryness...that's for my hair ler, i dont know whether it will happens to others anot...well guess thats the price we have to pay to get a nicer hair =)...Anyway i have stopped going sungeiwang and now i have found my gf's friend to cut my hair and most important im satisfied with my hair now =) Hope u guys will get to find a suitable hairstylist for urself and if u guys have any questions or experience please feel free to share it =)

Yup! Located at TimeSquare 3rd floor.Sure u need to make appointment 1st.Treatment?I think the price is weird .But if u r not care about the AMOUNT,it should be no problem. As like what i had said,IMO guy's short/medium length hair doesn't help much on CUT,but only when u STYLING UP.IMO CUT only helps on EASIER to STYLING UP ur hair.Agree? So why waste extra money on some helpless thing?I suggest u,for haircut simply go for any saloon that below 40 is enough, for COLORING,u may look for Wenawave and for treatment(no point...)..hehe....

Wtvr and whichever stylist cut yr hair are the same. As u said above, u still cant accept yr hair yet. Imo, u tell the hairstylist the hairstyle u want and they will do exactly wtvr u said. Hence a RM 300++ will exactly looks the same as those Rm 50++ cuts.

They well known artist intro new styles for a model just for photo shootings not long lasting hairstyle. Well in yr case, 4 hours ++ and for the price makes u happy? It makes ppl laugh at u. No offence, its yr money and time but since u post smth here I dare comment. Have fun.

U need a hairstyle to suits yr looks and satisfy yr needs.

???U dont get my ACTUAL POINT... hmm.gif ppl will laugh at me?(Sure ,BUT only those who not really particular about their HAIR )...anyway..hope u understand,we r here to discuss about men's hair care...saloon suggestion..STYLIST suggestion...but not to criticize one's hair/conduct...

*Like me, i will also laugh at those person who criticize on another one's ......[but u dont feel so,why?..because we r not same "kind" of person.
*another example, "Lowyat.NET -> Lifestyle -> Girl's Club -> Fashion and Beauty" Of coz there r some person will laugh at all ppl that discussing in here....why?..same...because we r in different "style/field/demand.....

Im not going to argue with u...but i hope u may understand us and respect US.Thanks!

They well known artist intro new styles for a model just for photo shootings not long lasting hairstyle. Well in yr case, 4 hours ++ and for the price makes u happy? It makes ppl laugh at u. No offence, its yr money and time but since u post smth here I dare comment. Have fun.

U need a hairstyle to suits yr looks and satisfy yr needs.

eh friend, Rm300++ is colouring and cut ler..its not only cut -.-" Btw, don't laugh at ppl...its bad dude =P...

Noob here too. Never cut myu hair in saloon. But I want to change my hairstyle, it is sooo boring. After cut and style, then you need to maintain right? I mean, how do you maintain the style if you dont have product and knowledge? So need to go to saloon each time to look good ha?

i always go to SENSE STUDIO at Damansara Uptown for hair cut. only RM30. they really pro. u can always see their shop name appear in the magazine. i was looking for the good hair saloon last time too. and "accidently" go in this saloon. and im so satisfied with the hair cut. so now im returning to their shop every month for my hair cut. it moved to the new shop located above HSBC Bank Uptown. its so nice and the deco is so high class. i always look for TRIS. is a guy.

Hello guys. I see mainly talk about cutting here. Any of you can recommend a good place to do rebonding? I'm thinking of doing it for the first time so I'm not sure where to go. I've heard cases where the hair become very dry but then others say it's okay if the stylist is good. Hmm..

Any suggestions from guys who have done it before?

I m going to dye my hair for the 1st time in my life. Lolz. But u heard ppl say after dying the hair cant simply use any shampoo to wash the hair coz the color may fade easily. So any1 gt experince tis b4? Is it really so? If yes then wat shampoo is da best to settle tis prob?
*
i think is ok...cos shampoo my hair everytime after dying....so far no problem.....the most important is u apply hair conditioner....cos after dying, ur hair might be highly damaged....

hmmm...if i m not mistaken...tis year 's popular color still like last year....black,mocha....

Anyone tried APT before? APT is quite famous in my place.

But I'm not really sure how good they really are. So, I need some infos before I run over there and have them cut my hair.

Or else, I'll just go to Yen Lim in Wenawave or Monsoon ID =)

I love scene hairstyle.. for those who are not in this field, its emo hairstyle..

It involves alot of layering and spiky edges(razor). My hair is quite long and i go to acut above in midvalley to cut. Its really good. Cost about 120 per cut. But then again i only need to go there about once in 5 months so i guess its really worth it.. besides my hair just look awesome for the mere price of RM120...hahahaha

What is spa perm? What is hair treatment?

I need some answers. I'm currently figuring out which saloon to go to.

A'cut Above? Wenawave? Monsoon ID? Someone please recommend and tell why you recommend that saloon. Thanks

I'm having trouble looking for a salon/stylist too. But before I actually get my hair cut by "professionals", I want to treat my hair first.
Anyone knows how to effectively remove dandruff? I just started using Head & Shoulders (Menthol) and the conditioner; but it doesn't remove dandruff completely, maybe I should use it longer first...

To leelc99,
I think Monsoon ID is a pretty good place to cut your hair. I personally have not been to any hair salon, but Monsoon ID (the 1U one in particular) has good reputation. I mean, most if not all 8TV programs are affiliated with Monsoon ID. To name a few: Project Superstar, I wanna be a model, 8 Style, I think even One In A Million also. Meaning their participants are all sent to Monsoon ID for makeover, styling and etc. So it's worth a try I guess, not to mention they have reasonable price as well (as mentioned by another forumer). I would get a hair cut there some day, once I've fixed my problem unsure.gif

Thanks for the informations. Well, since I don't have dandruff from the time I was ever born, I guess I can't help you more.. Anyway, do you know what should I do with my current hair? I'm 17 right now, just finished my SPM. As you all know, during high school (form1-5), we're not allowed to leave long hair in those government schools, so I didn't care much about my hair back then. But now, I'm currently enrolling in Sunway College and there's a lot of hot chicks ready for me to tackle.

Problem is, I don't know what to ask, what to do, what to tell because this is my 1st time going for such a high-class saloon. My hair now has a lil' bit of curly ones at the end (having quite long hair, 5 months didn't cut). I want to have those nice hairstyles like those Japan stars. What should I tell them? Should I get a hair treatment also? How much would those cost me?

Ps: The first pictures is a Korea star. Will post up my picture soon.

To leelc99,

To be honest, I haven't actually visited any hair salon. I only plan to do that after I've effectively treated my dandruff problem. So I'm pretty much clueless about what to do blush.gif
However, according to my friend whom is a rather frequent customer of hair salon (Monsoon ID 1U to be specific); all you need to do is walk to the reception counter, the receptionist will ask if you have any preferred stylist, if no, you'll be assigned randomly to one of the stylists there. I don't know anyone in particular there, but the one always appear on TV is Jimmy, he is the head/supervisor there I think. But don't depend on my info too much lol, I haven't gotten any experience at all sweat.gif rolleyes.gif

From my readings, if you're clear about what you want; it's better if you bring a picture of the desired hair style and let the stylist do his/her job.
If you're unclear about what suits you best, then it is better to ask for recommendations from the stylist what hair styles suit your face shape and etc. Then maybe from there you'll discover something that is suited to your hair colour, hair type, face shape and what not.

All the best to you in your college studies and getting a nice hair cut thumbup.gif Make sure to post up comments and/or pictures after you cut your hair at a hair salon. Meanwhile I need to gather up more courage to actually get a haircut at any reputable salon unsure.gif

Hmm, I don't think it matters to know who's my friend's stylist lar, cause she's a girl; and what's good for her might not be suitable for you whom is of the opposite gender laugh.gif
As for the price difference, I think there will definitely be lor. Cause in almost every hair salon, they got different ranking punya hair stylists, and different ranking got different price. I think it's straightening your hair. Then after that, to maintain that style, you'll probably have to use a hair straightener everyday.

Those hair sifus always say, to get nice style, you'll need a nice cut. Then you can style your hair easily (without excessive use of wax, clay, hair spray...) and it'll look nice. So the most important one is getting TEH haircut rclxms.gif

Is it very expensive to do rebonding and to buy a hair straightener to maintain my hair? What is the minimum budget?

However, I think this hairstyle is good also. Check these out!

To leelc99,

I am clueless about the price for rebonding; but I'm guessing it's definitely above RM100, probably not too much till it's RM300. So I would say it's safe to expect easily RM100~RM300. And depending on how good you take care of your hair, you'd have to do rebonding in the future (like a forumer who mentioned his/her hair not "rebonded?" rclxub.gif after few months, then need to do again).

I personally think there is no need to do rebonding for your hair as a guy, as our hair is not as long as the ladies' (most of the time la tongue.gif). So I would say using a hair straightener is good enough already.

As for getting a good hair straightener (Caution: read at your own risk, cause I don't own one; they are merely info I gathered from my readings icon_rolleyes.gif) From what I read, a good one usually cost up to RM200 (conversion from USD); as the material of the plates are important (I forgot which ones are good), and depending your preference and hair length, there is different variation of diameter for the plates. And those chapalang what 10-in-1 ones might not be good for your hair in long term.
There is really a lot of stuff to read and know about if you're really particular about your hair care, hair styling and what not. So a prior search online for some info is almost necessary.
I think it's best if you ask these questions when you get a haircut in those hair salons. Those hairstylists sure have loads of experience, what they say will definitely be more accurate than what I said (like I've mentioned, I am a noobie hehe, I don't have any personal experience, only from reading sweat.gif I don't even style my hair for goodness sake haha)

Chihuahua,

My hair is seriously long (as for a male). Even some of my aunties hair isn't as long as mine. Aight, I'll try to squeeze some informations out of the stylist I'm going for.

Does every hair straightener isn't good for hair in long term? I don't want my hair to go haywire. =/

Okay. Since you asked so many times and none of us replied your question. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to enter the saloon (Monsoon ID). Ask for any good and famous stylist which is capable of doing wonders to a male's hair. Then, I'll just probably show him the picture (I printed at home). And I'll ask him which one of this hair style suits me the best and then I'll ask him to cut. End of story. Thanks. =)

For example:

Talking about hair stylist. Anyone knows any stylist which is excellent in cutting a male's hair? Because Chihuahua told me that the stylist in Monsoon ID cuts female hair =/

Can the hair straightener be use forever? Because if only for few months, RM200 is not worth it..

To leelc99,

You totally misinterpreted what I typed lar rclxub.gif
I meant: My friend who went to Monsoon ID was a girl and she looked nice after a haircut+hightlight at Monsoon ID; therefore I thought what's good for her might not be good for you since she is a girl, and you're a guy. Moreover, I have no idea who is her stylist and I didn't bother to ask LoL Cause she also suggested that I visit there personally and ask them to recommend a stylist for my needs (since I have no preferred stylist).

Here is a picture of a hair straightener:
user posted image

And of course, with proper use, a good hair straightener will last you for years~
I don't know about you, but I think RM200 (rough estimate only lar laugh.gif prices varied from brand to brand) is pretty reasonable for a good hair straightener that works for you. Hmm. Again, try to consult the hair stylists first k icon_rolleyes.gif
I mean there are those hair enthusiasts who can really spend thousands on products to take care their hair and style their hair; yea, so RM200+ for a long-term investment shouldn't be too bad.

As for a good hairstylist, I realised that what works for a person might not work for another. That's why people tend to stick to one hairstylist when they find one that suits their preference; because every hairstylist has their own ways/styles of cutting hair (风格). That is the reason why I am still skeptical until today to actually get an expensive haircut; I mean some hair salons do have good comments and all that, but you'll never know if you can get a hairstylist who cuts that "perfect" style for you. All in all, you still have to try it your own thumbup.gif

On a side note, it seems like you're a big fan of Yuya Tegoshi biggrin.gif

EDIT:

To xia0nick or anyone who's interested to know, here are some websites for LOTS and TONNES of hairstyles. Try to navigate yourself in these websites k, I can only do that much by sharing them with you icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi,

I'm finally back in this thread boys ! =)

I've read the past post and it seems like most of you guys are talking bout Monsoon ID.Well Monsoon ID WAS my regular salon. But nowadays,im really into japanese haircuts and hairstyle. So if you guys are into japanese haircuts and hairstyle, then i suggest you go to INFINITY in One Utama.Currently INFINITY is my regular salon.

And about rebonding , my opinion is if you think you're gonna stick to that hairstyle for a while then go for rebonding. But if you think you're gonna chnage you hairtyle once in a while then i suggest you get yourself a straightening iron.If you're gonna do japanese hairstyles then i suggest you get yourself a straightening iron.

NOW , BELOW ARE MY OPINION ON THE FOLLOWING SALONS :

Monsoon ID : great prices , good results

Infinity: excellent results ( their hairstylists are young ) If you want a japanese hairstyle or maybe something creative then go to Infinity.

Peek-A-Boo(TTDI):results are quite satisfactory. But it's not really one of my favs

Sense Studio(damansara utama):great service , but their style doesnt suit me.

Thomas And Guys(Bukit Bintang): quite reasonable price ( got frens there ) results are satisfactory.

And thats pretty much the salons that you'd wanna try

To leelc99,

You see, everyone has their own preferences. That's why I suggested that you visit them personally. Both Infinity and Monsoon ID are in 1U; so a trip to 1U will certainly be beneficial to you, serving as a eye-opener to you. Showing you what each salon is capable of doing..

All the best k, make sure you report your results here laugh.gif

I went to Infinity in 1U. The hair stylist didn't cut my hair the way I wanted. =/

Seriously disappointed..

And also, I asked for hair straightening, she did hair rebonding for me. And it costed a lot.

I was actually thinking of spending RM150+. The bill came out to be RM250..

Package include: Hair cut (senior) + hair treatment + hair rebonding.

Ps, I don't think I'm going to 1U to cut hair again. SAD!

Sigh, what's suitable for a person might not work for you.

Maybe it'll turn out nice when your hair grow longer?

On a side note, didn't you ask for the total price before proceeding with their treatment and service?
Did you try checking out Monsoon ID for similar service?

Does anyone know what is the name of this hairstyle? Currently I'm keeping my front and back long, and still in the process to make it grow. By the time it's long, I'll iron or rebond my hair. I got a picture of sample:

dude

i forgot to tell you , don't go for the woman stylist , when your're in Infinity always go for the guys

the female's there just dun have the skills ... i experienced it once too.

Mine turned ou pretty bad too , but after i kept my hair longer (shoulder length ) , i went there and they did REALLY gud job

so i advise you to go there only once your hair is pretty long , maybe around shoulder length like me

Added on March 8, 2008, 9:28 pmoh and by the way ,

if you ever go to Monsoon ID , I really recommend you to try a stylist called Ching Wong. She's also the leading stylist at Monsoon.

To Mike3300,
I suggest you to bring the pic along. A picture speaks a thousand words, so yea; bring the picture icon_rolleyes.gif

To leelc99,
No worries k, maybe it'll turn out as you wanted when it gets longer. Like what Mikkiz said, you were unfortunate to have the female stylist. So one bad apple there doesn't mean they are all rotten k laugh.gif Do not give up on them!!
However, I do understand the devastating feeling you're feeling. I mean growing hair (especially for guys) is not an easy process. Our hair takes quite long to grow unsure.gif

and thank you Mikkiz for the useful info icon_rolleyes.gif

My hair is around 20cm.

Is hair straightener really good? I heard it dries up your hair and thus damaging it.

Therefore, do it in saloon is the best solution?

Yah, my hair was serious damage. Got curl here and there, if hair dry it'll look sucks..

Er, back hair is around shoulder length, side part is slightly around neck length (a bit more then reach neck), front part can cover my eyes ady. I left my hair uncut for more than 5 months, so I guess it's pretty long..

Rebonding:

RM80-short length hair
RM100-medium length hair
RM120-long hair

I'm in the medium list, thinking of trying. tongue.gif

yah seriously. you can just use your hands and do it the way you want.
that's if you got do the permanent hairstyle using the "ding sing gao(permanent hairstyle gel)". i think even if you do permanent hair now, after few months you don't quite like your hairstyle, you can go do another permanent hairstyle. so i suggest you get a permanent hairstyle. it's quite good and comfortable, after shower, just wipe your hair, and use hands do do a bit. done.

Added on March 16, 2008, 1:13 ambut actually, even if you dont do the permanent hairstyle, you can style whatever hairstyle you like i think, without using comb or anything. i haven't try it yet, so i don't know. but i strongly suggest the permanent hairstyle.

No need to praise rebonding until so geng lah.. It's actually do nothing but straighten your hair for weeks/months. Maybe you have a curly hair? It actually looks flat and non-stylish at all for just rebonding on guys. It's just a starting steps for curly or non-straight hair to start making style like pictures posting in this threat.

A lot guys actually have the same hair like you after your rebonding without doing anything at all and trying to make it looks better everyday.

Does anyone know what is the name of this hairstyle? Currently I'm keeping my front and back long, and still in the process to make it grow. By the time it's long, I'll iron or rebond my hair. I got a picture of sample:

Will post up my picture soon.

what u talking bout? It slike im in east ur in west. talk to yr sis la.. why me? yr sis not my gf or wife also. "wuakakkaa". What yr lcd ceramix sh!t has to do with me? yr sisuse sh!t i dun gv a sh!y also. siao. Btw I dont even use any of it so yr sh!t or yr sister sh!t has got no sh!t to do with me.

PROMISE? Guna otak la.. Rebonding last 1-2 years? WHAT A FKING JOKE. Pls la kid. U go every month sure lah can laz 1-2 years. Ppl gv u sweet words u treat liek real.. oi budak apa sal?

sasuke said bout that guy not any korean star also why go simply *** ppl? I also can say if yr rebonding so keng.. every1 come buy yr sis stuff and rebond lah.. Semua saloon tutup kedai la. U king of hairstyle la. All ppl come find u and use yr RM 1000++ sh!t and straighten dothis and that and u will go round promising ppl hair staight 1-2 years.

Keep yr joke to yrself. Rebonding laz 1-2 years? Its hell of a fking joke. Joke of the year 2008 goes to u. Budak!

Saloon find kids like u and earn $$ la, Small boy aiyoh.. I open 1 saloon and tell u my rebonding can laz forever and charges u 2 million dollars u will surely pay for it man. U know why? U r hell of a fking joker. rclxub.gif

Rebonding? Spoiling yr hair n all n yrhair will become sh!t like hima nd his sister. And it will NEVER last 1-2 years! Dont listen to that fking kid. Don't rebond. The Korean guy in the 1st pic, his hair is curly. Rebonding? I don't think so. Its all bout the time and effort u style yr hair. Rebonding make yr hair turns into sh!t and it will slowly damages yr hair until funny style comes out. Go on and do TEKNIK REBONDING and u become sh!t like that joker and his joker sister.

EG, Toro hair is curly. He never do any sh!t rebonding like that joker's sis. Yet it turns out good. Use this new clay called ICE. Just leave yr curly hair long and automatically your hair will turn out the way you want. Its not sh!t rebonding which changes your styke but it the length. Trust me, sh!t rebonding and all the straightener sh!t from that joker will make yr hair living hell. That joker's sis brought him to hell and he is now bringing you along with him.

Wuakaka.. Real joker! Its no joke fest here fking kid!

Wow, i'm glad that there's actually people still supporting me. it really hurts my feelings when those 2 came and insult my hair even after i spent RM250 on it. really, it hurts.

and yah Mikkiz, my friend too said that when i didn't style up my hair, it's just like i did nothing to my hair and it's plain. i style up hair when got big events la like friend's birthday party or got chiqs party... and btw, i don't have a comb =.= i'll buy one asap.

mike3300, i kept it for about 4 months (mid november till mid march), then i went for hair rebonding + hair cut + hair treatment that cost me RM250. i'll go again around september or october. that time i'll seriously tell them what hairstyle i exactly want.

thanks to wuakaka for supporting me all the while. =) thumbs up. but you still havent tell me which brand your sister bought the hair straightener and what brand oil she use before she straightened her hair, and how much it cost for both the items.. i want to know cause i'm buying a hair straightener. thanks alot for your help all this while.

and LOL to Bank. good job. you talked him back. =)

PS: a lot of my friends said my hair is nice after rebonding. i just don't know why sasuke123 and mtch don't like it..

If u cannot accept comments from others then don't put your face in the forum. When you do that, you must be prepared for flames and negative reviews. What I have commeted on your hair has got nothing to do with my mother. If you can't accept reviews from others, why bother posting your pictures in the forum? Why? You expect everyone to praise and give good comments on you? Oh well, you can live in your imaginary world of yourself then.

If a lot of your friends like your hair, does that mean I have to like it as well? If a girl likes your face, so does that mean Jessica Alba has to like your face as well? Dude! What's with you?

Sunway college kid. You f*cking watch your mouth. My mom has got nth to do with this. Looks like you are doing MUFY in Sunway College. In Sunway block level 2 or 3?

@Wuakakaka: Yeah I swore too much and I am sorry about that. Just take out the swearing part but those are facts inside. Of course, without the swearing part tho.

mthc, can u stop being childish, the purpose of this thread is to teach each another how to style hair and how to take care guys hair, not flaming around and commenting on how other people hair look like shit... imagine if u spent hundreds on your hair and wanting to look good, but someone commented that u r stupid , got cheated, u wont get the hair u want, and all negative comments.... we are all here to fix, not to give hurtful comment that doesnt help anything...

and ya, u swear alot, which doesnt help u at all...

Wash using shampoo first, wash thoroughly then use conditioner and massage your hair and scalp and then you can wash thoroughly again. There's no such thing as mixing shampoo with conditioner. wink.gif

emm, interesting thread here.
although there a lot of flames but ok la.
still got some good guides here.

i don know much about hair fashion so normally will let the hair stylish decide my hair style.
just move to KL and now looking for new saloon. actually i just have my hair cutted but look weird.
so now looking for a new salon.

i have very funny feeling. i don know why but i don like girls touch my hair.
so normally will look for male hair stylish. most probably because i have my hair cut by my mum since i was kid.
so now phobia to female barber. btw, i'm using redken product. nice to my hair. ^.^

let the saloon people cut lah... more safe.. u don't want to end up with a 'lat-lei-tao' due to some unprofessional cut....

Your face angles can hold the lewis hair cut. Most important is the shape of the top of your head.

My previous cut done at Wenawave (Yen Lim).Like what i had said before.Their Colouring very geng. But CUT ler...mayb not suit my style...so i will color up my hair again at there soon. Before Wenawave,i went to Hair Zone Studio (Michael POH's SHOP)..but actually at that time i dunno that person that i saw at the counter was this famous fella Michael Poh..lol..(A junior hairstylist name Jason did the haircut for me).I not really like there, coz keep on introduce their product for me while cutting my hair! But the hair cut is OK "when it grows after cut".Im still considering for my incoming haircut...(i like japanese style.)

Wow, Mikkiz, that's a lot of colours on a head LoL laugh.gif Really curious to see what it looks like hehe!

Btw, two weeks ago I got a haircut from Monsoon ID 1U, they were having promotion on haircut and hair dying; so I thought why not try out. And I was happy with the results, it's way worth the price I paid.
If you're curious to know, it cost me RM20+ only for a haircut by their Leading Stylist (supposedly, the lowest rank stylist, hence the cheapest price icon_rolleyes.gif). It was my first hair salon experience though, I might be bias hehe. That's why I'm looking forward to the next time I visit them again, and probably try another hair stylist, a higher ranking one or something sweat.gif

Then I'll see if I like there haha icon_rolleyes.gif

What is the meaning of layer cut? I read somewhere and someone mention emo scene hairstyle, what kind of style is this?

I try junior stylist at A cut Above in Sunway and quite dissapointed . Very slow n feel sleepy.
Went to GDO in Subang Parade , very normal lah. APT Sunway twice, i find their hair cut styles can last about 2 weeks , after that the hair look messy and not stylist anymore.

I think i have to go to Monsoon next time.

sooo faarr Osis is the best for me. But not everyday usee laa. pokaaiii laa.
I only use when I'm out or something.
Well. Talking about Gatsby. You can use clay or wax. But Moving Rubber is kinda useless abitt.
Plus a Gatsby Technical Clay. I got it somewhere nearby my house. And yeahh. I know it's hard to get it.
I'd been searching for a long time. =.=

Loreal is advisable too. Cos my friend used and his hair look kindaa okaayhh. =D

yah i also agree osis the best, but not the best price for student, haiz.

i've tried Loreal before, not to my liking though, i think my hair not suitable, i have the thin, shooting up kinda straight hair, so i need something strong and not seem greasy or too shiny...later look like some illegal immigrant's teen son or something, ewww.

well...truth be told, im a freaking hypocrite, i said in my post no gatsby but in the end i went and got the moving rubber grunge mat and the hairspray, both gatsby >_<.....and it works great lol.

now my other question, since i use it daily means i have to wash my hair at the end of the day, everyday....is that advisable?, i know it isn't but i cant sleep with the styling stuff on and i also know it's not good to leave styling stuff on hair overnight....so how?....i use conditioner as well.

good thread.....
all good advise....
for hair styling, i usually use gastby, either wax or moving rubber.
but gastby product hurt my hair alot. So i had already reduce my usage.
And those product also not dat strong styling power also. only for a while it can style my hair. after a while, the power all will gone and all my hair will fall down again. Due to dat reason, i will use a spray called BQ4 spray, to make my hair fixed in style.

I have no idea to hair care. I only use hair shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes i use hair lotion also.

yah seriously. you can just use your hands and do it the way you want.
that's if you got do the permanent hairstyle using the "ding sing gao(permanent hairstyle gel)". i think even if you do permanent hair now, after few months you don't quite like your hairstyle, you can go do another permanent hairstyle. so i suggest you get a permanent hairstyle. it's quite good and comfortable, after shower, just wipe your hair, and use hands do do a bit. done.

Added on March 16, 2008, 1:13 ambut actually, even if you dont do the permanent hairstyle, you can style whatever hairstyle you like i think, without using comb or anything. i haven't try it yet, so i don't know. but i strongly suggest the permanent hairstyle.

whr do i get tis 'ding sing gao' stuff le? actually wat it is? price?.. anytink bout tis 'permanent hair gel'

Okay, lets see if any of the pros here can give me some advice.

First things first. My hair is THICK. Real THICK. But soft. And straight.

I notice I can do fine, with spiking short hair. However, I've been doing that since my secondary school years. I always see some guys with kinda like Mohawk style. Not like punkish, just a gentle touch of Mohawk in the middle, if you know what i mean. Like the middle longer abit that the rest. Kinda cool. I've been wanting to try that, but I don't know the correct length for me to achieve that.

And each time I leave my hair a lil bit too long, Gatsby hair gel doesn't work anymore. My hair just falls down >_>

Never used wax/clay before though.

Comments,ideas,suggestions appreciated.

Having the same problem as you. Every stylist I visited told me my hair was too long. This does not make sense to me as I see people doing all sorts of funky hair-do's with hair much longer then mine.

My father and sister also has the same prob with mine (genetics?). Coarse straight asian hair that has very little body shakehead.gif

Hi, is there any solution that can straighten my hair but reduce the damage ?
Bcos my fren told me go for straight hair will make hair worst more, my bro hair looks more curly before than that.
Any alternative ? My sideburn looks curl ~
Wanna try a new saloon next time. Any recommend ? [ near Cheras or KL area ]

Yesterday i did my hair at Selayang capital,

Rebonding+wash+cut+Treatment+Product(shampoo n Conditioner)=Rm 140

Turned out well, but Marcus (the stylist) said i have to wait 3 days for the complete straighten hair..Aftter the 3 days only i can style my hair , as for now i gotta live with Emo Styled hair..

i think itz really worth the money.. smile.gif

*
omg brother.. your are totally wrong here. you said u cannot style and hold your hard hair i think its because of your experience in hair styling (maybe bcoz u often stay at home din style your hair) and also the wax,mud or gel u using. the fact is that the softer the hair.. the harder to hold the shape or make some style. harder hair/rough-er hair are easier to give it a style and can hold longer. why i know because myself has a softer hair. i found it hard to give it a shape. even the hair stylist told me my hair is soft and hard to style

Guys.. if you want trendy and manageable hair. Just look for James- top stylist from Top Passion then just buy one OSIS styling gel ! Gao Dim and fantastic! When i was doing japanese treatment, i saw him cutting a few men's hair in a row on Saturdays. Normal guy turned out to be Good Looking Guy... i just can't stopped myself from saying...'woah..' drool.gif

Check it out if it is nearby you. www.toppassion.com.my @ Damansara Jaya

almost same as me (mousse, gatsby, hairspray)
botak has nothing to do with styling. Maybe its hormones, genes, stress etc. To cure botak, can go to yun nam, trichokare etc. The traditional cure is virgin coconut oil. Effective but smells.

too much hair drying and straightening can damage hair. don use too often
