Hows the sound quality for this phone compare 2 N81?

well, from what u guys said, i'd say this phone have a buggy firmware??
i've used 6680 for 3 year now(yeah, kinda old phone) but nvr really discover that much bug, infact, cant really remember discovering any bug...
maybe just cos my phone have less function, that require less programming...

Anyone upgrade their N82 to latest firmware (11.0.117) yet?

Any pros and cons for updating it?
Or have u guys discovered any BAD for updating it?

that cinabeng place underneath the escallator in selayang capitol is SUCH A WASTE OF TIME. one guy said they are selling zitron set for RM2100. then a fat chabo came around and said RM2300. but have to wait for somebody to send from their "HQ in KL" and that will take 1 hour. a few phone calls later, the cinabeng told me there is nobody to send from "HQ". i offered to goto their HQ myself to collect the set but they said "cannot cause that place is not a shop" etc.

moral of the story is : N82 does not exist! they've sold out! zitron is a stupid company that does not bother to restock their goods. they probably launched this phone with like 100 phones in their stable. it's really irritating to goto all the nokia shops which ADVERTISE N82 in BIG BILLBOARDS etc to have them tell you they have no stock. same story in KLCC ikano lowyat sg wang and even selayang bloody capitol.

same goes for MAXIS advertising like RM1688 or RM1888 etc which is all bullcrap cause they don't have the phone. they promised to call me back "tomorrow" or "later" etc. well, "tomorrow" was 2 days ago!!

i'm so sick of this. if you don't have the goods, pull all the fragging advertisements!!! such an eye sore!!!!

why i need to buy a new phone?? because my 11 month old dopod 810 has been doing the matrix on me for the past 5 months. everytime i send it back to SIS in timbuktu-alam all they did is hard reset the thing and said everything is okay etc etc. bull crap. the "okay" didn't last very long. every once in a while matrix will come on. literally. the screen will come up with some weird display and will hang even when you're not doing anything. what a waste of my fragging 3000 bucks!!! frag frag frag. 11 months of half baked use. that's like 272 per month to have the fragging phone screw you up!

Today I used the phone to listen to the radio for the whole day besides lunch time. Around 5-6 hours I guess and my battery is still full.

just bought the MicroSD 8GB for my N82! so far is working nicely only use 1GB of storage and no lagging watsoever. oh yeah it's class 4 8GB.

N82 black 8GB? wow that's something new, or is it comes with 8GB microsd?

If there is a shortage, dont buy now. It may be pricey now and u might get a faulty one sold by irresponsible sellers. patience.

Wait for the black one. IMHO when the black is out, the normal one will drop in price.

Just wait a few more weeks i suppose.

MicoSD 8GB? where u bought? how much?

bought at low yat, well price kind of hefty a bit but meh~ bought it at RM195.

today i used GPS for about 30 minutes, wifi abit, surfed using 3g/3.5g a few minutes,and took a few useless pictures in class,and it went down a bar.
a few games later it went down another bar!

maybe it's just me,but the battery is kinda weird...sometimes goes down easily,sometimes takes forever to go down

personally,i think the sound kinda sux
even measured on it's own..
i used a 3230 before this,and the ringtone i used which had to be modified(had to make the volume louder,since the phone had soft speakers) sounds even worst on the n82.
it is somewhat louder,but during certain parts of the song it goes shallow(the sound volume)

when i have the time,i'll try a new set of the same tone..

did you have the latest firmware on that phone?
maybe when you bought it,it had the latest firmware on board?

sometimes upgrading the firmware does wonders

we've just gone past CNY,so i think it'll take some time for them to restock(this is malaysia,you know? )

on a seperate note,anyone manage to check their processor speed?
i tried checking it with some kind of software,which i cant find atm and it stated the speed as 206mhz
i thought this phone was in the lower 300s?

just my opinion lar, i see u guys talking about bugs, when i read i also feel a bit dizzy....just makes me think that it's slightly too much bug in this phone..

Wowwww... Quite worth the price considering the 4GB is RM90 now. I think I saw in C-Zone pricelist. Let us now the performance when you load tons of things inside later ok?

As I know, GPS makan a lot of battery wan. I dont do gaming so I cannot comment. But the battery dont seem all that great to me as written in GSMarena.com. It still dwindles at least 1 or 2 bar after a day. All I did was play with GPS, update my expenses and listen to audio-books on my way to work and back.

I agree with you that the sound is not too impressive. I tried speaking to my gf on Loudspeaker and she couldnt hear me at times. I didnt have the problem with my old N70. I take the same route to and from work when using my N70 and now N82. The N70 seems clearer and no line putus but N82, line got putus twice today.

Dont worry man, save up and wait for the price to drop! Pamper yourself!

i've never gotten this before,but i have gone through a black screen when using the camera
slide the shutter,and nothing comes out,save for a black screen
happens occasionally,but nothing else..

the internet radio or normal radio?
i just tried the internet radio a minute ago(and still am listening to it)
good stuff,im surprised my 512k can actually play it smoothly
(it even fades out when you change channels-doesnt just change)

Black screen is much like the lens baru buka mata... like humans I think and I think this behavior is normal. Anyway, I got that error about 3 times and it was quite bad. I was recording a video of fireworks at my grandma house and at the end, couldnt save the video - bengang only.

I was talking about normal radio. If internet radio, we just go to those Hitz.FM / Fly FM website and register and it will play on the browser, right? Is that the one you're talking about?

Nokia sports tracker belum try but good find! However, I think the N82 GPS is a bit laggy. My friends who are more familiar with GPS devices said that built-in GPS on phones (exclude PDAs) are generally a little slow. I experienced it before and I know that if you get the signal before you enter the car, that helps. I also changed the configuration of my GMXT like less detail map and also point the arrow on the GPS position, not the road. Have not tried GPS since then. Will try and update tomorrow.

quite bad..
happened a few times,and it never recovered.
i waited for a few minutes,and it just stayed there,black screen
had to close the shutter and reopen it to activate the camera.
annoying,but just a minor niggle



just plug in the headset(need the headset,as it acts as an antenna )
a few months/years ago,n70 users(IINM) used to short circuit their phone connectors to use the radio without the headset
bold move,but i guess to each his own

im using the internet radio app from nokia.
google nokia beta labs.got quite a few good apps there,still in beta phase but useable

this site is great,IMO.
i did a run a few hours ago,and the application installed on your N82 will use the GPS to calculate:
1)how far you go(distance)
2)your highest and lowest altitudes
3)your max speed
4)average speed
5)slowest point on your route
6)fastest point
7)draws your route

and when you upload the data to the site,it shows your route on google maps automatically good stuff!!

well....they didn't mention exactly how much but they say RM1600++ (luk chin gei). when i mentioned about this forum they looked at me funny like one kind. the first guy said RM2100 then fatty po from the other side quoted RM2300. then they colloborated and gave me all sorts of excuse like phone gotto get from KL and cannot get today etc etc. i've seen this tactic used before. simply quote a ridiculously cheap price then say no stock. zzzzzzz. dunno benefit who??
