n82 is currenty one of the fastest symbian phones due to its increased ram..it has 128 ram and after a fresh boot,u get around 90mbs of ram to play around...i opened every single app in my  n82 and still no hanging prob...it should be faster than 6120c i guess. rclxms.gif

Yah yah........n82 are very responsive and fast when open application. You will notice clearly when compare to n73 or n95. Even to activate the camera by sliding the cover are very lagging compare to n82. cool2.gif

Guys... how long does your battery last?

if on average, approx 1/2 hour on GPS, like 5 photos with flash, about an hour of phone calls, and now it is 5:03pm sudah low battery warning (multiple times). I'm on GSM network (not dual mode). Is it something wrong??

My battery was on full charge this morning.

I was using Nokia maps with A-GPS continuous usage. Last me 2.5-3 hrs full charge, and RM30 worth of petrol... tongue.gif and RM24.90 in tolls tongue.gif ~200km travelled.

Previously play a lot with it daily. Battery lasts me 12-18 hours. Now seldom play with it, last me 2 days.

GSM only, WiFi off. Minimum calls <15 min. ~20 SMS.

In your case:

I think the 1/2 GPS eats up 20% of battery
1 hr call = 30% of battery
photos = 5-10%

About 60% gone, if morning full charge. Are there a lot of apps running in background ? =Press and hold the menu key.

lil twist

Guys, I am wondering whether you all have this problem when updating latest firmware from Nokia Software Updater.

It shows that "Phone is not supported" when i connected my phone with usb cable. Is it because I bought my phone from CSL and it is not original?

Guys, which audio player do you use to listen to mp3? I find this N82 default player is not too helpful especially when it comes to fast forwarding. When I hit the FF button, it goes to the next song. How do I make it so that it would go to the next 20 minutes? Can we do it with this player or we need an alternative player?

Do advise. THank you.

Your Nokia Software Updater is 1.4.00... You need to download version 1.4.23 to be able to upgrade your N82 firmware.

i also face the same problem last week.
Solution:
1. Remove all the NOKIA software..
2. Install the Nokia Cable Driver.
3. Install the Nokia Software Updater (NSU).
4. Get the latest NSU from internet.
5. Restart PC.
6. You can update your phone firmware now...
7. Install the remaining Nokia Software as you like....

Regarding my battery issue, I tried today again with my GPS, phone calls, photo taking (with flash), until now, still got more then 1/2 battery on meter. And I used GPS even more this time, about 45 minutes.

What was different, I didn't carry my phone in my pouch, but in my pocket. I'm guessing, the magnet on the pouch is causing the camera to activate in the pouch without me knowing and when it keep activating and deactivating it drains hell of a lot of battery juice. Just my deduction. Will test again tomorrow and see any difference again. Will update you guys and gals.

Yes, activating/deactivating camera, go out from sleep mode, etc. will eat more juice.

Also same if signal is weak, as it keeps on searching for stronger signal. e.g. signal weak in basement or inside office.
