how come this website call it r670 huh??wrong typo??
from guru3d :
Ehm, I hear you ask "Hilbert, you persistently say RV670 but I heard this cards is manufactured under codename R680 ??". Yes, see if you take two RV670 graphics processor units, stick them on the same PCB and bridge them .. then you have a product under codename R680. R680 is simply a codename that ATI used to develop this multi-core based graphics card. So if you'd take two 512 MB HD 3870 cards and run them in Crossfire ... you'd have nearly identical performance.
This post has been edited by kerollowyat: Jan 29 2008, 05:46 PM |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Jan 29 2008, 04:31 PM) Going to have to wait for very long for that version to appear. It's not easy to design heatsinks for such a card. I wonder if Thermalright will design any specifically for it. Or just slap 2 HR03GT on it? |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 29 2008, 06:02 PM) hmm so a lot of talk.. anybody bought it yet?? You do realize that the reviewers didn't put their PC out in the open, in the blistering cold, right? They use heaters at home, to raise the temperature around 25-27°C. Some Malaysians like to set their aircon to the lowest possible (around 16°C) of which, will cause the room temperature to be around 20-23°C.me decided for first time not going to be guine pig.. was guinea for the 320gts, 2900xt, 3870, 8800gt, 8800gts 512 so this time wanna see some ppl else posting performance no. more importantly overclocking and temps.. bit worried about the temps .. a lot of the reviews are done in middle of the coldest month in winter.. so malaysia means plus another 20C min This post has been edited by clayclws: Jan 29 2008, 06:08 PM |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 29 2008, 06:21 PM) hmm i think u never lived overseas.. Yeah, I never lived overseas. But I did go there during winter. But would you think people at Tomshardware, Anandtech, and guru3D would overlook the ambient temperature? And I don't think they don't have problems with heating. Unless you go to forums whereby individuals post their rresults, that's another matter.i did for 4 years. a lot of ppl dont use heaters that much unless ure rich to pay ure gas bills. most of the time we control the temps only for the bedroom to be warm during nights. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 29 2008, 06:35 PM) i am not going to waste my time talking about this.. but if u want a few reviewers hp no. Haha~! Ok ok. You make your point. I play GW with lots of people from 4 season countries and most of them use heaters in their house, so they don't really think that winter would affect their cooling. Anyway, let's put this thing aside.i can give them to u.... kindda talk to some of them often. happy? guru3d.. yeah i know a few of them.. u wanna ask them personally??. trust me when i say most ppl dont run heaters in their computer room. and all this benchmark are bench rigs and are in the open. or go get a HD3870x2.. do ure own temps monitoring and compare that to those of anand.. yeah he used a magic wand.. if u can even achieve some of the older overclocks on stock gpu that vrzone has done.. i would be suprise. so anybody bought the hd3870x2 yet?? That HD3870X2 is available in Lowyat. I can confirm that. Saw it and the price just blew me away. But it's really close to recommended retail price. Then again, one should only consider this after the release of better stock heatsinks or 3rd party ones from reputable manufacturers. |
